Hi. We are a local volunteer group formed in the summer of 2023-24 to help the heritage listed Gymea Bay Baths and surrounds ( including the car park) to remain as rubbish free as possible. Unfortunately the amount of rubbish and litter such as plastic bait packages, drink bottles, discarded fishing lines and hooks has dramatically increased in the past two years. We have developed a great relationship with fishermen down there but simply ask that any visitor to the baths please take all rubbish with them and / or use the bins provided. Please encourage the person next to you do the same. By doing so the local wildlife will be protected and the beautiful environment will be preserved and kept tidy for other people to enjoy. Thank you!
When I fish for mullet I have the float at the bottom and two droppers above. It’s more of a tip for when you are fishing the sand banks keeps the bait higher in the water away from the bream.
yes, there's not much down there. Always packed with people fishing and I've not seen anyone catch anything decent myself (I'm there at least twice a week walking past)
Not wishing to put a downer on your post but the locals are peeved at the mess left behind by the fisho's, just a heads up they are pushing to have fishing banned
Its the age old battle …fisho or civilian, well someone always trying to ban fishing 🎣 somewhere All I can do is keep fishing wherever I can ..and take my rubbish with me
@@nautijade3318 Thank you for understanding, I fish and I try to keep all areas open to fishos. It only takes a few to ruin it for every one. I grew up fishing Gymea Bay and I hope many more generations continue doing the same

It's rare to catch anything worth keeping down at the Baths these days if you can even cast a line in with the amount of people going here.
I know the feeling like that in alot of places … bit still get creative is a big country with lots of spots for a flick !

the place is infested with taylors, nothing else. went there on tuesdays and only taylor action
