If anyone is interested, I made an add on video to this one comparing this controller to an official Gamecube controller & also to a cheap third party controller. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/aAs8GCE7xtU/видео.htmlsi=tYafB-p9onIrtuO4
I have been waiting for a video since NYXI started shipping to decide if I wanted this or not. Thank you for uploading! Subbing.
I have a question about the analog triggers. Do they have a click like the original GameCube triggers?
@@MegaNorm64No they just push down without a clicking sound
Thank you for reviewing this controller, thing looks sick amd provides a lot of functionality, specially that gamecube dongle,
MUST HAVE!
The dongle doesn't need to charge
a battery, the USB-C is for connecting it to a
computer, because it's also compatible with 2.4
GHz on Windows
I recently discovered that so now I’m glad to know I don’t have to hook that cable up every time I use my Gamecube
I’ve been waiting for a review! Thank you for the review I’ll be subbing. I bought a nyxi wizard and chaos controller, i returned the wizard because the down input on the left stick is not registering half of the time maybe it’s defective also the material on the sticks are cheap the wear and tear is fast. The nyxi chaos is going good so far but I feel like it’s not for I like the octagon notches. I want to try the warrior but they don’t deliver where I live so I have to wait when Amazon carries it. I wish the left stick got a better material like the GameCube controllers. I appreciate the review. FYI smash bro ultimate the game I played.
Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a Gamecube-like controller on PC, so this seems to be a good fit. Just wanted to add that according to the user manual from their website, it seems that the type-c port on the GC receiver is actually for plugging to PC, so you can play on PC with 2.4G wireless connection. Also, it seems that if you press X + Pair button on controller, you can pair the controller to PC with XInput mode instead of Pro controller mode.
That’s actually quite interesting, I didn’t know about that
So I actually tried this because I was trying to pair it normally with my PC but it wasn’t working, so I tried the other solution with the pair button & the X button & it worked, but it recognized it as an Xbox controller
Does the gamecube dongle charge when the gamecube is on? Or does it need to be charged separately?
I just tried it & yes it works with the Gamecube on without the charging cable
How Is the trigger lock on your ZL? So if you put both locks on and press hard on the left, is there a bit of extra give as opposed to the right one? There is for me. It's not a dealbreaker or issue for me but it is noticeable.
The back buttons where you can slide them up or down is to adjust the trigger where you can have push down all the way or not
They should work the same for both trigger buttons
I want to really know the latency, and its receptiveness to complex prescise inputs for smash bros.
Well thankfully this thing has very low latency so there’s no input lag, & I was playing Smash Ultimate the other day with a friend with this controller & it was extremely responsive
21:01 The windsocks mean Spring Cleaning. (Revenge of the 5th or Golden Week depending on your area) It's pretty clever you recorded the footage on Star Wars Day, which overshadows the Golden Week's Greenery Day for some reason.
Can you confirm if the dpad is using 8 microswitches? Like is there a mouse click with each cardinal and diagonal direction?
I’ll have to test it later I’m not at home right now
I just got the purple one today. Yes, the d-pad is 8-way microswitches. Probably most similar to my Vader 3 Pro. I'd say the inner radius is much smaller on the Warrior though so might be more prone to user error, but is easier/faster to activate if that makes any sense? I think I prefer the d-pad on the Warrior.
@@Woodzta That was very helpful! Thanks. I owned a Vader 3 Pro at some point so i know how that dpad feels. Also owned the Flydigi Direwolf controller previously, but was disappointed that dpad only used 4 microswitches for its dpad.
Per manual of the controller, another way to pair to PC is by holding the middle button and the button and what I found is that this pairs it as an Xbox controller rather than a pro controller. It's a bit funky to use on other games that use the traditional style controller, but I am sure what time we will all get used to it lol
Someone brought this up to me & I tried it out because the normal pairing wasn’t working on my PC & I thought it was pretty interesting. Although having it recognized as an Xbox controller, it won’t work for certain apps like BetterJoy, which is a controller app I use to be able to play the classic GTA trilogy with a controller on my PC
Hey dont know if you have Mario 3D All-Stars but if you do, how does this work with Mario Sunshine. Does Sunshine treat this as a Gamecube controller with full Analog Trigger support or does it only see it as a Pro controller.
