Whatever you choose to make music with...take time to learn it and master it. Main thing is having fun.

Bro, When you said Studio one, I was like "YES" You've got to upgrade. Your gonna see things that will put it over the top! 👀🙏🏾💯💯
S1 is too good!
💎
🙌🏽
I must echo you. I came from Reaper to Studio one! Best purchase I have made in a long time. It is amazing. Reminds me of the days of Sonar/Cakewalk or a Steinberg suite just as intuitive.
I have not touched FL since version 3.03. I have no idea what it does but I can say I got stomach aches everytime an overnight producer talked about years ago (I got laughed at in the early 2k as I was a pilot tester for FL 1.5. Oh well now people can't stop talking about it ahahhs)
I love hardware. I like being limited a bit to be more creative (I have all the old school MPCs). Love it.
Good video
Dude, it's so good! Everything that's good is in there.
I love studio one professional version best daw ever
I got Studio One Artist and just upgraded to 5 Artist for $35. You can use 3rd party plugs now on the upgrade which is what I was looking for.
I love using logic and the most recent updates in the last few years have taken it to another level.
Me personally i use FL Studio. Fl 11 10 and 20. I just feel like its got that look that just catches my eyes everytime. It has never changed. I seen other daws too but fl just has that sleek look like every time i see the time bar going and the meter and waves going i get chills when making a insane melody😂
It looks so simplified for producers verses logic and studio one
@@TTB_808 bro it definitely does look simplified. U ain't lying. But it just looks DOPEEEE overall lol
@@TTB_808 Simplified = easier = better.
Yes brother! (Studio One) all the way, nice and quick and simple to use yet very powerful. Think that more people should try it out.
I’m new to recording so I went from GarageBand to Logic Pro X 1 year ago. And I Like how easy it is to learn , I’m a Country Singer and Songwriter And a couple of my Co-writers keep telling me to try Presonus Sphere subscription for 19.99 Canadian. So last week I went for it. Great DAW ! Getting Hooked Fast ! Easy ,Easy.! I Play Acoustic Guitar and Drums .also and I say Yes to your Upgrading to Studio One Professional !!!
Mpc live, maschine mk3, reason 11, studio one 4 pro, fl studio 20 , roland fantom X6 and mpc 2500
Studio One is the best thing, next to Cubase. It isn't perfect, but when it comes to the mixture of features to accommodate the various aspects/fields of music production and editing, Studio One (if not using Cubase) is the most versatile there is, especially for those who are serious about Music Theory. Chord Track, trim knobs, splitter, etc.
I went from Reason to Ableton Live and never looked back. In combination with the amazing Push 2 controller, it's really the best a hybrid workflow can offer. Besides that, Ableton Live integrates extremely well with MPC (use MPC as a vst plugin or a Live controller or export projects into Ableton format). Which makes it ideal for finishing and mastering projects you started in MPC.
I sold my Kong Kronos, but I’m old school like Bolo, using hardware puts you in a ‘corner’ where you have to be creative, without the magic powers of a DAW!
when i went to producer school i learned to use pro tools there, then i started to produce more edm than record songs. i used fl like for a year, it's cool and all but didn't meet my workflow as me comming from pro tools background. then i tried ableton, its cool too, tried logic, then i found studio one. and wow... it has all the features i had been looking for. it's like pro tools, fl, ableton ,cubase, logic all in one. studio one. get that?? 🤣 s1 also had features that none other daws had and it's still upgrading so more cool stuff will be comming.
I went from Reason to Logic 7 and used Logic Until Logic X, (I still use Logic sometimes) then Maschine Mikro, Maschine Studio, Then Push and Ableton, And Ableton now is my number one. But I also just bought a Maschine MK3. Oh and I use Pro Tools for vocals
Yeah...I call it Fruity Loops too. lol
I’m rocking with you, we think alike, I started on Reason 3 or 4 after having hardware, tried a few other daws but stayed on Reason for the most part. I’m gonna study studio one, and oh yeah I subscribed
cubase from old style groovin , quick grooves
I popped off when you said Studio One. I love it, but what really made me switch was the fact that I can merge my production, mixing and mastering workflows into one place. On top of that I can use maschine integrated into it S1 or just export my maschine beats into S1. I came from FL
I enjoy working with logic its super dope and once i learned that logic coverts all of your 32 bit files to 24 so they can be preview it was heaven. I like working in the MPC software also
I tried it and it still doesn’t preview my sounds.
