After my filter wrench broke and the screwdriver method failed, this method, right here, was the only thing that worked. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks! Using a strap didn't work for me cause strap just kept sliding round and round the oil filter as I turned it but then I remembered I had a tow bar chain so I made a slip knot with the chain and pulled the end through the wrench and proceeded with the rest of your steps and my oil filter came off! You are a life saver!

WORTH IT IF YOU DONT FEEL LIKE GOING TO THE STORE. I definitely was skeptical on this, but the comments gave me faith in this method. Thankful for this video and positive comments on this because it worked, and I am very proud of myself for trying it.

Man you saved me so much hassle😂🙏my wrench wasn’t cutting it. I sure as hell wasn’t jamming a flat head through it.

Man, I can't believe this actually worked. I had already drained my oil and didn't have a filter wrench. I used 550 cord and it worked fine. I also used a tiny little wrench for the second one - use a big one so you can crank more easily. Thanks Justin, that was clutch!

    NASA, hire this guy!!!
Like everyone else, I was skeptical, but willing to try it before the infamous screwdriver technique. In my case, the filter was so difficult to even get to with a ton of 4WD crap in the way. Luckily, I had a piece of nylon strap I hadn’t thrown away yet. Thank God! It worked with nearly zero effort after wrestling with a filter wrench for longer than I care to admit.

Filter Wrench broke, Screw driver method not a chance went through the housing, chisel and hammer all failed over 2 hours, this is the only thing that worked 10minutes, initially i tried with normal rope but was not so good( may be would of worked) it is better and easier with flat braid) fortunately had some . Thanks for sharing.
