Sometimes in life you have to "adult", and for those that don't know, I'm a normal person, with a normal job which results in normal priorities, once of them priorities is a house purchase! The M140i has made way for my 2017 Ford Fiesta ST3!
In my time of driving I've owned a lot of hot hatches, and there's something about a small, nimble, chuckable car that really tickles my pickle, hence why we opted for the humble Fiesta!
I hope you guys stick around because we've got a lot of plans for this car, MUCH more so than other cars we have owned so it's going to be one hell of a ride!

I love my Mk7 ST but had it for 5 years now and fancy a change. Had considered the youtubers favourite M140i so would like to hear more about how they compare. Thanks 👍
I had 2014 focus st sold it last week got a 2017 140i the 140i is whole different league
Have to agree, Fiesta ST is a cracking car personally think it has better handling than the m140i. Really good fun car, great choice. Only thing good about m140i is the engine and that's it, doesn't really have much else to offer.
Thanks James, yeah we share the same opinion, the B58 in the M140 is an absolute masterpiece, and they wouldn't be half the car if they didn't have that but the chassis leaves a lot to be desired
Maybe a RWD M140i but not an xdrive M140i. I take an highway exit with a big corner at 70mph without losing any grip, it's a great all rounder with xdrive. Rocket off the line but if you turn DSC off you can drift like a monster.
@@bradofwar5960 i used to take most motorway exits verging onto other mways a nearly a ton in a 1.2 corsa lmao 70 aint fast.
Sad to see the 140 go but hope you enjoy you’re new fiesta
I was sad to see it go to be fair mate. Priorities led this decision, but I'm not in the slightest regretting it
Good choice mate! Molten orange looks mint too, I bought one last year and never missed a beat proper underrated cars. Looking forward to seeing the build.
Thanks Tomos, appreciate it. Really underrated and unfortunately have a bad name in the "car community" but they're seriously good cars!
@@JXLPerformance Always told people they are great cars for what they are, they are proper underestimated until you drive one.
I agree with what you say apart from saying they're underrated. They're no. People know how good they are, the fiesta St didn't keep winning hot hatch of the year countless of times.
@@JustBlinkMe1 They definitely are underrated you can push them to 400bhp. Theres loads of things you can do to them. Theres a reason why they sell so well because they are an all round great little car
I think there's two sides to it, from a motoring journalist/reviewer point of view they're definitely not underrated. But the vast majority of the "car scene" have a negative view on these, stereotype of sorts which unfortunately means most of the people hating on them haven't even driven one
I’m in the same situation, I’m 19 and have a 330d so insurance is expensive. Maintenance also costs a fortune and I love a car that I can modify so maybe this is a good option
Had one of these for 2 years, great car! Getting mountune stage 1 finally on it this month
Get to TRS and get a proper map 👀
@@romanlonsdale3027 maybe when I go stage 3
@@lukewatts3284I'm currently stage 2 and love it. It's only a £150 upgrade fee to go to stage 3 after that. Handset gives you 5 maps too
After having a bmw 1 series I was looking to get a hot hatch, after considering the mini Cooper s, Peugeot gti, suzuki swift sport etc, I finallly decided on getting a fiesta mk st3 especially after watching your videos on your RUclips channel. Picking the car up next week next Thurs can't come quick enough!
Would just like to say that old BMW 3 series’ aren’t worth half as much as their equivalent mk1/2 escorts - if history repeats itself the ST is a better investment. Fast fords are good cars and I can’t believe people are saying the fiesta ST isn’t a hot hatch because it doesn’t have 300+bhp. Look at the old 205 GTIs etc, fiesta rs turbo.. they didn’t have 200 horsepower but were and still are great fun to drive. I still regard those cars as hot hatches, in fact they were where it all started, so saying the mk7 ST is warm at best is a silly statement.
I went in the opposite direction. Two completely different cars, both as fun as each other. Looking forward to seeing what mods you purchase 👌
That's it mate, M140i is a great car and I loved mine. Hope you're enjoying yours 👍
Hi Josh
New to the channel and have subscribed as I have just bought a molten orange fiesta st too, looking forward to watching your videos and get some ideas for mine. Awesome 😎
Good on ya mate . Needs must. Looking forward to seeing more about the st
Cheers Dean, appreciate it 👍 yeah plenty to come with this one, feels like I've gone back in time with some stuff 🤣
The fast ford scene is massive could be good for the channel
That's it mate 👍 having owned a few Focus STs in the past it's definitely a large scene than most so hopefully.
