Counting numbers is so draining!!! It’s not a normal life to live. I did it while pregnant twice and I am prediabetic now and trying so hard to avoid diabetes. It’s hereditary. My oldest son is struggling too and it’s heartbreaking. Sending everyone well wishes that we can be strong enough to do what we need to do daily to make it.

Felt this to my soul. I miss not counting things and just living… diabetes sucks and what’s crazy is that it has been here since ancient times. Some days my faith doesn’t hold water when I think like that…

I don’t understand- isn’t type 2 adult onset verses type 1 that ppl are born with? I hate having type 2-

Nah, many people get type 1 in adulthood and very very few are born with it! But I think most get diagnosed in childhood.

I wish that when people were pre-diabetic, the medical community would give out better support than "eat right" and exercise more. Super non-instructive ...pre-diabetes would be the time to hook a patient up with nutritional counseling, not after when it is already too late. Think of the possibilities if we could trend diabetes health care towards proactive vs. reactive...

Everything they do is centered around the insurance companies. And, we all know the insurance companies treat you after you are sick and do not provide preventative care.
