Great summary. Shot Booster was one of my favorite skills in MHGen so i'm pretty ecstatic. Hopefully, they'll add some new ammo types (Long S/Triblast/etc) and remove the element caps.
It's unlikely that they'll actually remove the elemental caps, but they'll become a non-issue in master rank regardless because of the higher values on everything allowing most if not all endgame weapons to benefit all the way up to Element Up 5. Not holding out hope for new ammo. If they had it, they'd have talked about it already.
Anyone else realize there's a laser site mount and ammo box for the Bowguns? The HBG used in the beginning is the Tsi-tzi-Yaku gun and the HBG used for the scope demonstration was the Bone Gun (Power Shot) both had the Laser sight mount and Ammo box. Those are mods they showed but didn't tell.
I was hoping to hear there was some change that let me rapid fire other/all ammo types on the LBG again. I guess we dont quite know yet, but it'd be a great incentive to make the weapon more interesting, like in other games.
So lbg is seregios and bladescale in one for any lbg. And hbg is getting a buffed version of critical distance, fuck, talk about making a deadly weapon into a deadlier sort of weapon. Loved the goat at the end btw lol

The super crit is going to be interesting as it's pretty hard to keep a massive distance from the monster when you're spotted. Guess it'll have more use in group play and if there's a skill to lower the chances of a monster focusing on you. Or Ghillie mantle, distance then shoot type of deal.

I'm a little confused, I thought all weapons could mount with the claw and tenderize (light weapons slight tenderize and slinger ammo drop, heavy weapons greater tenderize effect and no ammo drop), like that was the entire point, so how is the heavy bowgun different?
Lbg mods seem preety good. Evading reload will go a long way to making the smaller clip sizes work better. The hbg changes are... Meh? I mean with such small changes it seems we'll get another cluster/spread meta, only with a few extra shield/reload mods thrown in for good measure. Long live the glutton and devourer! One thing to note is maybe, (and a big maybe) with extra bullet speed and some buff to long range up pierce ammo may actually become viable outside of xeno'jiva.
I'm hoping the Wyvern Blast Counter is like a guaranteed stagger if you have all three charged up cause it's suck if you nail the mosnter just to get hit anyways.
It still doesn't help. Flat out buffing pierce would have been better, since now you have to waste mod slots just to buff pierce, whereas with spread you can devote even more to damage boosting, reload speed, etc.

@@chrisjames3236 Actually, I figured it out. I indeed was already pressing the double dodge, but it wasnt reloading any ammo when I did that. I found out that I didnt have any of the LBG mods attached to it bahahaha

Hope they make the bowguns more enjoyable. The ones in MHW hasn't had the same oomph feeling of use as any previous ones. They're all soo damn similar to each other and rarely quite line up even within themselves. Also surprisingly uggly designs in general for me. These mods look like itm ight fix the problem I have. That'll b great. Still use them of course. been a HBG since the first game. but it'll be nice if it got back some of the feel it used to have. HBG and S/SH for life~
The only thing I'm trying to figure out for existing people who finished MHWorld, in Iceborne are we be directed into Master Rank from the start or are we playing all of monsters over in Iceborne eventually unlocking Master Rank?🤔
At the very least there will be quest to unlock master rank from the start. Personally though i think we may have to do a bit more than that first. We'll have to wait and see

I guess itll be woven into the storyline. There was a reason why HR monsters started popping up. Seeing how the weapon trees extend and each monster has new gear, itd be strange to restrict that to an endgame grind.

I'm a bit confused by that wording, "The HBG is the only weapon that can tenderize from a Clutch Claw?" I thought all weapons can do that to some degree after Clutch Clawing onto a monster.
One thing I do want to say the weapon designs might not be by choice with a bigger team and the new engine they can put the time in the weapons like they used to in the older game it was easier because they used models all the way from the psp and something I learned from the youtuber Jocat every game isn't truly finished there is one thing devs would like to do but they can't and with MH its the weapons p.s I don't know Jocat personally I know that from a video with him the the math guys

Victor Ribeiro Bowguns have always been powerful since the early days of the series (at least since MHFU). They were just widely underestimated because resources like guides and tutorials were pretty scarce back then.

But now, especially for new comers, it looks like a "must" amoung all of the awesome weapons of the franchise. I've never played MH:World, but I have all of the 3rd generation, and I've really enjoyed mastering all 12 weapons back then
The Dodge reload is so pointless. And the scope is even more pointless. Honestly these additions are very disappointing compared to most of the other weapons.
Dodge reload is stackable. LBG typically has small clip sizes and usually have longer reload times. Imagine being able to reload 3 rounds every time you back hop or slide. That's actually a great thing for LBG, and a still-useful thing for HBG. The scope is meant to assist you in landing the new HBG move (or maybe to unlock it as well). Without that scope, it's gonna be hard landing the shot on the body part you want to hit.
While not as good as Seregios (the original implementation of dodge reload), it certainly has merit proven by the Seregios weapons being some really high quality weapons. Even further, its existence also allows for more new builds like a Bowgun set that uses Constitution for experimentation. Especially given that the bowguns themselves are fairly simple, with reliable and safe DPS in their range, not much you can add to the kit. Dodge reload in itself seems to circumvent reload times, even 1 bullet per 1-2 rolls is valuable, and furthermore, we don't know if stacking the dodge reload customization will affect anything, could load more bullets at a time and be a really good customization to circumvent manual reloads with the additional mobility to it.
MHGU has a skill that does just that. It's on the G-Rank Seregios armor. Also, the Seregios blademaster weapons restore a little bit of sharpness by evading with your weapon drawn, and the Seregios bowguns reload one round every time you evade. The Seregios bow doesn't have such a perk because there's neither sharpness nor ammo clips.

It’s the only ranged weapon that does the full tenderize and since you can can aim you can hit the tender spot more easier

So basically: they saw that spread and cluster are the main dps versions and decided to buff Pierce via mods? I can get down with that.

I've basically only used it for stage 4 of Kulve, because I got the Kjarr Ice. Oh and I also used it like twice on Diablos...and that's it lol.
