Three Spring Chinook Salmon caught and one lost on the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon.

  • Two different fishing techniques were used on this trip. In Oregon City we were back trolling eggs and sand shrimp. In Milwaukie we were forward trolling 360 flashers. Our Garmin Livescope picked up two of the fish just before the rod buried although I didn't capture that on video. Fishing with David Pyle.

Some years ago we used a black with UV BYO Flasher with plug cut Herring and caught Springers almost every trip.

Awesome job David, I love watching your video's.. I see that you have a live-scope.. I salmon fish a lot myself and have been toying around with getting one. What's your opinion on them? are they worth the money & install? Also, what brand do you have? (Sorry for all the questions.).. Hope you have a great day : )

Once the Willamette clears it should be "game on".

My apologies. I do my best to say hello to everyone on the river but I'm usually juggling several tasks and easily distracted.

He probably didn’t hear you. David is one of the nicest, friendliest, least stuck up guys on the water.
