Thanks to some new animations + code, my "Security Grunts" can now breach doors with their shotguns as part of scripted sequences :)
Happy I got the shell ejections and muzzle flashes working, these were fiddly and required editing the entity code.

My favorite in half-life is when HECU knock the door down )))
Aren't these "Security Grunts" technically mercenaries?
Reminds me of when the Combine do house raids.
Is there a limitation to how fast animations can be?
No limit on length or speed, though making it too fast can simply make it hard to see :)
@@SerMattzio It still looks pretty good, but that guard had to be performing the most laid-back door breach ever. A lot of vanilla game animations are slightly faster. I hope that doesn’t sound too critical.
@@atomato5989 hahaha it’s fine. The plan is that he’s opening a busted door that’s jammed shut for the player in this scene rather than entering a hostile room. I guess a real “breach” would be faster + from the side.
Now I know the code for the shell ejection and muzzle flashes, simply making another animation would be quite easy :)
