@CFProjectMayhem curious to know what are Rich's go to shoe now. Will he be teaming up with vivo? Nano X was my favorite but just couldn't run in them 😂. Thanks God Bless you All
When one listens to the longevity bloggers (Attia, Huberman, Patrick), there is strong interest on physical fitness but equally strong on *nutrition*. I find this emphasis lacking on Mayhem (I'm a fan) and generally bloggers that contest various kinds of physical fitness. I do greatly appreciate Mayhem's emphasis on spiritual fitness, which I think is generally lacking in discussions of "fitness" or even "wellness."
Would love to hear if/how Rich would have changed his training if something like the WFP existed when he was competing individually and if he would have chosen one over the other (if the WFP changed to athletes only being able to compete in their events and not CF events and the prize purse for winning was equal would he choose one over the other)? Also, he mentioned that it might be "too late" for it now, what could they do to potentially remedy that?
I think any workout methodology built around competition is inherently faulty, because for the competition aspect, there must be some standards - such as weights, distances, etc. But exercise, when the goals are either one of a combination of strength goals, fitness goals, and aesthetics goals, requires individual fitness plans. Crossfit, Hyrox, OrangeTheory, F45, etc. are general physical preparedness. They are general. They're okay at a lot of things, but not great at anything. So, those workout methodologies are only good if your fitness goal is literally general and not specific at all. I call Crossfit cardio. That's what it is. So is Hyrox. So is OrangeTheory. It's all cardio.
20:57. For those of you wanting to get straight to CrossFit talks.
Yeah, screw that other stuff
The Lions part aged well 😬😬

What nutrition topics would you like us to cover? 🫡
Get a Mayhem FlexJet “jet card” and you’ll be home whenever you want 😉
sounds expensive
I didn’t realize that CrossFit Games season preview meant hunting season during CrossFit season preview…. I’m not mad at it though.
Just a sprinkle of hunting to start the pod
@ it’s a world I always wanted to know more about and be more involved in. It’s appreciated because it’s a lens into the hunting world and Rich

Good talking points! Will try to get this added into the next pod 👍
Maybe the weekend Angelo was going to Kentucky already passed, but I highly recommend the Ark if you have time.
Thanks for the suggestion!

CrossFit as a methodology is not built around competition. Competition came from people wanting to push the methodology into that direction.