Ableton Gang!!!
Studio One and UA Luna are my fave apps. the SOUND and features of both are on point. Yeah you need hardware to run Luna but it's the best sounding out of all of them, period (the engineers take the quality further than any others).
20 years Logic pro user here! And still enjoying it until today!
Hey brother, you should keep your MPC, the keyboard hardware and completely switch to Studio One 5. This will be the best decision you ever made. The new amount of new artists you are going to build will be massive!!!! Blessings, never stop!!!
I've officially made ableton my main DAW. I was on FL since the beginning but when I switched to from PC to make I left FL behind and went full on with Ableton and I LOVE it.
Not sure I could produce back on hardware again. I sure did back in the day, on my trusty Kurzweil K2000. I'm a Logic boy now (after going through Performer, Pro Tools and Reason), and I get what you mean about the "linear" fashion.
I started with ACID way back, than Reasons that I loved for many years until I got introduced to FL studios than the game changer the day I purchased Logic Pro
Sounds like my road map. Depending on your age, here’s my map. Logic 5 was on PC back in the day. I used Acid to finish it all off. I tried FL because a friend had a cracked version. Then I went to Reason 2.5 with multiple hardware synths. From there Cakewalk Sonar 3, then Cubase 3-6, back to reason/record. Bought a mac and was able to return to Logic, at that time it was Logic 8 and stayed on logic to this day. Oh, machine fell in there around 2014. Thanks for lettin’ me drop that on ya 😎🥃
I was raised on the MPC2000 and the xl, I had the renaissance and it cool but when I put my hands on the Maschine studio can’t front shit is nice and yes I use it like the mpc with hardware
Your list is undeniable! I use Reason as my main DAW and I've been using it for 15 years. I use it with the Akai MPC Touch, MPD226 and the Nektar Panorama P6. I can do anything I set out to do
Reason is CRIMINALLY underrated.
I use "Fruity Loops" for ages! :D
I agree 100% with the MPC stand alone units.. as far as DAW. it's too each his/her own 🎶🎵
FL Studio is definitely not linear, but there's kinda a way around that. You can turn any track into an instrument track, so it'll link to the pattern clip and mixer track simultaneously.
My number 1 beat maker3 thanks to you for putting me on. My number 2. Hardware and my number 3 logic.
FL studio I can’t do it. In my opinion FL studio is for non musicians. Who don’t mind programming Patterns together. I’m a keyboard player at heart so it’s hard to transition over to FL. But I do agree it’s a beast when it comes down to sounds and what you can do with it if you have the patients to program
I started with The MPC 1000 + ProTools
Maschine
Studio One 5
You can drag and drop anything into studio one presets, effect chains etc...
Studio One has what they call a splitter for parallel compression so there’s no need to add another track. Love that feature.
Clip Gain Envelopes is the best! Theres basically no need to edit and have a bunch of clips on an audio track. (RUclips it)
I use there XT Drum machine and patterns exclusively.
I might in the future purchase the maschine mikro. Nothing beats hardware.
S1 is a awesome DAW if your new or wanting to switch from your previous DAW.
Another one that I have is LMMS. I like the vsts, and the theatrical sounds that I can compose. It's a beautiful daw.
I use Logic but my son uses it way more than me. MOTU’s Digital Performer is my main weapon of choice. Been on it since the 90’s. Hardware is definitely where I start though; MPCX, Roland MV8800, Push 2, Maschine Studio, Akai Force...you get the idea. I use them all to get started, then record my music into DP to mix and master. Cubase is way to difficult to even get started in my opinion.
I’m into beat making as a hobby. For hardware I recently started using Native Instruments MK3. I still use Reason 10 every now and then. I tried beat maker but it just didn’t jive with me.. After this video I will give it another try. My iPod may have been the problem.
