    I would just like to point out that Yelich led this group in fWAR last season, has an MVP in the bag, and his statcast page is very pretty. Definitely deserves a top spot more than Reynolds.

    As a Rays fan I appreciate that Jolly went to bat for Luke, he was a platoon guy for us but he was so effective at his role, love that guy

    Tough for me to agree with many of jolly’s takes. I thought he was always over glorifying players who arent deserving and underselling players who are

      Are you kidding? It's clear he is the only one out of the three that knows ball. Jake keeping Steven Kwan at the fourth tier is ridiculous, he at least belongs in the third tier. A 9.3 war in two seasons at the left field position is insane.

      ​@@adu3830 Yeah, but look how you're even phrasing that. "9.3 WAR in two seasons"...because that split is 5.5 then 3.6. Also, if you break down that 5.5 WAR it's 4.0 offensive, 1.0 defensive....then the 2023 is 1.9 offensive, 1.2 defensive. That's a massive drop both from year to year and in a specific category.
      Am I saying he won't end up third tier in time? No. Am I saying RIGHT NOW he's fourth tier? Yes.

    Jolly olive can’t be taken seriously with anything Mets related including kelenic. No offense but Jeff McNeil clearly has fallen off from his peak a couple years ago.

      Kelenic has been awful outside of the first half (mainly first month) of last season. The conversation surrounding Kelenic seems fair overall. Jolly was not far off here.

      Falling off and still accounting for 2.5 WAR? Pretty sick tbf
      Especially since the Mets paid him a third of the total a 2.5 WAR season is hypothesized to be worth (1 WAR is worth 8 mil, they paid him 6).

    Nootbaar is the 4th best OF option on the Cardinals team, but he's a media darling with high OBP. He's basically Bader 2.0

      Nootbaar just put up a 3.2 fWAR last season, 2nd best on the Cardinals and more than Edman, Carlson, and Walker combined

      @joshuameyer1382 in total value they're not far off, but Noot is a career 117 wRC+ with a .780 OPS. He's a 3.9 fWAR/600 PA player.
      Bader is still a strong player thanks to baserunning and defense, but his hitting is very weak at a 92 wRC+ and a .706 OPS. But he does provide strong overall value at 3.7 fWAR/600
      Same player nowhere close. Same value, kinda.
      But Noot has another level in there

      @joshuameyer1382 You said he was the 4th best OFer on the Cardinals and those three are his competition. He also had a 3.3 bWAR so both sites are in agreement that he's a really good player

    I think Marsh is better than Kwan, both are elite defenders but Marsh's offensive potential is higher. (As he showed last year)

    You know I'm definitely not a Yankees fan at all but i still like to hear what they gotta say. I actually thought of something cuz I love baseball but I don't have the slightest knowledge about players stats and what not or I'd make another podcast about baseball and how I love my team too but it's OK can't be good at everything.     The Yankees had 4 guys with a 100+ OPS last year, only 8 guys with an 87+ OPS and 150+ ABs.
    Andrew Benitendi may not be smacking a .300 BA last year, but he was effective enough to have a positive WAR despite his dismal OPS+ and wouldve slotted as the yankees 7th best everyday player by WAR last year.
    He's fallen, but it doesn't mean he's bad. Id still take him on a team looking to get good again

    How is Christian Yelich below Ian Happ? I am a cubs fan and that is insane. Guy won an MVP. Better hitter and also comparable fielder to Happ.

      I think Happ is a better defensive player (just not last year) and will be going forward, but yeah he has been barely above League average with the bat. Little Rude to yelich, but I'm guessing it's cause Happ works for them

    Randy is awful in the field. Baseball savant grades Randy as 10th percentile for Outs Above Average. All of his defensive metrics are well below average. He is better offensively, but his batting average is continually falling year-on-year. Sure he has had one all-time postseason, but hasn't been able to reach those heights again..

    Nootbaar had a higher OPS+ than reynolds, and walked almost as much as he struck out (14.3BB% vs 19.7K%) along with a ton of other stats. Top 5 for sure, shot at #1 if you ask me

    For me it's obvious that Jolly Olive knows far more about baseball than Jake and his sidekick. The Kwan rating is absolutely ridiculous. This man has a 9.3 bwar in two seasons, and at left field of all positions. He is also an on base god.
