I like your approach. It is balanced. I was told fast and go low carb.

Thank you! That's what I was told, too, and it left me starving, and without energy and just super unhappy. The balance has helped so much.

I appreciate all that you do! The stigma seems almost worse than the illness itself sometimes! I’ve seen comments all over social media from people who STILL think diabetes is a “ fat or old” person’s illness. There is no excuse for miseducation anymore when we have minicomputers in our pockets now. Thank you for all you do😀

YES! This 100% Anyone can get diabetes at anytime in their life. We all know someone with diabetes and when those comments are made we should not feel shame. They should feel shame for being so judgmental about other people's bodies.

Thank you so much! I can so relate: My LADA was diagnosed September 2022-when I walked into the doctors office, I had lost 30 lbs in two months without effort and was always cranky, hungry, and thirsty with 350 bg and A1C of 11.5. For the past year, I walked 2 miles a day at 1mi/20 mins 3x a week outdoors and did light weights at home.Despite this I had absolutely no muscles and was wasting away. After my diagnosis, I told drs that I felt I needed to gain muscle / weight to help process glucose, but my drs and educators only could provide weight loss diets, not weight/muscle gain. “start insulin, you can eat what you want, pasta, cake, ice cream!” Math is hard and it seemed a extreme step so soon. Instead, I am on one rx and a wearable monitor, weight lift 3x a week. I have gained weight as muscle and girl fat, lowered my A1C to 6 and my bg to 115. 🎉 The diagnosis was very shameful for me at first, I had always been a healthy eater, didn’t drink or smoke, and exercised regularly. Ah genetics and those moments of foolish food choices, nature & nurture working in tandem.

My doctor told me it's 100% reversible, which makes me feel worse because every time I eat I feel like I did this to myself. Get your weight down, and it will be gone! Fast for 36 hours 😢.

      It’s not reversible it’s manageable

I would call it remission, rather than reversal. Diabetes is also progressive. So you may gain good control over time, but then have to adjust.
A few tips that have helped me, and I hope they help you:
-Get at least 20 minutes of exercise a day (that could be walking, dancing, cleaning, biking - just some activity).
-Understand that your meals need a balance of fat, fiber and protein along with your carbs. You do not have to starve, you do not have to fast. Balanced nutrition is super important, and will bring your blood sugars back into range.
-If you're taking medication, make sure you're consistent. Don't skip doses or days, and keep track of when you're taking your medication.
-Hydrate. Make sure that you're drinking water, reducing full-sugar drinks. Tea and coffee are certainly great ways to hydrate.
-Destress. Stress can have a huge effect on your blood sugars. Be sure that you're taking time to wind down, have time for yourself, and get some calm.
You've got this! If you need support - check out my app Glucose Guide in the app store. It's been a really nice community to hang out in, and I have lots of recipes, help, and support there!

I also want to add - you didn't do this to yourself. It's not your fault. But it's in your hands now to manage it. Your health is super important, and we all want you to succeed!