More Studio One tutorials please! Go ahead and treat yoself to that upgrade
I started out with Reason... I don't know why but I switched to Ableton LIVE... my REASON songs were winning beat battles and everything... I switched because somehow I felt confined. It was the same cookie cutter process over and over. I still learn stuff about LIVE... in other words it stays interesting. BUT! I have developed a cookie-cutter template for LIVE too... when I just want to kill time.
Ableton Live 💪🏾...by far my favorite daw. I got the MPK 61 and a ton of plugins, although I probably only use around seven or eight of them. Also, I only use pc. I used Mac initially when I went from Mackie boards and ADATs to using Pro Tools and Reason 3. Could just be me, but I'm more comfortable on PC.
#WestBaltimore
I started out on the MP, great for sampling. Now I use Logic and FL. Both of those DAWs imo, have the best value.
I use mpc x Heatup 3 ultimate FL 20 ROLAND MV 8000 &8800 3 KEYBOARDS ALESIS FUSION ROLAND FANTOM ESONIQ OLD SCHOOL STUDIO 5 PRESONUS & ANTELOPE
I started out with fl studio and I still love it but I switched to iPad as a main production tool and I use beat maker 3.
Same. I started with Fruity, moved to Acid Pro, moved to Reason 3, moved back to FL then moved to Beatmaker 3 because the iPad is more portable. Soon as they put it on iPhone, done!
Studio One and Cubase are the DAWs I mainly use (I use Studio One a lil more tho), I started with Reason 6 and used that as my main DAW for a while but now since the recent upgrades in reason, I just mainly use it as a plug-in in studio one or cubase, I tried FL Studio and it just wasn't for me, I was able to luck up and get Ableton suite a few years back but I just haven't gotten around to really giving it a try, I will one of these days but idk, because I like the workflows of linear DAWs like Cubase and Studio One
Team Logic 🤘🏾
For me it's FL Studio > everything else. It definitely has a steeper learning curve than most DAWs, but once you got it it's like you discover new things everyday.
I also do vocals, plus mix and master entire songs in FL Studio. It's a do it all DAW for me and I love that I don't have to keep paying yearly on it to get upgrades like Pro Tools.
You can buy Pro Tools and own it. You don't have to subscribe forever.
@@tekis0 I never said you can't own a copy of pro tools. I CLEARLY said you have to pay for the yearly upgrades on pro tools. FL Studio has lifetime free upgrades
@@gphillimo Yes, but lifetime free upgrades come with a cost. For me, it's worth it to be able to get REAL tech support. Ever try contacting Image-Line for tech support? They just direct you to a forum. That's not professional.
@@tekis0 I already know how to use FL Studio, but if I do run into a problem, RUclips and FL Forums are a lot more helpful than talking to someone on the phone. You get several responses. You can post screenshots or videos of your exact issue. Every problem you may run into in FL somebody has already experienced before you, so it's a quick resolution. I'm also in FL related telegram and FB group.
If you like Pro Tools for you, great. For me it's FL >
@@gphillimo Yeah, well the resolution wasn't "quick" at all. The company's lack of response was annoying. Had I known that they would support their products by sending me somewhere else, I probably wouldn't have purchased it in the first place.
I use my MPC slim and my Arturia Mini Lab midi keyboard with MPC Studio for beat making. Then I usually track out to Pro Tools or Studio One for mixing. I like Studio One because I got a Faderport 8 that controls everything. The faders are great for mixing. I'm familiar with FL Studio the older versions. I used to use it when I first got into making beats.
Logic was the number one. I think since the update. It’s gonna be number one. I’ve never owned an MPC. I would love one of the older ones. BM3 is my favorite on the IPad! Koala is extremely fun but I need AUM to make it more complete for me. I want an MPC just to see the hype. I love the swing on MPC and the bit rate on the older ones are unbelievable!
FL and maschine mikro mk3. Maschine is dope! Learning to use maschine. I used to use Logic. Logic is cool but I went back to FL. I've used FL when it was called Fruity Loops back in the day.
