It's wild that Larry Walker never, in a 17 year career, had an OPS+ under 110. Literally no bad years. No average years. Just good-to-great hitting 17 years in a row.
"When is the Expos vid coming out, Jolly?" It comes out after Jolly watches the Triumph & Tragedy video, just to make sure he doesn't simply duplicate it because it's a masterpiece.
Lol @ Jolly being wrong about what the Rod Barajas video is about, it just focused on his 2012 season and why even though he had one of the worst seasons ever in terms of throwing runners out, it actually wasn't his fault at all
I would NOT have been able to guess Rod Barajas if the edit didn't include Bailey blind guessing him and putting his name in my head but as soon as I saw the page I knew it was him.
Nah, I don’t think so. There used to be a pitcher in the late 2000s maybe early 2010s that used to be used as a pinch runner. Hes right on the tip of my tongue dang it!
Absolutely nailed the Trivia question instantly. (More due to Jimmy vs Jake Paper Football and Jimmy's "BUEHRLE" he'd yell when taking a shot without planning)
I love these videos so much, but i gotta call this out: you said Barajas BEFORE you showed his ref page. I like to play along with you guys and pause the video to see if I can get the answer, and you blew that one for me before I got a chance to try :( Now that I got that off my chest...thanks for all the quality work you guys do. I look forward to this show every week.
Got the first immediately, had no idea who the second was, knew which video was the third but couldn’t remember the name, but then I was so back for baseball’s speedrunner.
Damn my blind guess for Hard was Jeff Mathis. But Jeff Mathis was the first Foolish Baseball video I saw, and Rod Barajas was the video where my username was featured for being a new Patron. Anyways good thing I've seen every Foolish Baseball video because the trivia question was super easy. Still hoping for a 90s All-Stars round.
If he did it for a full season he probably would've won, but he played 127 games of the season, so as far as total value he only played 4 of every 5 games. But yes, he hit amazingly well.
Was the Barajas video the one where his speed at throwing to second base was made to look worse than it was because the pitchers took too long to deliver the pitch?
I convinced myself medium had more gold gloves than he has and was racking my brain for Braves, Angels SS that's NOT *name here* before finally deciding it was
You should have given everyone else people that Foolish did videos on, but give Foolish players that jolly did videos on, and just watch him be confused about when he did a video on like david wright
This was really easy, which makes me sad. Also, as a Phillies fan, I also got hard because he was a Phillie in 07 and I have his card. Also also, I would've loved it if you made hard Bobby Wallace, and made really hard Hal Smith.
Nah Rolen was definitely supported by the sabermetric crowd. I remember a lot of oldheads complaining that Rolen lowered the bar (dumb take since he’s pretty clearly a HOFer)
the blind guesses just ruin it, that is back to back weeks the blind guess ruined one of them for me.. Not that i would have prolly gotten that one anyways
Statistically, Jeter was the worst defender at his position pretty consistently, so that isn't hard too do. Simmons was legitimately good at his position. He made Jeter look like a little leaguer.
Because people didn't usually just say he was a better defender, but a better player. And even at his best Simmons was not on Jeter's level offensively. Was also pretty close to the same time people were saying Kimbrel was the new Mo, which was similarly nonsense.
Defender for sure but way worse player, Simmons was massively overrated/hyped at the time. Dude had like 1 year where he would of been my first choice at SS, I’d rather have a slightly above average defender and bat than just the best defender that had 3/11 years with an ops atleast of 100 and all 3 were barely over.
Max is the type of nerd who tries to act like he’s not a nerd but he is a nerd. Max just lean in to your role man. You’re a nerd, be a nerd. Stop using phrases like “light work”

Roids also
Only hof of 2025
"Bad at everything? What do you mean ? Look at his.....
His um.......
Career hits!"
Never change, McFly
Bailey assuming it would be rod barajas is hilarious
We all knew that deep down, we had a Rod in us ready to make an appearance.
That '97 Larry Walker season is insane...
Larry Walker was an absolute beast
Of course Bailey would correctly blindly guess my uncle Rod Barajas!
tell your uncle that we love him
Tell him we all know he could throw
🔥
Almost like he saw a video about rod
@@passdagabagoul4369 He made the video. Bailey is FoolishBaseball. He makes Baseball Bits.
Bailey on JM Baseball? This went straight to the top of the queue
You should check out his videos with Jake on Jake's channel!
Might need to put this in my hidden folder if you know what I mean

Going into hard, I was just like "Alright, Tim LoCastro, Jeff Mathis or Rod Barajas, which one is it gonna be?" and got a big smile at Barajas

I was gonna say it was because all those Pirates pitchers took 2 hours to deliver to the plate
That Rod Barajas video was legendary
Really funny I remember Rod Barajas as a Phillies catcher and he was only there half a season lol
That hard cut from Bailey saying “Rod Barajas” to the silhouette of a catchers helmet made me genuinely laugh out loud. Thank you for that, Jack
I would NOT have been able to guess Rod Barajas if the edit didn't include Bailey blind guessing him and putting his name in my head but as soon as I saw the page I knew it was him.
Hey! If you can do players who played for Cardinals-Giants (since they play at Rickwood Field next week), that'll be great!
They film videos like weeks in advance
I know Ross Stripling pinch ran for the Dodgers early in his career, idk when the last time he pinch ran was, but he definitely did some early on.
Putting Hal Smith as the hard one would have been hilarious
Jimmy was locked in this episode!
I wonder if Jake was thinking of Max Fried, he pinch ran in Miami in I think 2019 and scored from first on a double, he was MOVING
Nah, I don’t think so. There used to be a pitcher in the late 2000s maybe early 2010s that used to be used as a pinch runner. Hes right on the tip of my tongue dang it!

