- Alright, Akai, we need to have a serious conversation about MPC 3. And by serious, I mean… where is it? 😅
In this video, I’m joking around (kind of) about how long it’s taking for the MPC 3 beta to drop. They even missed my birthday on August 28th! 🎂 Come on, Akai, what gives?
I’ll be breaking down what we know so far, what we’re all waiting for, and why I’m still (im)patiently waiting for that beta release. Let’s talk about the good, the bad, and the “Where is it already?!” of MPC 3.

They should have said "in the coming MONTHS". Cause "weeks" have came and went.
This is my problem-the false timelines. Same nonsense they did with Stems. It’s like they are willing to piss off the customers just to build hype. I don’t think it’s a good strategy for Akai.
The MPC3 situation reminds me of when the SP-404 MK2 dropped but only influencers could get one without waiting 8 months for shipping lmao

I've been killing controller mode like crazy lately! Have it partnered up with my SSL UC1 and omg! I know most MPC guys just like standalone, but DO NOT sleep on controller mode! Minimize the window and work off the MPC screen and you forget you're in controller mode. Opens up way more possibilities for creativity! Enjoyed the video bro! Just subbed.

Dudes sleep on controller mode. Once I gave it a chance I’ve never turned back. Try adding serato sample to it.

man i recently just got in a good groove with the mpc 2.15 bout a week or so before akai they announced beta 3......ima be slow to goto 3.0 because if my workflow work and i just got it working why would i change it?
I dont wanna spend anymore time not making beats.
@@magicizaproblem I respect where you’re coming from 100%. The good thing is that we are still in Beta so you have some time. Even on the final release, I’m sure you can stay on your current version. Glad to hear you are enjoying 2.15, it really is a beast!

I understand what you mean. The Akai Force work flow is nearly the same. I believe they are working on the software as well to match. Right now if you onto controller mode it switches back to version 2. I believe they want to release with no glitches.
@@jerzboybeats Thank you for the update on the software. Wouldn’t no glitches technically mean “final” release? A lot of us are aware that it’s a beta and it won’t be perfect. Maybe they just have a few more things to iron out 🤷🏽♂️

Yeah. I bought an MpC one+ because I wanted 3.0. While waiting, I’ve been learning 2.15. It’s good. I’ve found that there is so much stuff I didn’t know I could do with hardware instead of the software I was using.
Also, Marlowe’s Song mode tutorial was good and he works quickly with all those sequences, but coming from a DAW, I don’t work that way. It would confuse the sh*t out of me.
@@jjbing3 You make a really good point…I actually want to start diving more into the software to see how it integrates with the hardware. I’m sure that 2.15 will make you appreciate the changes in 3.0. I also understand how you feel about the song mode work flow, it took a minute to wrap my mind around how he’s getting his ideas. I just love the fact that there is not one way to do things.

Don’t forget the software recalls all you play also (errors, practice, etc…without the use of “undo”). Talk about a sketch pad

Can’t highlight multiple tracks to group adjust
I have issues when copying an insert from one track to another *if* that track is off screen and needs to be scrolled to. The software just moves the insert from the original position to the new one….no copy
Just basic things that should be correct by default

You ain’t lie because I been digging in the mpc because I’m like alright mpc 3 going to be another hot minute I did a sample on the mpc and the same sample on Ableton the flip came out better in mpc to me lol

@@BeatsNBed yeah because it was easier to manipulate Ableton you can chop for sure but the mpc is as hitting different… when I get off today ima try again see I did a vinyl record maybe it’s in my head and I think that because I was more hands on the mpc
