Waiting for mine planning keeping it stock just for general bashing next to my 4s kraton and outcast. My wltoys a959 was junk had to upgrade a lot of stuff and decided to sell it and get the 144001
Nice! Can't wait to tinker with mine! Just got it yesterday and completely shattered the wing within a couple minutes. Hit a crack on the black top at full speed and slammed it on the roof. Surprised that it was so brittle, but I'll get a something else to replace it.

You'll love this thing it does 40 out of the box on 3s. Fitting good battery in is the main issue. just about to try another couple of options this afternoon
I found this part number SKU00042219 on wiltoys.com But I was wondering if there was aftermarket parts that were stronger or if these are stronger parts ;thanks for the video

traxxas mini servo I had spare (others are much cheaper!!!) Spur is 29T traxxas mod 1 one I had spare and that's about the same size as stock spur, 17T mod 1 pinion, although I'm trying to test more combos today but rain not helping!
Sean I just used stock mod one gears (no name brand just ones I had to hand but any cheap mod one gears will do as it's not putting out huge power, with a 5mm hole in them which was enough to go over the centre driveshaft, I think I quoted the number of teeth in the video. How do you keep these super fast RC’s on their wheels?!? My Ampro Engineering SuperFly 3.0 with brushless 3s lipo combo keeps doing kartwheels! Every time I run it I end up flipping it!
Hey Ritchie, awesome setup, will definitely be trying this on mine. One question i had though, how are your outdrives holding up? I have a brushless system in mine running 3s, and after just 3 packs through it, there are already deformation on the outdrive cups. I just don't think they can handle the torque very well. Thanks!
Nice vid Rich! That buggy is quick for sure. 👍🏻👍🏻 My guess is that 3s pack doesn't have the discharge rating to supply the 540 sized brushless system with the power it needs for this type of running. That's a 1/18 sized lipo powering a 1/10 brushless combo. Short run times aside, hopefully it won't cause any safety issues.
It's a 75C discharge rate BUT I do agree with you and am keeping a close eye on it, only two body clips to rip off if I see smoke! It did about 6 flat out passes before shutting down which looking at it wasn't bad. Tomorrows pinion may have it working harder! And I had the throttle D/R turned down! So more to come even with this combo!
Why would changing the gearing have such an impact of speed considering you keep the ratios intact? That must be due to differences in efficiency (higher resistance in the stock gears), right?

is there room to mount a 3670 or 4068 ? There's room to move the servo forward? or clip the servo's ears..ect ...120A on 4s. F it 150A esc is only $45 :-P
Hi i have no idea on the can sizes you mention (Sorry not sure on those sizes), It's a 3650 can size stated on the motor. I think moving the servo could be done but it might involve a lot more work. I was trying to squeeze all this in and keep everything within the stock body. you couldn't clip the servos ears I think without causing problems due to the way the servo mount is. Not sure what you mean on the 120A 150A etc, can you expand?
@@DriftomaniacsRC He has a 3665 at least on 120A esc on his 70mhp set up. The esc is just mounted to the center rail..(The truggie body allows him to do that)..but you can get 150A surpass, now for only $45-$50. A 120A esc is $35 I just use Industrail 550 motor mount $1 ( im a cheap bastard) lots of toys... on 40mm motors( clear it)..i just ream the center a little bit to allow the motor to pivot for pinon changes. It's over power it kind da...for a 1/14 lol but for a speed run demon to break records.... They make 4s packs for r/c planes/drones..ect 150A...that's just for heat management or 6s?? lol
ah the aim amongst a few of us has been to see how fast we can get a stock bodied, stock tired car to go. Although I am going to try it on foams very soon!
The only problem with this is the gears are only good for speed runs,on off throttle for bashing will get elecs too hot even though their the same diameter as stock gearing its way more aggressive pick up with the mod 1 unless you put a guard underneath the car and run a bigger spur size mod 1.

They're all good at the minute however a traxxas velineon system going in it today if I can get time!

4300kv although battery is just 850mah and it's too small! 2200 one would work better but squeezing it in is the issue

No you're not keeping the ratios the same, You're keeping the total diameter of the gears the same but not the ratio!