Rod Barajas goes nuts
Easiest 5 points ever. Thank god I watch Bailey’s second channel all the time
Got the first immediately, had no idea who the second was, knew which video was the third but couldn’t remember the name, but then I was so back for baseball’s speedrunner.
It would be great to see a hall-of-famer edition of this or one of players before 1950
Although also most of those guys barely moved teams, so that would be pretty different from the usual
@@ferdinandpenguin some did though and you definitely could use them, plus maybe they could throw in a former Negro League player

I think this is the first RefGuess where I knew every one right away. And I've never watched FoolishBaseball.
Rod Barajas was the Jays Catcher when I started watching baseball forgot he was only there those 2 years
mark buerhle was so cool. as a kid i loved those white sox teams, i look at them a lot more fondly now
Simmons was actually able to play his position, so he is better than Jeter.
I knew Rod Barajas but I'm a Dbacks fan.
Unreal that Guy #1 hit .379!! with 37 HR and 115 RBI and ended up as MVP-10 that year.
If he did it for a full season he probably would've won, but he played 127 games of the season, so as far as total value he only played 4 of every 5 games. But yes, he hit amazingly well.
Late 90s baseball was a wild time
Huge Jm baseball, foolish baseball/bailey fan, and mark buehrle is my favorite player of all time. The universe blessed me today
Was the Barajas video the one where his speed at throwing to second base was made to look worse than it was because the pitchers took too long to deliver the pitch?
mark buehrle video is one of the GOATs
Poor Shelfy getting bodied on the daily.
Respect future HOFer Mark Buehrle
2 weeks in a row of spoiling an answer 😕
Joez, my immediate guess was also
John Jaso but this guy didn’t have enough Tampa time, but I had no other guesses
I went to a Mark Buehrle and Carl Pavano game between the twins and white sox that was sub 2 hours and they both threw complete games.
3/3 and the bonus. Let’s go.
Com'on guys that's Larry Walkerrrrr!!!!
Corner OF for STL and it wasn't Chris Duncan or Juan Encarnacion? Savagery.
I love this collab!
Letting Jimmy pinch hit for a grand slam is wild.
Foolish is so goated
I convinced myself medium had more gold gloves than he has and was racking my brain for Braves, Angels SS that's NOT *name here* before finally deciding it was
We love Bailey
this has to be the nerdiest baseball series
BBD kinda looks like the answer to the bonus round.
giving jimmy free points. he deserves it.
Was thinking Damien Miller
Was Clay Buchholz the pinch-running pitcher Jake was trying to think of?
Was jake talking about lorenzen for the pitcher that was fast?
I believe Andrelton Simmons has retired as of this past winter
You should have given everyone else people that Foolish did videos on, but give Foolish players that jolly did videos on, and just watch him be confused about when he did a video on like david wright
Bailey and Jolly, we would be best friends irl haha I swear
im still waiting for Joey Wendle to be in one of these
This was really easy, which makes me sad. Also, as a Phillies fan, I also got hard because he was a Phillie in 07 and I have his card.
Also also, I would've loved it if you made hard Bobby Wallace, and made really hard Hal Smith.
Bailey sniping it is hilarious
Simmons disrespect is ridiculous. Gold glove contender every year and NEVER STRUCK OUT MORE THAN 67 times. That’s impressive itself
Jason marquis used to pinch run
Andrelton lasted a year here in Minnesota because he was a locker room cancer.
Is it weird for me to say I got all the questions right except for Larry Walker…
I don’t think anybody thought Simba was better than Jeter
I got all of the answers instantly 😂
You should a video with only under 5 10 players
Hard should've been Old Hoss Radborn
Shout out Rod Barajas, has the same birthday as me
Wait did Max really try to call out other people who got stuffed in their locker in school?
Has Matt Stairs made a refguess appearance yet??
What is BBD’s hat? I need that
Love the collab ❤
I got the first two very quickly.
Mark Buerle
Spoiler
I really want buehrle to be medium, but then got to the trivia and i was like ah there it is
Would love if you could get Jon Bois on
Foolish filling in for Jomboy doesn’t seem fair? Or am I wrong
joez i love you my man but how do you not get larry walker 😭😭
Larry Walker is very obvious
Joez, we know that you know that it's Larry Walker...stop it.
I dont think Jolly watched the Rod Barajas video
Yo, those last few seasons of Simba's not good, but have people given up on him too soon? Look at what Profar's doing right now
mike Leake would pinch run
I feel like the super nerds are the ones who say rolen shouldn't be in the HOF
Nah Rolen was definitely supported by the sabermetric crowd. I remember a lot of oldheads complaining that Rolen lowered the bar (dumb take since he’s pretty clearly a HOFer)
no old haus radbourne????
How tf did Larry Walker finish 1.168 ops with a GG and finish 10th in mvp voting???

i see foolish bailey in a video
i goon
Day 4 of asking for an ERA+ or OPS+ draft
Free points for Jimmy.... 🙄
the blind guesses just ruin it, that is back to back weeks the blind guess ruined one of them for me.. Not that i would have prolly gotten that one anyways
Why is Jake so salty that Simmons was a better defender than Jeter? That's not an opinion, it's a fact.
