Some Additional Thoughts...
My sis would have been 33 years old today. We love and miss her so damn much and I just had to post this vlog in her memory. My sis loved vlogging and she was def doing it way before me. She's also the reason I joined RUclips to begin with in 2010. She LOVED the community on here and the power it had achieved over changing the hair care industry to reflect our demands as consumers. But that's a whole nother video right there. In the beginning she was all "sis, let's make channels!" I was like "why?!" LOL!! She always seemed to be two steps ahead of the game with everything and it's such a loss that we don't have her here to find out what's next! In this video y'all I cried so much and I didn't think I would. It was mostly because I felt like if she heard me saying these things she would be all "awwww sis thank you so much." Such a genuinely sweet person, always grateful and so modest. We would always celebrate her birthday every year so this year we just weren't ready to see it as just another day. Not yet. So we're also having a small party today with her friends and family which I'll vlog to bring you guys along. I'm just glad I was able to give my sister her flowers while she could smell them. Even in her peaceful passing she was SURROUNDED by family and you know I was right there holding her hand. We found solace in knowing that she was no longer suffering. Hold your loved ones close and keep their memories alive and thriving. I love you guys.

My favorite memory of her is how her faith in the Lord never wavered. While battling her illness I expressed to Meechy that God is so good and she calmly replied “yes He is”.

Coming out of my moms house I ran into Meechy on her way to Chicago’s Chicken & Waffle, she was with Kaye. She was so warm and welcoming. I walked away like I had just met Beyonce.

Daneille Brown , REALLY, why do we have to be such a hateful group of people. No other race, but us, have this kind of animosity towards each other. White people, Hispanic and evey other race in between, can hate each other's guts, but seldom do they express their hate and disdain for one another to the other races. But then again, maybe you are one of the hateful others. If Beyonce is that special to this young lady, her comparing Meechy to her is the highest compliment she can give her, even though she may not be your cup of tea. I never watched any of your sister's videos and I subscribed to your channel not too long ago. This video was "recommended for you" so I clicked on it. My daughter passed Nov. 2017 at just 14 from complications of chemo and I'm trying my hardest to find things to keep me happy and preoccupied. I watch RUclips videos all the time but never really comment....I decided to be more social I guess and interact....but what you said at the beginning about depression and grief is what I'm trying to avoid by focusing on growing my channel...which needs A LOT of help so I'll be busy. I'm sorry for your loss and thank-you for sharing the memories of your sister Meechy.

I remember when she made her diagnosis public. My Mom was diagnosed August 26th, 2014. She died six months to the day they said she would...two days after we were blessed to have celebrated her sixty-fifth birthday. Her Brother passed Six months after she did... also Brain cancer. And, two months later my Nephew..yup! Brain cancer! I know how you feel Vaughan. I'm not ready to see this... I'll watch it another day... RIP Meechy♡Happy Birthday♡

I discovered the Monroe sisters through my twin who was forced to give up her perms bc of a thyroid condition. As she navigated the natural hair product waters and figuring out how to style her hair she said, I discovered these two sisters who are fabulous and remind me of us. She would end up buying you and Meechie’s favs all the time. I started following you both that day . She made me sit with her and watch all of your previous videos. we loved watching your videos together thereafter. I just found this video and the pain is overwhelming me right now. This is hitting me hard. My sister loved the holidays. You mentioned her in today's Vlogmas. My sister has an aneurysm and I talked to her a hour before she went to the hospital. She thought it was a headache. My heart is so heavy now. It took me getting therapy to overcome this loss. My life totally changed forever. My best friend and sister pass. I know she would have not want me to be unhappy. Thank you Vaughn for this.