My brother has 3D All Stars, I’d have to sneak past him to borrow his copy but I can try it out later on. But I own Mario Sunshine on the Gamecube so if you also want me to test that I could
Tried it. It only sees it as a Pro Controller. And I also tried Mario Sunshine on the Gamecube. The analogue Triggers doesnt work properly as they should. If you press them just a little bit, it responds like I would press the triggers all the way through.
It works if you connect it with the dongle with the switch gamecube controller adapter.
@@ejg2290 Can confirm this now. And it also did this when I tried it 4 weeks ago. The problem was a firmware issue with the analogue inputs. But they fixed it
how's the heft and feel between these controller and a classic GC?? I bought the wizard and it feels s bit hollow and a bit cheap imo. helps as a Joycon with switch but I wish it was a bit heavier and felt a bit more sturdy as a controller. I want to get this one since my GC controllers are starting to fail.
You know I actually wanna make a video comparing the two controllers. Maybe sometime later this week
But if you wanna know how the Warrior controller alone feels, it feels great. After 3 1/2 weeks of usage I can’t complain
Nice stick
nice
Sup my brother. I just came back from testing for Science a few hours ago and it was a long time. I still got a couple assignments to do so in the mean time, I'm just going to relax. I have one more exam next week and it's the computer science exam. After that, I don't have to worry about testing. It's almost the end of the school year so that's where testing season is around.
My last test is today, & after today I’m done
@@nickalvizo that’s good to hear. i’m exhausted right now and i have a class but it’s one of those days where it’s not intense intense.
@@SimplyThatGuy12 I feel ya man, this past week has extremely exhausting for me too
@@nickalvizo yeah i agree. also, does the firefighter mod gta 4 start back up tomorrow or another day?
@SimplyThatGuy12 Well those other assignments that I had to finish & now due Friday but thankfully they’re super easy so tomorrow I’ll film a new video & probably have it out on Friday
The dongle does not have to be plugged in! That’s for firmware update or controller hookup. The GameCube when powered on powers the dongle
I realized that later on
Hi, I just recently purchase mt NYXI warrior controller and immediately test it out but after connecting to my gamecube it doesn't work it's just connected but movement or buttons functionality. I try updating firmware and watch multiple videos how to connect but still no luck. I already contacted NYXI customer support but its abysmal. Is there anyone who experience this? How did you fix it? I will really appreciate any help.
You may have received a defective one. Keep trying with their customer service if you can to see if you can get an exchange going, & if that doesn’t work I would dispute it with your bank
Man, I really wanted this controller but it looks cheap… is it the same weight as the Xbox controller?
I can promise you it’s not cheap, & I don’t own an Xbox controller so I can’t tell you if they’re the same weight
@@nickalvizo by cheap I meant the material how it feels. That’s why I asked about the XB controller.
@jose-ue6vt I know, & it’s not cheap material, it feels pretty good
I wanted to like the Wizard, but the input lag was just bad enough that I couldnt use it for smash
Really? I don’t notice input lag at all using this thing. How long have you been using it for
@@nickalvizo I used it for a few days before I returned it. I'm a sweaty try hard when it comes to smash 😅 I noticed that the official ultimate controller that Nintendo sold had a faster response time so I just stuck with that. I might try this one out though.
Oh hold up I didn’t read that right 💀
You’re talking about the wizard joycons, not the controller I was reviewing 😭
Anything about this controller that you don't like?
So far no
@@nickalvizo Nice! Went ahead and bought this controller thanks to your video.
That’s great. Matter of fact I think I’m the only one on RUclips who’s reviewed this controller so far since it’s so new
See if you can just change the battery out on your GameCube on the inside so you don’t have to keep entering the time info
If it means disassembling my Gamecube I am not that skilled yet 😭
@@nickalvizo lol trust me I believe in you the stuff you know know if further than what I knew before I started working on items so I’m sure you could do it no problem but for now just changing the time won’t do bad keep making these vids they are pretty cool
@@JDzWORLD Thanks man I appreciate it
Are L & R triggers analog or digital?
You can adjust them to be both with the back buttons that slide up & down
@@nickalvizo but are they working flawlessly on gamecube? And what about the rumble feature on GameCube?
@djrkzr They both work great on the Gamecube
@@nickalvizo now you tempting. Cause it looks like the ultimate wireless GC controller. Wavebird is nice but lack of rumble and that baby belly makes it odd, and my other controller via blueretro got rumble, original shape and size but digital triggers which makes some games unplayable
@djrkzr If that’s what you want then absolutely go for it
Carnal!