Hell Yeah💪🏻!! First two choices is exactly the way to go!! My first DAW was The Music Generator for the PS1! Sampling time was about 10 to 15 seconds and had limited drum sounds. From there I upgraded to Acid Pro and Sound Forge. Then I tried FL but really didn’t like it and never looked back. My older brother bought an MPC2000XL in 2003 and fell in love with that machine. I ended up copping a MPC1000 and then a 2500. Life transitioned and now I am rocking with Beatmaker3! I like BM3 because for me, it works just like an MPC and always wanted a DAW similar to a drum machine, all in one! 🔥💪🏻🔥
Studio One 5 Sphere and Ableton live Simultaneously because of ARA. So Dope! Upgrade Doc. Now ST1 should be 1st on the list🏋🏋🏋🏋
Ii highly recommend Presonus Studio One 5 Sphere. it's on a $15/month subscription and gives you all access to S1 Pro with all plugins & sample libraries that update every month, currently there are over 100 GB of sample libraries for you to download & use. And these aren't just standard strings & horns, they're very current, and impressive, just check out the titles. You also get Melodyne integrated into S1, and you can load and run 5 systems on the one license. Set your entire band or staff and collab like a true boss. Hell, the presets for their signal chains are worth the $15/month to me. The massive array of onboard fx stand up to Waves, Slate, SSL, etc...So take a 30-day test drive, it really has the best bang for buck...Soundcloud is also integrated so you can mix, master, and upload to SC if you desire. thx Bolo for your expertise, I think we are definitively compatriots as far as weeding out over-priced BS that young ppl don't need...
Logic and Beatmaker 3 for me. 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Yessir!
Logic is dope. I use reason 11, and maschine studio all combined with Logic
@@JAZZYLGPRODUCTIONSLLC nice!
this guy Marcus Manderson is a Beast!!!!!
been a Reason head since 2.0
MPC beats and Cubase
Agreed, Hardware based production is whats up.
I started on the Mpc 60II and till this day i luv the 3000
On the PC: Ableton Live, FL Studio, Reason, Reaper, Cubase. On the iPad: BM3, Korg Gadget, BeatHawk, MPC Pro 2, iMaschine, Cubasis, NanoStudio 2, and other apps.
Im gonna go PreSonus when I get back in the strudio. I started with hardware back in the day. Ensoniq SD-1 to either 2" (the warmest of warm) or 1/4 ". All theory. So want that MPC One.........have to bow-down....SAMPLING IS KING!
Studio One, Fl Studio, Acid Pro
My weapon of choice is Abeltonlive, my first DAW was Cubase 5.1 and then moved to SX, whilst using FL Studio for sketching Ideas but arranging, mixing and mastering in Cubase, I then moved onto FL Studio fall time, and started using Abelton along side it, I have Logic and Reason too but am not familier with them yet.
At 6:55- 7:05 yeah it is weird indeed another great way to work with FLstudio is to rewire Reason to it run the drums from there then add melody accompaniments from FLstudio these DAW are powerful when combined together is worth considering having enough ram and processor power too.
Great content here @bolodaproducer. Bro... you use the same exact D.A.W's I use for production, mixing etc....I would recommend upgrading to Professional for mastering purposes in which you don't have to send your files to any mastering professional. Maybe one day we can collab on the use of the mastering side of the Professional version! Keep the content coming!!!
I’m glad you said studio one teddy riley put me on Studio one
You've got a great list. Right now I'm rocking with the MPC Retro, the MV 8800, & Maschine Studio. I have FL Stu for my DAW & came up in the Fruity Loop era, lol. I also had Acid Pro. You use what you're comfortable with. I love using hardware too first & foremost. I also like doing everything in the box. I'm waiting for Akai to drop that Arranger mode on the rest of the MPC's. I think that's gonna be a game changer!! I definitely would do everything in one box then for sure!! Great video!!👊🏾💯
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@BoloDaProducer Preciate you bruh!!💯💯
FL is my go too...I guess because when I first got back into music, it popped up and I went with it...I started learning it with the free trial version. After trying a few others, the free updates hooked me bruh..lol..I purchased it and been rolling every since. I have to be honest, I have Reasons ( I've cooked up a few beats on there), but Studio has my attention...but just like yourself, I haven't upgraded...lol...I'm thinking about it...but, like Pookie, them free updates in FL Studio "Keep callin' me man"...LOL
Studio One 5 pro which i love for easyness and full features.
