Annihilate Grubs in the Lawn

- It's mid-April and the June bugs are upon us! June bugs by themselves are little more than a nuisance, but June bug larvae can wreak havoc on your lawn. Grubs or grubworms feed on the root system of your turf, and if left untreated, can cause significant damage. Today I'm treating for grubs with a Bioadvanced product called 24 Hour Grub Killer Plus. I picked up this product this afternoon at Lowe's because it was too windy to spray my usual grub prevention, Dominion 2L. GrubKiller Plus is typically used as a curative approach to grubs, as opposed to a preventative.

Bro up here in Crowley we had junebugs out since beginning of March, I was like wtf lol thanks for another awesome video
Wow, i just did acelepryn today. Waco Texas here and the June bugs are huge right now. If you use the tip that gives bigger droplet sizes it works find on windy days spraying 2-3 feet off the ground. Yeah the Foliar tips are for sure a no go on a windy day like today.
Was coming back to Lawn Insider to ask a question about herbicide application and when you could let pets on the lawn... answered my question within the first couple minutes! THANKS!
I sprayed liquid Spectracide Triazicide around March 20 (~3 weeks ago) but I do see lots of Junebugs crawling around. Do I need to apply another brand asap, or will that take care of them laying eggs? I honestly worried that the adults were crawling out from underground (just reaching maturity).
It wouldn’t hurt to put down another product. Especially if you’ve been seeing quite a few June bugs in the lawn!
I have not had much luck with Bayer/BioAdvanced products. Hopefully you have a better experience. We definitely have seen grubworms so it is a good time to get rid of them.
Yup, June bugs here in New Braunfels have been bad the last few weeks. First treatment was last month, I'll be doing another in May.
When the bugs are already out there,is it too late to use this?
@@melody-RN-BSN-MSN no, what you want to control is the larvae (grubs) that's what does the dmg. They eat the roots of your grass. So May is usually the perfect time to throw down. If you see alot of June bugs around your home that usually means they were laying eggs in the yard and you might have issues later on.
California stores dont sell the bayer product 😢. If anyone out there has some extra, i will happily pay you for the product and shipping!!
How often should i apply the Dominion 2L?
Any suggestions for crane flies?
Does this kill mature and immature grubs? I used Grub Ex and I still see ALL the grubs are alive after one week. I am in Fort Worth, TX.
My research says that the stuff with imidacloprid is for earlier in the year like now when the grubs are small. I use the Complete Insect killer. When they get larger, you have to use something with trichlorfon. I use the 24hr grub killer and it seems to work. The issue with the 24 hr killer is that it doesn't stay effective for very long in the lawn.
I plan on giving this a try up here in the Dallas area and have the same spreader on right at 5000 sq ft. Did the 4 setting work out or did you have to change it?
Stayed on 4. If I would’ve gone 4.5 it would’ve probably been perfect.
Awesome. I’ll give that a shot and see how it does. Thanks!
I tried everything and nothing works except BAYER brand and dam Lowe’s do not carry it anymore. And for a 0.1 acre it costed me $70 buddy. I am really p*seed for grubs I have to spend $70. Please suggest me any cheaper way please
In Bayer name we trust. Syngenta makes great stuff too.
If you haven’t tried to spray something like Dominion 2L, that’s always my first suggestion.
@@LawnInsider haven’t tried it ever. Thank you!!! I will try in next 4 months as those suckers will come back 👍
ya'll can keep those June Bugs out West there.... LOL. They'll be here mid to late next month.... ughhh. They love my roses
Does this work for ants?
this stuff works great!
June bugs in April!
