Oh my Nora! I’m screaming at you “why are cutting off so many roots!! I was so shocked😱 I grow the majority of my plants in Leca with your guidance, so I knew you wouldn’t do that without a good reason. One question which has been on my mind. Doesn’t the heat mat heat up the plant solution and is it not detrimental to the plants? I worry about putting my plants on the windowsill in case the sun makes the solution hot. Your advice would be appreciated. How gorgeous were those new roots though! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Crazy right! The heat mat does not heat the solution so much. You can even get heat mats with temperature regulation. I don't know about the window sill because I do not know how hot it gets where you live. If it gets really hot I would move the plant a bit further back. I hope that makes sense.
@@TheLecaQueen so funny to watch this one after the experiment video where you cut all the roots off the first time! They look great and I'm so glad I learned that trick from you!
Oh my goodness, I'm super relieved. My kroger find last month was a morning glory philodendron and I cut off all the roots to switch it to leca. I'm so glad I came across this video! Makes me feel a lot better knowing I didn't mess it up
You know what? That lipstick comment has just made me day! My girls love lipstick too! I just adore a good lippy! Thank you for liking and watching the video. Say hello to your daughter!🥰
Nora all I can say is "bravo"! A round of applause for this video. I'm excited to know that if you prune the roots my beauties can be successful. Thank you for taking a chance and then following up. This is so exciting for me. My confidence on plant care gets better and better each time I watch your videos. Keep them coming.💚🌿
I like the idea of taking the roots of. In my mind im thinking less rotting in the leca from the old dying off. I'm going to try this winter just nervous because i love all my babies. But this makes since. Thank you Leca Queen
The royal triple threat! I'm so jelly, Nora.👑🍀🏰 Why didn't you take the opportunity to put them on a moss pole whilst performing this root inspection? I bet those candy cane swirls from the White Knight will look super sexy growing up a pole😍
First thing every morning, with coffee, I can’t wait to check and see any new roots growing in Leca! Are the holes at the top in your pot for air flow?
Had to watch this one twice. My cat was just being such a pill! Very distracting! I didn't even have time to just hit the pause button, so hopefully a second go round will do the trick. Crazy cat! LOL P.S. "WOW"! Is right! Especially the White Princess. I wonder how well this method might work for some other species of plants? SIDE NOTE: Nora, I just finished making 4 moss poles with the plastic backs. I don't know how you made this look so easy! LOL. I even rewatched your video making these poles, and it still took me 2 hours to make the first one! And that doesn't even include cutting the wire part! How did you do it in 5 minutes?!!! 😂 I admire you even more than I did before, if that's possible!
You are too kind! That cat better move it out of the way when it's Leca Queen time! Making the moss poles like anything is about experience. The more you do it the more confident you will be and the faster you will be able to do it. I have an interesting moss pole video in production, I think you will love it!
@@TheLecaQueen I hope you're right because I was at the point of saying to myself that I will never get another plant that needa a moss pole! LOL That would be terrible because I want a Pink Princess and Strawberry Shake in the worst way! LOL Also, what would I do with all these supplies for making moss poles? 😆
@@MaryGatdula I know I am because I have been where you are and not so long ago either! I have not been doing this for a long time! A warning though, once you go moss pole you can never trail again! 🤣🤣🤣
Wow. You are daring. I wouldn't chop all roots. I have to get that rooting solution somehow. How, I don't know. Can I just add other rooting powder I have something locally available. My aglaonema without roots sitting in leca isn't rooting and now has lost its last leaf in last two months. But its cold here and I haven't got any plants on heat mat. Can that be an issue. I don't have temperature control in my home. Should I put all my leca plants on heat mat? I loved Philo white princess. I loved how it rooted. Wow is the word after seeing the video while you were going oh oh oh. Ha HA ha.
@@TheLecaQueen definitely the results after the couple of months! I think this works so well as you aren’t having the soil/ moss roots rotting whilst it’s trying to root in the Leca 💕 brilliant idea!
@@TheLecaQueena big monstera deliciosa, a raphidophora, a medium sized shefflera, a hoya carnosa, a ficus, a pothos, a spider plant… They are all down to stumps with no roots now. Do you think it’s because they aren’t on a heat mat? It’s pretty warm in my house lately-like 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I change the water, I use Growth tech clonex clone solution. I tried soaking in diluted peroxide for the last few but it didn’t help. The roots just rot away.
Great video. Especially loved that you included the progress of the plants in the same video. So is there a particular reason why you are testing this out on Philodendrons only? Would this work better on these type plants?
Hi Nora thanks for great video. Can we do this for Hoyas too? I find taking out all soil is difficult. Thinking of taking off all soil roots and let them get water roots.
I don't know if you are interested in orchids. I believe all those going crazy with pine bark substrate will find better rooting in orchids in leca dipped in nutritional liquid. Just a thought that you mightwant to explore.
they are loving it! I normally show plant updates on my Community tab, take a look there sometime. My Instagram also has alot of the plants on display. I also have my Pink Princess in leca. I actually show my White Princess in the video where I make a Tree Fern Fibre pole.

Hi Nora can you use this method for syngonium taking off all the roots .
Love Ur videos so helpful and inspiring
I am pretty sure this could work for Syngoniums, they root very quickly.
Hi Nora, great to see that plants are doing so well. When will you move them to FF solution instead of the CCS they are currently in?
I normally change to Foliage Focus after a couple of weeks give or take 3 or 4.
Amazing plants!
Do you plan on giving the White Princess a moss pole?
Thank you 😊. Yes she will get a moss pole.
How often did you change the water solution during those two months?
If you can change it every week, that is best, every 2 weeks is also ok.