ARTURIA KeyStep 37 keyboard for its coll touch and additional functions as arpegiator, strum etc
A small Korg NanoKontrol 2 mainly for the transport and navigation buttons.
An ALESIS SamplePad Pro with 2 additional cymbals, a hiHat and a Kick pedal to simply play some drums with fun.
And some cool VST instruments from Amplesound (guitars), Arturia (Analog Lab 5 has many cool sounds) etc, and VST for chords (instachord, chordz).
Sorry that BeatMaker 3 is not proposed for Androïd users.
Thank you for you cool videos. Motivates me for beat making.
I'm loving Studio one 5 ..I record vocals and mix and master so it's a one stop shop for me I also use mpc's..love them for the drums..plus I got a lot of hardware.. I got FL which I rarely use..and just bought a copy of protools I need to install mainly cause I'm gona start mixing more via the internet and a lot of people use protools to record in so it was a no brainer..I do want to get ableton though 🤔🤔
Nice one. I can’t get into making anything in software (I’ve tried) so I just use an MPC 1000 jjosxl and SP-404. Does everything I could want it to do.
I could never "rate" tour list. It's whatever works for you. I LOVE to see you on a Maschine for a few months to see how you'd feel on it and about it. I was just telling a coworker how Maschine's search capabilities are unmatched. For instance, I I'm looking for a bass, if I don't pick a particular plugin, it'll by default give me every bass from every plugin! And the same goes for samples and sample libraries.
I love your Shirts
Ableton and Studio One 5!!! Try the Presonus subscription for a couple of months!
FL studio 1st cause I grew with it. Been using It since v3... 2nd-beatmaker fire mobile daw. I been playing around with mpc and machine daws.
Fl has got some banging updates for work flow. Peace. (I play guitar n Bass also... getting digi drums soon)
I love mixing and arranging in Studio One 5 but i use Ableton to create. I wana get hardware so bad i love the thought of learning a MPC and Keyboard Workstation. But i want to get good or great 1st with what i have. Im only 4 years in and i started late but im determined to make a name for myself.
I've used pro tools for about 10 yrs , thought about switching my game a lil bit so I bought the studio one pro ain't gon lie studio one is 🔥..
Been using Studio one it's on point, If I'm not mistaken you can use FL within studio 1 as a 3rd plug in, that's fire.
I like fl studio 💘
Yea Bruh Studio One is that one fa me after coming from my bootleg era of Nuendo when I was younger and Broke as shit 🤣🤣 that Drag and drop everything was the truth lol
As an older guy myself , I like hard ware pro tools is my least favorite presonus 5 is my favorite daw but still live my triton extreme
If you go for presonus, just use the subscription. You get Studio One pro , cloud, all the instruments, loops , orchestra , and plugins that you pay separately. I m impressed, and just for 15 usd / month you just have everything. I was using cakewalk before, but this presonus sphere is years ahead
Always informative, positive and current. Remember, let the haters energize you. 44.2k subscribers speaks for itself. keep up the good work.
I use fl studio as my sound module with the mpc one and studio one 5
I love logic pro x....lsdj and my roland sp 30 (its vasically like your mpc but more targeted towards drummers
Are you referring to the Roland SPD 30?
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 yes i forgot to add the D ...xD my bad
Mpc one and arturia mk2 keyboard.
Thanks for your videos they help alot
Thanks for watching
Likewise with my MPC X My favorite to create music on next it’s Pro Tools
Love Logic!
DopeX... i have full version of Studio One so dnt know whats missing frm your version but doing everything in Studio One is a BEAST ... it replaced protools for me... only reason i left Logic cause i hated the sampler but now the new sampler is bomb ... i came up on hardware but ima buy my first MPC thinkn of going with the Live2 ... to pair with Studio One
BDP...new to writing/producing. I have old gear (Roland R8 and cards), looking at a Korg EX M1r soon...have the Korg Krome EX to get down with...looking forward to following you to get some tips. Also a musician...sax, harp, bass...so I'll be throwing analog in with digital.