Get this out on a track day with us Josh 👍🏼
How does your new fiesta compare to your old GT86? Do you miss having it?
In some ways yeah, the GT86 had a lot of character, similar driving sensation though with it being driver focused. I did love the way the GT86 looked though;
tbh, i am thinking of doing the same thing and sellin gthe 140, but for a Mk8 ST. Then i will have some money for other projects indeed.
Once you get tinkering and making it your own josh will be magic 👍🏼
Cheers Jack, I must admit if I hadn't of had a ride in yours I probably wouldn't have bought one!
@@JXLPerformance get stuck shout put some spanner time in no problem
Completely agree I've an m135i and love it but if i had to get another car it would be a fiesta 👍🏻
What is better in your opinion BMW 1 118 I se or 118 sport or ford fiesta st line?
I heard of upgrading, but it is degrading 😂
Looks great!
Cheers Henners 👍
Hope you enjoy the fiesta it's not all about big BHP that you can't use
Exactly, the Fiesta is fun at all speeds, plus it's not all about straight line performance for me.
Looking forward to it..........
I know exactly how your thinking im in the same boat with a house purchase i had a fiesta before then a s3 8v i missed the fiesta that much i ended up getting another
I think a lot of people go through the same thing to be honest, having owned a Golf R in the past I can see why you'd want to go back, such fun cars 😌
@@JXLPerformance oh god yes! Even on b roads these cars standard are phenomenal!
Yes mate, love just going out for an aimless drive in the Fiesta
You pray 😂
Good luck with the car mate, unfortunatley sometimes you do have to prioritize. It's going to take a bit of getting used to lets face it you have come from a red hot hatch with 3.0l and 6 cylinders to a warm hatch at best but it should be fun. Had something similar before i got my M140 in a Vauxhall Astra SRI 200bhp a nippy car and fun to drive only problem was it revved high and wasn't much better on fuel than the BMW and that was a 1.6 with 4 cylinders not 3 so i hope Ford have got around that problem, oh and watch the understeer just can't avoid it in FWD when putting the power on. Good luck and all the best.
Thanks chief! Yeah it's taken some getting used to but all is good now. Best of both worlds in my eyes, fun, frugal (when it wants to me) and tuneable & on the flip side cheap enough to buy/run/insure etc whilst sorting a house out 👍 thanks mate.
The mk7 has 4 cylinders, and is not a “warm hatch at best”. I have owned both and the m140i was boring and serious and the fiesta has all of the practicality of the bmw whilst being more fun. Yes it doesn’t have a straight six but do you need one on UK roads? In my eyes horsepower does not equal enjoyability!
@@JackH-zh3wh Good for you 👍🏻
@@2cows534 drive one before you call it a warm hatch 😁 you’ll probably end up wanting one
@@JackH-zh3wh Good for you 👍🏻
john lewis car park :P
got to admit as much ofa bad stigma the fiesta st has you cannot deny how good they are, i heard a story of one pushing an rs6 up the M606 a few days ago which is quite an achievement
It is indeed!
Yeah they're a fantastic little car. Loving it so far
Get some security on it! Nice purchase though :)
Already got some! 😁
@@JXLPerformance what you got mate
How many miles does it have when you bought it?
The Fiesta has 28k miles on when I bought it, M140i had 22k
@@JXLPerformance thanks mate. What made you choose the mk 7 over the mk 8? I'm saving up for a mk 8 in the future. But first a house.. Probably also the reason why you went for a mk 7?
Dw bout the haters, prob sat in back of taxi typing away
Yer good choice as BMWs are shite any way.
U just needed a strut brace and an LSD to get maximum out of the car, I have no clue how you can get such a downgrade as a car...
LSD with 180brake....clapped guy you
Good. I wait for love from you 💝💖
Thanks Seamus!
Woow woow 😍💋 💝💖❤️
Thanks! 👍
Lol no matter what the spec, that is one hell of a downgrade
Depends what you're looking for in a car Darren, doesn't take a genius to work that out!
Downgrades of all downgrades LoL
Depends on your perspective Tony!
You had one of the lowest spec m140i I’ve seen.. can’t believe you didn’t have heated seats
