This was the first time i played a game where AI were actually helping ! The feeling of cooperation was amazing !

The first half of this game, I literally hung back and let my team kill almost all the enemies just because they were so good at it!

It can't the company who made it went bankrupted. Sadly, i would buy this game in a heart beat if it was remastered.
This game introduction gave you a team, made you feel safe around them, but slowly reality kicks in and you're force to witness their deaths. Then you have to walk alone and experience the nightmare.
A remastered for this game should be a priority.

The team's death really set a dark atmosphere for the rest of the game. Personally, I don't support Remasters/Remakes. You can get the game on PC.

I LOVED that in the multiplayer of this game you had some different/cool soldier character models to pick from, but in today's gaming industry, all multiplayer character appearance options are locked behind microtransactions.
area51 was from the golden age of gaming before the cancer of microtransactions/etc ruined the industry.
Not necessarily all of them. There are quite a few games where you can just earn new character models through gameplay. But then again, you have to keep in mind that back then, development costs were most likely at least 10 times as small as what they are nowadays, and inflation hadn't shrunk developers' earnings so much. In 2005, it was still possible to cover a game's costs just through direct game sales, which would mean bankruptcy for most multiplayer games nowadays.
This game was tough for me as a kid. And it scared the shit outta me too

This game was so stimulating to my imagination when I was a kid. To this day I have recurring dreams about discovering a new level or secret location deep inside area 51 lol. I legitimately have a dream about this game once every 2-3 months.
My favorite part was when I finally got that special Alien gun that shot three-round bursts of adhesive exploding energy balls. The best thing was that the ammo automatically regenerated over time.

The graphics is impressive for those times, but it can barely keep up with low-budget indie games today. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be played, ofc.

This was the second console game I played first was Halo the old games just have more meaning story behind it and a reason to love it games today don't have much of a story and don't got much of a reason to love it I just love the old game so much more

I really digged his voice as edgar. I thought David Duchovny's voice never fit the MCs face. But the X-files was and still is my favorite show, so I let it slide.

When you turn into your alien mode you can use the parasites to rebuild your health.

I liked how they introduced aliens. They seemed curious to a fault. Just staring at you. Then others were performing an autopsy on a living specimen. Looking at you and then back at their work. When you went through their ship, it wasn''t clear if you were their enemy. They seemed uncaring about your presence and only their automated defenses fought against you.
Some good memories here, might as well bring out the list of nastalgia. Halo CE, halo 2, freedom fighters, the punisher, cod 3, the thing, stubs the zombie, ghost recon island thunder, ghost recon 2, Black, starwars battlefront, starwars battlefront 2 :), Wacked, driver, gta vc, gta san andreas, madden 04, socom us navy seals thats all i can remember Atm. Loved these games...

I remember this game’s demo from the Mortal Kombat Deception disc. Fun memories I used to have with it on my PS2.
I just remember the guns feeling great in this game. Recoil, screenshake, and sound go a long way.

Me and my pal who lived two doors down used to play this all the time. Then I moved and I haven't seen him in like 8 years. Haven't thought of him until I saw this in my feed.
Oh the memories... This game helped me a great deal to overcome my fear of extraterrestrials. I was so terrified of them to a point where I couldn't stare the night sky out of fear to find a UFO. Nevertheless, and as I was scared shitless I played the whole game... and I loved it.

I remember I played this on the original Xbox as a youngin’ and I only had the demo so I had to play the same level over and over again. I loved how intense it felt, I would turn the TV up to volume 50 lol. Thanks for uploading the gameplay of the whole story!

I always hated how it doesn't appear that your character isnt wearing gloves like the other hazmats.
He did in the demo, but not in the final version for some reason, and it always irked me. I think it's what made me put gloves on all of my customizable characters since then lmao.
That always pissed me off too, at the time when I played this like 9 years ago, I literally knew that they wore the hazmats to protect themselves, why wouldn’t you have full protective equipment as well?
Probably a oversight on the developers part but according to kakokapolei123
in the demo he did have gloves on which is really strange considering in the final game he does not wear them at all...
In the later parts it made sense because he already ahh..eh. But before then. He really shoulda had those gloves.

I remember an arcade game that has the name Area 51. It was in a mall movie theater at the time and I was hooked on it and I played it for the first time though I never finished it. This video has sent a wave of nostalgic through me and now I wish to play the arcade game again and re experience my childhood ( and probably beat it while at it ).

Oh the shotgun... I remember when I played it as a kid, it was my favorite weapon, still is too. The difference now is that I can truly appreciate how badass a run 'n' gun double shotgun wielding Cole is.
I always loved the arcade feeling of this game. I always did my best to kill as many as the Illuminati scientists and aliens as possible to get back at them for what they have done.
I also love how the game touched on as many conspiracy theories as much as possible, like the government knowing about Atlantis and Big Foot.
This brings back memories from when I used to play this on my PlayStation 2

I remember playing the demo on the old demo disks back in the day. Only game on the disk I couldn’t play cause it scared me so much as a kid. Honestly it’s aged pretty decently. And I remember when shooting the flags and seeing holes in them was insane for it’s time

Years ago I bought this game for the Xbox Original thinking it would be compatible with the 360, it wasn't. I gave it to a cousin who didn't upgrade to the PS3, 360 era of consoles, didn't appreciate the game as much as I had and probably threw it away.

I love this game. Ever since I was little I've always played this gamebecause it's a really good game and it has good gameplay. I played it n the original Xbox. A remake must be done. And the funnest part of the game is the beginning because you have teammates and then they all died right in front of you in the game

This is how you “Storm Area 51”.
I really like scanner in this game. It is a clever way to add "'hacking"' in a game or press F to continue mechanic more organically. I especially like that you can scan more items and get molecular structure of a scanned item. That is a really brilliant touch.
Really liked the first part of the game where you was going as a team.

Just finished the game on PC after last playing it on PS2 15-16 years ago. The version I downloaded had fixed FOV with patches but had some lag in some places and the game would crash if tried setting it on high performance, it was still a blast though. Great game with awesome old school atmosphere.

I remember playing Mortal Kombat Deception (though I didn't remember the exact name of it.) as a kid and playing the included demo for this game. For the last decade and a half I haven't been able to recall its name but I found Deception last night and found out from that. I remember wanting to try this game out so bad from playing that demo repeatedly.