Recently discovered Studio One and together with the Atom and Atom SQ this DAW is killer! I might even sell my most favorite hardware Sampler for it. The MPC X. And replace it with an MPC One+. Because I haven’t used the X in months and I am unsure if it will become my center piece again soon.
And if you can you really should take a look at Studio One Sphere.
I personally use Maschine Studio, Fl Studio & Studio One to kill everything that moves in the farm!!!
Fl Gang!!!!
Great channel. Good vibes and good info. Thank you.
I haven’t used BeatMaker since I was in Japan in ‘15-‘16, and that was BM2. All I had was an ipad over there. I went to a late night coffee place, stuck buds in, and created music into the night. Wrote 4 songs with BM over there. Stopped using my ipad when I returned. So, I just looked at BM3, and, wow, it looks awesome. It was a good app in ‘15, and the new version looks, well, dope. i’m gonna have to check it out. BM has been good to me.
Logic. Yes. It is a Deep program. The bang for the buck is ridiculous. the sound library is A-1. I’m learning more things about it, that improve the work flow, every week.
Also, the Artuia V collection. I could do without the clav, the Prophet 5, the MiniMoog, wurlitzer piano, & more. I love using the legacy instruments w/o the hassle of the 40 year old electronics in ‘em.
And lastly, my main writing tool right now is the RC-505. It gets me away from being in front of screen - as you said, Hardware. As I say, Buttons, Knobs and Sliders.
Nice! I use Ableton Live 10, Reason 11, Maschine...Most of the time I use Live as the master and open the other 2 up inside Live depending on what Im working on. Great video keep it up!
Just got me the Maschine and its really overwhelming at the beginning. All the different ways to start making beats. On the maschine, in the DAW, on step mode, in arranger mode etc. Yet to find the way that gives me the fast groove.
I went from old Fruity Loops to Intua Beatmaker 2, to Propellerhead Reason 5, back to FL studio, now firmly Logic Pro X gang. Logic is too good.
logics quantisation is boo boo
@@dertrickwinn7982 how? Quantize is the easiest simplest thing in a modern DAW what's wrong with Logic's?
Super video! I applauded for $10.00 👏👏👏
I think I'm going to get Studio One Artist. I've got on real well with the free Prime and would like to unlock my VST's and plugins! I'm enjoying the intuitive UI.
Sounds like I should give the FL studio trial some love too.
There's a next gen approach and feel to those daws.
Bolo I started on Cubase to Kenetic, then Protools , Logic, Fruity Loops now Reaper. I haven't used Presonus since I had a malfunctioning interface with them. I like Reaper the most, I can easily customize it to look and feel like any daw! When it comes to recording it's almost flawless, and is easy on cpu usage! I would rank just top three for me 3.) Cubase 2.) FL studio 1.) Reaper I really liked Logic but it was CPU Heavy lol! I think Reaper is easier and has a great mid and high sound clarity but I make beats faster in Fl Studio aka FRUITY LOOPS LOL Your videos hit bro!
I use Sony acid music studio, and Magix music studio 2014.
Dude I concur wit all your choices to the current coming from an early start using an Emu SP12 and Ensoniq EPS. #presonus#studioone#devilinabox
Music studio is also a good iOS software. I use FL studio though.
In just starting out I'm using ableton live 11 standard was using the intro butci grew that out in messing around Fl studio and studio one at the moment bot sure wich one is my go to but I'm o ableton more I learn it better and I use FL on my tablet but not too a fan thinking of going to BEAT MAKER LIKE YOU BOLO
I have been learning Maschine for about two years and have seen myself grow using it. It is my starter. But i have been trying studio one because in maschine my cpu usage goes sky high. Presonus is very difficult coming from Maschine but im determine to learn it and broaden my skills. Keep on doing what u doing man i like your videos.
Bro. I’ve been DJing since 1979 my cousin is getting me into Producing I just bought the Steinberg 242 waiting on three more pieces I excited to see where this goes.
