Rs Photo Thanks for watching, we recommend always having your garage door open prior to starting engine. Soon after starting engine, it’s best to carefully drive out of garage & allow engine to warm up for 5 minutes prior to going full throttle & engaging PTO. Hope this helps. 😎👍🔧🔩
So if you keep your mower outside in a shed in the summer, there's no need to use the choke because the engine is already warm? Or do you mean the engine is cold by just not using the mower in a while?
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. PTO to the on position in turtle setting is how the manufacturer wants you to do it. If turned on in rabbit setting, you can damage pulleys & snap belt. Since yours is turning off in turtle setting, you may need to adjust your throttle. The procedure can be found in your owners manual. Please keep us posted. Hope all is well. 😎👍🔧🔩
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I thought you said that the belts would get excessive wear and strain if the throttle is set to anything lower than the rabbit when PTO is on?....can you confirm please, my belts just came off today while mowing and I only at 15 hours....I was thinking that this was the reason for it. Thanks in advance.
@@theriseagainhomestead1055 Good morning and we appreciate you reaching out to us. It’s very important to have your throttle setting at turtle prior to engaging your PTO. After you engage your PTO while your throttle is set at turtle, you can slowly advance your throttle to rabbit setting. This will ensure that your PTO is operating at peak efficiency as it spins the blades and cuts the grass. 😎👍🔧🔩
Thanks for watching and sharing this. Any update? The most common cause is a stuck pulley. What most would recommend is to remove negative cable from battery followed by carefully removing drive belt which will then give you access to spin all pulleys by hand. Those that rotate freely are good however it’s possible that one of your pulleys will be a bit tough to rotate or if seized, not rotate at all…which causes belt to slip and lead to engine shutdown. Is it at full power? Is there a bunch of grass under the deck? Those can also cause it to not work along with the pulley.
I’m guessing my battery is dead
i just click a thumb up so you can hit one thousand!
I still can’t start a zero turn smh
