7:13 just figured I would comment this is really easy to miss, the little clips will sometimes clip down but if you move the connecter around a little it will come right out and with the wiring overlapping it may be hard to notice. Car wouldn't start and threw a drivetrain malfunction even though I was positive that I clipped them all in and sure enough #6 was not clipped in.

Thanks for the video. I just did it with my supra, very easy. The hardest step was to find out that the one connector is backwards🙈 that cost me a few minutes to find out🙈🤣

I ordered though your link when I saw the video go up, and got it 3 days later. I'm already unlocked with MHD stage 1, too bad I wont be using it until I need to lock/unlock again for inspection.
I didn't need to lock my ECU. I told the local shop that I'm tuned. He said as long as I don't have a check engine light. Got my inspection/emissions done.
Different places have different emissions requirements. Some places do an obd scan to check for tuning
I got this for the sole reason to do a MHD Stage 0 to remove the VMax of 130 mph BMW put on G20 M340s without high performance summer tires. This is limiting on some tracks for track days. Yes, check the DME connections, as mine were clipped but not tight and wouldn't start, then would crank but not start, etc. Tricky.
Does the ignition need to be on/off? Doors Open/closed? Seatbelt on? Great video BTW, very excited, tool finally got released!
Can i use this to unlock my dme for bootmod3?
yes but you will still need an mhd flasher license to use the tool
I just did my Supra. It took my longer to hook up my Supra to the tender than it did for the DME unlocker to do its thing lol

You will need a mhd liscense to use the mhd unlocking tool
At minimum you need the MHD Flasher license to unlock, but then you should be able to use whatever tuning platform you want.

Hi Kevin, There is a new update for xHp flashtool and they have included the Ignition-cut Shifting feature. Could you make a video explaining how we can take advantage of this new feature and how we can use and configure it? I understand that with this new parameter, we can have the braap on every gear change and make them more audible... what I don't quite understand is at what RPM and NM would be ideal to set it.

I have a 2018 340i msport 6mt FBO w/dorch stg2 on MHD e50 custom tune. I always get the check engine light for the crankcase hose faulty or disconnected, I'm assuming because of my intake but I always check the Cid to make sure it's not something else and almost every time I check there is a shadow code for "CDA506- message (services 19 of EGS) missing, receiver DME, transmitter of EGS." I can't seem to find out what it means, do you happen to know what it is? The car definitely seems slower than other FBO 340i's I've seen. Best I've ever done at the track was 12.6 not sure what's going on... any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is why Dinan Handheld tuner is so nice. Stage 1 and ECU can be locked or unlocked in my own garage. Also 100oct stage 1 kicks hard.
Great video! Will this work on my M850i? its a 2019 and requires a bench unlock. Also it has 2 DMEs how this will work? one at a time?

The say hit wrks with s63 but I dont understand how it would work with s63 since the s63 has two dmes....

hi, great content btw, keep it up. quick question, i have 2020 mkv supra i just bought 1 month ago. previous owner was old lady that had it. only has 4k miles on it so far. the dme date is 5/3/2019 as i pulled out to check, ordered super mhd license tried to flash with key and gave me this note, UNLOCKED REQUIRED, CAR IS EQUIPPED W/THE LATEST BMW SOFTWARE UPDATE (NEW TUNING PROTECTION). SAYS I NEED ONE TIME BENCHFLASH IN ORDER TO JAIL BREAK THE DME TO ALLOW FLASHING VIA OBD PORT. WILL I HAVE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER LICENSE TO GET A KEY FOR THE UNLOCKER OR CAN I USE THE THE KEY PROVIDED FROM THE SUPER LICENSE F/G SERIES MKV PLATFORM.
you can use the key you have. just get a bench unlock.

software updates are ok, this will still work.
This works with iOS as well? Last I talked to bimecu they only had unlockers that would work with the pre-release version of MHD available on android only

so this product is basicly vin-locked to my mhd flasher license? or am i able to unlock other cars aswell with it, while using my own license from my car if i get the mhd stuff?
the device isn't vin locked, but you need an mhd super license + mhd account for any car you plan on using it on

or whoever owns the car can provide their phone/mhd details and you can use the device on their cars.
Hello, I have some questions because I tried this myself and it is saying that the car has too low of voltage (below 11.5 volts) but a multimeter reads 12.5 and the DME code in MHD reads 11.65 volts. After it did not let me unlock, I plugged all the clips back for the DME and immediately got codes on the dash for ABS and drivetrain, after fiddling with the cables until I was sure they were right the only code left is 135808 Valvetronic servomotor position sensor. Let me know what I should do, thanks.
disconnect your battery for 15 minutes let the car go to sleep. and then get a battery charger to bring up the voltage.
That sucks bro.. where you able to get it situated?? Just tried unlocking mine and same thing happened.. disconnected the battery and then will go check up

only for unlocking. then you flash with your phone and the mhd app
for whatever reason my unlocker wont connect. flashed back to stock. connections are right, it connects then says connection errors ..

Hey I have a question it may seem dumb but would I be able to use any m240i dme from a previous gen put it into my 2020 m240 that needed to be sent over to femto. Swap the older dme with the prev. Gen flash it using the bench unlock tool. I just dont want to get the bench unlocker and dme then find out I still have to ship the dme that is in the car to femto.
DMEs are Vin Locked. You can buy an older DME but then you will need to get it cloned with your stock DME

I have been trying to unlock my 2016 340i with this tool, but every time it says the voltage is below 11.5v. The digital multimeter and battery charger voltage both read 12.5v. After charging my car I still have same issue. Waiting to hear back from MHD

@@goatisnice I reached out to MHD and I was told to Download Unlocker.2.24.bin to your phone. It’s a file in Google drive that’s downloaded and updates the bench unlocker tool. The tool needs to be connected to battery, but not connected to the DME in order to update. Then it can be plugged into the DME and bench unlocked. I was provided links by MHD but I don’t know if I am allowed to post it or if the one link is unique to me. Hope this helps

Does the bench unlock tool come with it's own license or do I need a tuning license from MHD in order to use it. Asking become I alright have a BM3 license. Really not looking to buy another one.

The easiest way to check is to download the mhd app and connect to your car to run their unlock checker. If you have an OBD adapter then you can check for free using their app.
Can you unplug the DME while the battery is connected?
Yes but probably safer to unplug it first. But it must be plugged back in to do the unlock

Presumably yes but I haven't tried. And you need an MHD license to use it.

Wish ecutek will update there software for the post 2020 June DME femto unlocks.
they don't want to work with femto because it would expose proprietary parts of their software
Is this method only if you’re using mhd tuner? What if I plan to go bm3?
it believe it will work for any flash software, but you need an mhd license to do the actual unlock.

do i flash my car while the tool is still plugged in or after i unlocked it and plug back in dme connector and use wifi adapter?
after unlock, remove it and connect to the adapter to flash as normal
