I really needed to hear this. Back then, I used to walk daily back to get to high school. Over the years i been walking much less and less. The only time i would get active is if theres an incentive to it or a purposez such as going to work, or accomdating a friend of mine whenever they want to hang, or once in the blue moon when i visit a gym. I put on quite a muscle, yet i dont feel "fulfilled". I'm m tired of just wasting my time and sitting by at home doing nothing. Like you said, walking is for me, and i shouldn't have to be on stand by and accommodate others just for me to get out the door. Its time to show up for myself first. Haven't done so in a long time. I will start this today! Thank you very much for setting fire under my feet.
Mama Tenny, Yet another excellently presented and packed with great informative video. I have to fully agree with all you mentioned. I retired 5 years ago and could hardly walk around a city block if asked to do so at that time. Now five years later at 70, I walk on average 3 to 3.5 miles per day in just over an hour. Further more I have found it helps in all of my daily activities that is , giving me so much more energy and stamina to get through the day. After two years of daily walking I took up weight training three days per week. I have gotten so much inspiration from Will also. I believe I'm Will Tennyson's oldest subscriber.

I had no idea Gilmore Girls was filmed in Ontario! I was literally watching an old episode when I saw this video. The new Handmaid’s Tale was being filmed here my town this week. When I walk in the city, I like to listen to an audio book, but when I’m on the trails by the river, I like to take in the sounds of nature. You are an inspiration to anyone looking to improve their fitness!

Hi Mama Tenny, Walking is such good exercise. We had to stop for a while since my husband had foot surgery. What changes that caused! His A1C for diabetes went up to 8 so he's on two new meds. Finally, he has been released and we started walking again. I was doing the treadmill but not my favorite for sure. After a week we're back to 2.5 miles but I tripped and fell Thursday. Possible fractured elbow, black eye, and road rash on my noggin. Gee whiz. It's ok, though. We'll get through this and with the flowers blooming and a ton of new birds at the feeder, being outside is so much better. ! enjoy your videos. Have a nice weekend! ❤🌻

I'm 30 i workout every single week 4 workouts a day and i try walk every week from monday to sunday 5km.. every day to reach my steps :) i realized that exercise + walk helped me lose body fat even my goal is weight gain
Walking is the cheapest easiest therapy for us all... it's so easy to go for a walk and you can listen to music, listen to an audio book, talk to a friend or family member, I go walking every morning and it's the best!
Wow! Firstly, your skills in editing etc are amazing. This video was both interesting and entertaining, so thank you so much for that (& thanks to Victoria for filming😊) When you said that walking is moving meditation, that is exactly what it is! I put my headphones in, listen to music and just completely zone out. I've also just started with audiobooks and, yeah I get what you mean about how it's different, but also good. I also like to listen to the audio of my favourite childhood movies when I'm in need of comfort. The area around your home is absolutely gorgeous 😍 I particularly liked the bridge and bright blue sky. So beautiful. Walking is such a powerful thing and one of the perks is that it's free! I walk 25k steps a day now. I was 367lbs at the start of 2020 I'm now 144lbs just by walking. I had my lowest point that Christmas and decided to walk not to lose weight just to feel better. Then it became a addiction I look forward to walking when I get up now

@@MamaTenny I've always struggled with depression, Around Christmas 2020 I was really low. I was listening to the same song over and over crying none stop. I was barely eating as well. Then I decided that I would go on walks because that was something I used to do before Covid. It wasn't that much at first around 5k steps a day then near the end of 2021 around 15k. I lost a lot of weight that year but it wasn't the goal, it was just to feel better. I did struggle with eating that year though, I was basically on OMAD all year. Then I set a goal of 10 miles a day for 2022 something I did, but I got obsessed with the weight loss at this point. Funnily enough I came across your sons video on the average American diet around August 2022, And in it he talked about lifting weights, Giving me the idea of joining a gym. I did later in the year. At this point I was getting low on weight, Despite that I carried on losing weight, In till I started have some health issues caused from losing too much weight. Then realized I needed to gain weight, But I didn't want it to just be fat so I joined a gym around November. I've not had many low points in the last 2 years from my depression, and I contribute that to the walking. Despite it being for the best I cut back I just don't want to risk it, Plus it makes me feel good.
I looove walking as well. Right now I am trying to get my husband on board. I live in Geneva and this city has a beautiful lake to walk around so it is really inviting!

Hi Lygia, thank you for your comment, and you’re right, we all truly enjoy being together! Growing up, we have always been the house they could all bring their friends to. I wanted to know what’s going on!! I am always a mom first and a friend second. Sometimes you have to be the “ bad guy” and say NO! As for fitness, it’s always been a part of me and the kids all just knew that I worked out or went to the gym. I was lucky in that I only ever worked part time. The full time working moms are true hero’s to me!

