    Wow, really fun and helpful to hear your troubleshooting commentary on these pours. I'm nowhere near this level, but still lots of little tidbits to take back. I've never really watched a latte art competition either, so also fascinating to hear about the scoring and gamesmanship stuff too.

    Honestly I think giving Haley complexity and creativity in a simple rosetta is crazy to me. I can pour rosetta all day long. Yeah it is a very nice pour but Kengo’s took more skill even if it lacked in presentation and symmetry. And it’s also creative because it’s not a simple rosetta. I still give Haley the win, but more points to Kengo for sure.

      @@EmileeBryant I don’t remember each one. I do remember line clarity and color distribution both going to Hailey. The video isn’t clear enough but you can see in the still shots a little bit but where you believe there’s line clarity in sugato’s there wasn’t, and where you said there wasn’t on Hailey’s left side there was clear traceable lines on that side.

    Have you ever covered how to correctly hold the pitcher? Watching these competitors made me realise I’m holding it completely wrong, and I’m swinging the pitcher like a pendulum rather than on a horizontal plane.

    • @EmileeBryant
      @EmileeBryant  2 месяца назад +1

      Sorry to just see this. Working on one now. Yeah you don’t want the entire pitcher swinging (though some tilt is involved in ripples) but rather the milk needs to swing! You’re right on the money!

    You narrate like in formula one during an overtake i sticked my face on the screen lol.
    It seems Haley took points because Kengo had more layers. You can't have so many layers and win time, clarity etc. Maybe the judges should account for the difficulty and complexity. Throwing one wiggly pour is easier and you know it Ems. Haley's cup looked sexier though.

    I was kinda expecting some crazy late art paintings on BWC with latte art tools , are they allowed to do that ? Or is it a rule to use just your pitcher ?

    • @EmileeBryant
      @EmileeBryant  10 месяцев назад

      No etching is allowed. 🫣
      Many can draw with a pen tool, but very few and manipulate milk with a pitcher.

      I would say because both do different art styles and tournament formats that they are both very valid at the worlds.
      Though I think society leans more to sca as the dominant one. However Coffee fast started it first ( I believe) so there’s that too.

    Hey, I have a question. Why after steaming the milk the foam separate very fast?

    • @EmileeBryant
      @EmileeBryant  10 месяцев назад

      The air trapped in the foam is less dense so it floats!

    what's the difference between this competition with the World Latte Art Championship? I see most of the competitor in this are from the US(?)

    • @EmileeBryant
      @EmileeBryant  9 месяцев назад +2

      It’s a long story.
      Cfest was around for over 23 years and was indeed the main world championship for a while but over the years the shift has leaned more sca. The sca however is a very different competition and in my opinion they are representative of different parts of latte art.
      Sca is etching and animal pours and cfest is traditional pouring skills with no drawing in a classic March madness style.
      Both are valid.
      The us things is more from funding as they used to be all over. Namely Osaka.
      But people come from all over for this competition. It’s just easier for Americans when it’s commonly hosted here.
