I adopted Rudnik nearly 5 years ago now & he’s never let me do this before!

The crunchy snow was cracking me up! I live in south Texas but grew up in Utah. I miss snow, especially crunchy snow.

I have so much respect for you that you respect Rudnik to allow him to do what he's comfortable with. You must know more than most, that many would reject a horse if they aren't what they called trained during a very short period of time..like months. Some brag on how fast they train. Must of been really something to sit there with him! Could he have been thinking that, it's cold, I'm comfortable, I like eating snow so I'll let her sit here. What the hayseed...she seems awfully happy and I love her bales worth. ? The scenery looks beautiful too. I'm trying to figure the mountain range without peeking. Looks like upper west Pacific coast? (Ok..I am probably wrong...but it's beautiful)

It's lovely to see Rudnik and friends so relaxed and happy. Rudnik is amazing! I think my favourite video is the sillouette one, where it was really hard to see if he was coming or going! 😂

Much RUclips content is little more than contrived activity posted solely to generate content. The way you casually brushed aside his forelock hair from his eyes, at 3:05, was akin to a mother doing the same thing for her child. That simple caring act speaks volumes about the authenticity of your video content. Thank you for keeping it real! ❤

Hombre has a serious case of fomo! One of our dogs does that. Can’t let anyone else get scratched and cuddled, including the humans in the house.

Im really a city person (inner city). I thought horses slept standing up and that they only slept lying down it they didnt feel well?? Ive never ridden a horse, it's on my bucket list.

Horses naturally can sleep standing up. Their knees will lock which allows them to do so without falling over. However when horses feel safe in their environment and among their herd mates, they will often take turns laying down to rest as well. Usually one will lay down while another stands near by to keep watch. In the wild they prefer to sleep standing as this allows for a quicker escape from threat or predators. But if they feel safe then they will lay down as well. But with a buddy standing by to alert them if any danger approaches 😊

You aren’t wrong though. Horses will lay down when they feel unwell or if you see them rolling, standing up and immediately laying down again, pacing, pawing at the ground, these can be signs of colic which need to be treated immediately or can be fatal. So it’s all down to observing them while they’re laying down. But I think every horse owner immediately has a slight panic attack when seeing their horses lay down because our minds will immediately think the worse has happened 🥲
