    My biggest tip from a Burger King employee is to work in Kitchen first. You get familiar with all of the items and how to mark the wraps and it makes it a lot easier when you move to front counter. As for learning drive thru. Ask your general mangers if you can come in on a specific time or day that isn't super busy so you can get familiar with things.

    I’ve been working at Burger King for about three days now. Here’s my experience so far if anyone is curious. I have work in about a couple hours, and I’m still scared shitless lol. My first day, I bagged food most of the time and they had me try the cashier a couple times and I could NOT for the life of me find anything lmfao. I go home and have work the next day, and I spent my entire four shifts watching training videos (literally that shit was mf long so I didn’t finish it by the end) and I came in again thinking I was going to work, and I ended up watching videos AGAIN for the entire four hours. I didn’t even finish it all because the internet was so bad. The tablet was 25% and I had to put in on the lowest brightness, and I barely made it out of my shift bc it was 1% by the end. Not complaining though because that’s practically 8 hours for free, but here’s the problem. They didn’t even ask for my account information to put money in, and I’m pretty sure they don’t do checks. The whole management is messy as fuck and I’m already sick of it. I was late to my second day because no one told me I had work (bc they didn’t give me a schedule). The managers and the cooks only speak Spanish, so I can barely even communicate as I have a driving test in the future, and I’ve been trying to give her a two week notice through text, and I even asked if she wanted me to google translate. She doesn’t even respond to half my questions. I end up looking like a fool half the time bc nobody tells me what to do after I clock in. Not looking forward to today at all honestly. I want to quit tbh 😭😭 could just be my specific location.

    • @gumdrop4869
      @gumdrop4869 3 года назад +7

      idk why but i feel like a lot of burger kings are filled with spanish speaking employees.
      also, it's been 2 months since u posted this, any update ab the job?

    • @intivate6813
      @intivate6813 3 года назад +12

      @@gumdrop4869 first of all, I over exaggerated that comment a lot honestly LMFAO. Don't even wanna read it haha. I still work here (..unfortunately). It's definitely not as bad now compared to when I first started working. I do still get anxiety driving there because I hate clocking in lol, but I can say that I have the whole menu after breakfast memorized (since I don't work in the morning, I don't know anything about breakfast). It takes getting used to having to communicate with the Spanish employees, but they're actually super nice and wholesome. Doing tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, refilling ice, restocking, etc. are pretty much routine now. I still don't understand the whole timing thing at the drive thru, but my co-workers do the whole stick the dustpan out the window thing so I don't really worry too much about it. Taking orders is not bad and bagging is easy as well. My hours also went from 4 hour to almost 8 hour shifts, which isn't too bad since I'm a high school student still. Personally, it takes me at least an hour to clean the bathrooms, sweep, and mop the lobby just because I actually care about doing a good job lol. I have no idea if you're considering working here or got hired, but if it's either I could say that it is a pretty easy job if you're a student and looking for something simple. The menu is pretty straight-forward as you keep going through it. Only thing I wish my store would do is tell me the deals because sometimes they don't have something anymore and I gotta be all awkward and say, "uhh sorry we don't have that anymore" LOL. Messy management, but good if you're looking for something easy enough to earn money.

      also, how's the job for u so far?

    • @coffeeh03666
      @coffeeh03666 3 года назад +7

      I’m on week 3 and it gets easier. Because you get used to know what you’re doing, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and be loud. I know with my anxiety my voice can be soft, but communication is key with the whole crew so no mess ups happen. I still mess up here and there, and overthink it. But it’s a learning process bc you have to learn all this multitasking, and you gotta be fast at it.
      And dealing with customers is another thing, I had a panic attack one day, and I had to step away from the window and had to hand my headset to another head cashier. I’m lucky bc my co workers are great and know that we’re human and we have emotions. But if customers are being extremely rude or over bearing, get your manger. I know some manger aren’t the best but getting an experienced team member to handle the situation is better than handling it yourself, I’m thankful for where I work bc my team members are so understanding, and they’re patient.
      And to be fair I practiced the “thank you for choosing Burger King, my name is...., what can I get get started for you?” Hahahah it was like school all over again practicing for attendance 💀

      No worries.
      It’s all about availability of you’re able to work anytime then that’s a good start. But yes unfortunately it is harder to get a job with Hungry Jack’s - if you are older as you cost more and stores have to keep labour cost and hours to strict goals to ensure the store is running efficiently and effectively.
      Ensure your resumé is also nicely presented, this should also give you a better chance.
      I hope this helps if you have anymore questions feel free to ask away.
