  • Getting an anxiety attack while driving is extemely dangerous! If you often get anxious, frustrated or panic while driving, you may have undiagnosed BVD. When the eye muscles are too tired from keeping the eyes aligned and focused, the nervous system gets into flight or fight mode... #driving #anxiety #panicattack #bvd #binocularvisionmatters #anxietyattack #panicdisorder

I hope you know that you’re not alone, this happens to me sometimes too. Hopefully you find something that helps reduce them or even completely get rid of them sometime soon :)
    Best of luck out there!

I get terrible anxiety when at particular busy roundabouts, being stuck behind bikes & just in busy traffic in general. Used to be a really confident driver at one point & so now feel sad I’m like this. My mind just goes blank, I just start sweating loads & want to get out of there asap. It is horrible & scary.

I'll have panic attacks suddenly when I'm driving, to the point where my hands and feet start to tingle and go numb. Istg each panic attack feels like the first.

God bless you man. 😢This just started happening to me a few years ago and it is extremely tough. Thought I was having a heart attack my heart rate spiked on my watch. I had to roll down windows I feel hot I blamed my apple watch once. It helps to not wear it while driving also to keep cool water in the vehicle. Not eating before driving and stopping coffee totally were game changers. I hope this helps and God bless man. I pulled over on the highway and had the ambulance take me to the ER once so I know how scary and unsettling the feeling can be. No coffee or food before a drive and very cold water. In the car to drink relax it is just anxiety not your heart.

Good evening everyone. I just wanted to chime in and give you guys my story today and I hope this reaches out and help somebody. I am not trying to reach out to everyone but hopefully somebody can relate to what I'm going through. On July 16th 2024 out of nowhere I got stricken with anxiety and panic disorder. I'm a 47 year old male and been driving since the age of 16. Never been in an accident and always been a very diligent, and vigilant driver. In other words i drive with defense. Today is nearly 2 weeks and I am suffering with trying to break this anxiety panic disorder. I cannot drive on the freeway, I can only make short trips and I find ways to take residential areas. It is such an uneasy feeling I do have to pull off sometimes to take some breathing exercises to grab my composure. I totally stopped drinking coffee today and only drink decaf 6oz cup only. I would normally have one starbucks coffee in the morning and a monster late afternoon. I quit both because i thought it would make it worse. There are days i feel good driving, and other times, i can't. I do feel something wrong with my eyes though. Its such a horrible feeling because i feel i just got my freedom taken away from me. I see a eye doctor tomorrow and hopefully something can be corrected. It that doesnt help then i assume i neurologist dr and a ct scan on my brain. I hope it doesnt lead up to that. This is so harsh!. I truly, truly, truly wish a complete recovery for you ladies and gentlemen.

I had to ride with family me and my wife we went to the Cincinnati Ohio jazz fest and I used to be a truck driver about 5 years ago all out of the blue I started getting anxiety also panic attacks and now I cannot no longer take long trips with my wife by ourselves she had to drive to the Pittsburgh Steelers game in Pittsburgh because I couldn't drive it's a terrible feeling and I wish that I could get back to driving those long distances again now I believe that mine started when I was diagnosed with depression and I seen a few doctors and they was switching out the medications and I believe that was the cause I think I might go see a neurologist as well to see if it's something that I can do I miss those long trips with just me and the wife

@@dalejohnson80 thank you for sharing your story sir. I'm truly saddened to know that you're experiencing this as well and it's so unfortunate. I sure hope that this will definitely subside and go away where you have your freedom back. Unfortunately for me right now I cannot drive on the freeway still I can only take City street and my doctor put me on 5 mg of Lexapro and soon it'll be 10 mg because I'm not feeling the effects like I once did. If I can honestly tell you that you did nail it it could be definitely something to do with depression or environmental such as stress that's something that I've been dealing with and I could have definitely triggered it. I truly hope that you and everyone else had his experience this does a speedy recovery. I truly hope you get your freedom back

Years ago somebody wants to joke with me and tried to go on the highway even when i said before i really dont want to bc of panic attacks. I tried to grab the handbrake and they never did it to me again. I can laugh with it sometimes but it sucks..