Great video! We love walking! Our 3 and 5 year old ride their bikes and my spouse and I walk. It’s a great family activity that we make time for every night (weather permitting).
Great advice! I like the podcast suggestions, truth is definitely stranger than fiction. I have loved walking for years. it is the safest exercise for me with degenerative disc disease and a few fused levels in my back. I walk 10k steps on my treadmill most days. Even though I am limited exercise wise, being able to walk still getting in a good exercise always puts me in a good mood.

I love my parents i really do... but i wish they had the same approach, respect, view and love toward fitness, health & food. Not a hundred percent sure, but sure enough to make a comment. I think i might be the only fitness enthusiast in the family. One thing i know for sure, regardless of whether my 5 year old son will grow to be interested in this lifestyle in the future. Supporting him and guiding him is gonna be main priority because his health is important. Simple as that. The Tennyson days are unquestionably *one* of my favourite days
Your son is very lucky to have you Mathias! I feel exactly the same about health and fitness, always making it a priority and hoping we are leading by example. My own parents were not remotely interested, terrible diets, no exercise so we are proof that we don’t have to go down the same path! You may change the rest of them yet! Appreciate your comment 😘

My response is usually; i intend to stay fairly lean and healthy. Why gain unnecessary weight when there are no health benefit correlated to it, unless you lift and want to get stronger. Who wants to Yo-yo diet all the time? None. Other peoples weight shouldn't be of anyone's concern if it is not visibly unhealthy, which can be related to other issues that they must seek professional help to deal with. This is why i love your & Will's channel and what you are about 🤍
Yep! I walked ten miles today. And I did a strength workout!🙂I was very happy about it. Daddy called me obsessive for it, but it was fun and unplanned!🙂

I love walking and also hiking! My hubby and I try to get out every day for a few miles, but I sometimes go on my own and listen to audiobooks or a podcast. Also a true crime junkie over here. Check out the Cold Podcast Season 1, all about Susan Powell. I also really like Unfounded and 10 to Life with Annie Elise. Gavin Fish does a really good true crime channel but I think he's only on YT, he has a very nice voice.

Hi Lygia, thank you for your comment, and you’re right, we all truly enjoy being together! Growing up, we have always been the house they could all bring their friends to. I wanted to know what’s going on!! I am always a mom first and a friend second. Sometimes you have to be the “ bad guy” and say NO! As for fitness, it’s always been a part of me and the kids all just knew that I worked out or went to the gym. I was lucky in that I only ever worked part time. The full time working moms are true hero’s to me!

We love walking! Our 3 and 5 year old ride their bikes and my spouse and I walk. It’s a great family activity that we make time for every night (weather permitting).

Great advice! I like the podcast suggestions, truth is definitely stranger than fiction. I have loved walking for years. it is the safest exercise for me with degenerative disc disease and a few fused levels in my back. I walk 10k steps on my treadmill most days. Even though I am limited exercise wise, being able to walk still getting in a good exercise always puts me in a good mood.

I love my parents i really do... but i wish they had the same approach, respect, view and love toward fitness, health & food.
Not a hundred percent sure, but sure enough to make a comment.
I think i might be the only fitness enthusiast in the family.
One thing i know for sure, regardless of whether my 5 year old son will grow to be interested in this lifestyle in the future.
Supporting him and guiding him is gonna be main priority because his health is important. Simple as that.

Your son is very lucky to have you Mathias! I feel exactly the same about health and fitness, always making it a priority and hoping we are leading by example. My own parents were not remotely interested, terrible diets, no exercise so we are proof that we don’t have to go down the same path! You may change the rest of them yet! Appreciate your comment 😘

Forgot to add this-- because i am conscious of what i put into my body, i often get comments i shouldn't be thinking about my weight because i am already thin. My response is usually; i intend to stay fairly lean and healthy. Why gain unnecessary weight when there are no health benefit correlated to it, unless you lift and want to get stronger. Who wants to Yo-yo diet all the time? None. Other peoples weight shouldn't be of anyone's concern if it is not visibly unhealthy, which can be related to other issues that they must seek professional help to deal with. This is why i love your & Will's channel and what you are about 🤍

I love walking and also hiking! My hubby and I try to get out every day for a few miles, but I sometimes go on my own and listen to audiobooks or a podcast. Also a true crime junkie over here. Check out the Cold Podcast Season 1, all about Susan Powell. I also really like Unfounded and 10 to Life with Annie Elise. Gavin Fish does a really good true crime channel but I think he's only on YT, he has a very nice voice.
