Man this was the best! We need more videos these days like this! Please keep sharing! It said see you next season for part 2 at the end? Is there one??
I wish I could have been around back then when the clackamas would load up with fish like that. It still gets fish for sure but it’s a lot different. Would like to see a remake of this with new cameras. Underwater salmon from Bob toman is great also
Its amazing how much these fisheries have changed in a relatively short amount of time... would be very interesting to revisit this episode. See how the river has changed, if the fish hold in the same areas and how fishing techniques differ from 30 years ago. Something i'm considering doing if the channel does well! Do you fish on the Clackamas regularly?
My Buddies Tyson And Rick and others fished springers on this river in the 80's 90's 2000's infact Ty has one of Bob's Original Boats. One of the first Alumawelds before it was Alimaweld. Great seeing this old footage. The pioneers for sure.
Farm raised fish do not act or feed the same. They'll slowly starve until they just start trying to eat everything....and will if they can fit it. Normally not healthy fish. Sores, discoloration, malnourished and they are very suseptible to disease.
I was raised within walking distance too Clackamas River. Its known more for steelhead rather than salmon. Highrocks was our playfield.

30 years later, clackamas salmon still don't bite... They still sit in that same hole below the mouth of eagle creek though.
Not near Eagle Creek. Below Carver. They do bite. Already 2 in Ris' boat.

Was that the cop they caught running a poaching ring with his buddies?