I just posted a photo of the three of us at you guy's fashion show for the StyleQueue launch. And I remember I asked Meechy if she would take a pic for me, because I really wanted a pic with the two of you. I had already gotten a pic with you Vaughn, and she was running around making sure everything was still going well and she finally had a bit of time to take a pic. Right before the pic was taken, she said "OK I'm ready for my close up" and did a little dance and posed and the pic was taken. I love you guys. Thank you so much for sharing this with us Vaughn. I will forever be grateful for you and your family.
My younger sister is the first person who told me about Meechy back in the day when you guys first started out. I thought being natural was all about maxi dresses and Mother Earth and berries. My sister told me that was not the case and directed me to Meechys videos. Once I found her, I loved her videos and followed her on the gram with her cute dog. She showed me that you could be natural and stylish at the same time. As someone who was transitioning at the age of 21 and had straight hair for all of my life, that was a message I needed to see and hear. I needed to see someone like me, who was beautiful, confident, friendly, kind, a pioneer and bold. That’s how I remember Meechy, she was like a big sister (she was 4 years older than me) in my head showing me how to look cute, how to feel confident in myself and rock my natural hair with pride. I was never able to rock curl wand curls like she did.lol. I miss her, I miss seeing her pop up on my feed but what inspires me is that her legacy lives on. My sister the oldest Debra passed away March 13th 2013. She was in stage 4 kidney failure, but she lost her life to bacterial meningitis. She had an Angela Davis size natural afro. The deepest dimples you've ever seen. She always protected me I'm the youngest. I totally agree with you about the grief process, my grief comes out in small doses. I go to call her at times, then realize she doesn't answer her phone. Or to tell her about a book I have read. Or a movie I have watched. Even something new I've cooked she loved food. You and your sister will always have the shared experiences that will be how you keep her alive . My deepest condolences to you and your family. I try to have new experiences that I know she would have wanted to try. My mom is really having a very difficult time. It's like she has forgotten about me and my other sister. That is the difficult part. I am in therapy. My mom refuses. The video was very helpful and enjoyable for me. Thank you for allowing us to see it. Bless you.
My sister stopped being in my life when I had cancer, I've had it a total of 6x now. I'm dealing with treatment and recovery alone. I admire all family who stand by their siblings during this difficult time. Thank you, I wish I had my family but I don't and for whatever reason their happier away from me. Please pray for them♥️

I actually went to elementary school and high school with Meechy. We were even on the basketball team in elementary school, with Mr. Kelsey as the coach lol. I'm 2 years younger than her, so when I started at MP for high school, she was already there. It was comforting to know some of the older, "cooler" students lol. She was always cool, stylish, and awesome 😎 #RIP

It was Meechy who inspired me to go thrifting for the first time. I remember posting my finds on Instagram and I tagged Meechy. Not only did she like my post, she also commented. I was so excited! That was in 2012. I just looked back and re-read her comment. Thank You for posting this Vaughn! Meechy will always be remembered.
So Vaughn first of all I just want to say God bless you and your family. I never got a chance to see your sis on RUclips prior to her passing away. In fact I ran into her channel when I was browsing RUclips for ways to deal with losing my mom to cancer. After seeing both of your videos and vlogs I was inspired, you ladies touched a lot of lives. I noticed that while your sister battled cancer she was still such a beautiful soul, reminded me of my Mom. I totally know what you mean about depression, man my life has never been hit so hard until my really healthy mom had a stroke one day and then died 3 months later from stage 4 adenocarcinoma cancer, she never got the chance to get chemo or anything, it was too late. Everyday I think about the what ifs, damn I miss her smile, laugh and hugs. It's not fair that cancer takes the most beautiful people who are so young and full of life, I felt like a piece of me died with my mom. She passed Dec 7, 2016. Right before Christmas, she had plans to go shopping, she had put up her tree and she was finally gonna teach me how to make chitterlings but all of our plans were cancelled. Daily I wonder and pray and hope and dream and wish to see my momma again one day. I ask God is she happier, can she see me and why did she have to go so soon because we had more plans we never got to do..sorry to.pour my heart out Vaughn, I know you have enough pain from your own loss but the truth is as I watched you video I couldn't control my tears from falling. I needed this outlet. I pray for you guys and that you find peace in your heart...I know I'm trying my best to do that as well❤

My oldest sister Shawna died on her birthday last year of lupus I had anxiety and depression u are right it is the hardest thing I ever had to go thru she was sick as well up until her passing the grief is tremendous we have angels watching over us
Vaughn I know all to well how you feel. I lost my sister to Lupus 18 years ago this October. Not to mention I gave birth to my daughter 3 weeks after her death. Remembering moments like this get you through...and I know for me my daughter has some many of her traits and mannerisms.

To look at someone you can never tell if they are sick or not, she looked so healthy and strong, wasn't over weight, you can just never tell. Life is precious, it was nice to see but also kind of sad as well, it makes you think about a lot of stuff.
I lost my mom last April, no one has ever put into words exactly how it feels(for me.) I’m always searching for people that get it, so I’m so grateful that you’ve shared such personal footage and dialogue with us. Being from Chicago, I always followed you all and attended your events and I will always remember Meechy as being such a kind person with one of the most genuine lights surrounding her. I’m also friends with your cousin Ashley, so I was able to see(through pictures and stories that she shared) that my assumptions were always right. She seemed very genuine and friendly on screen, not to mention she was super gorgeous with bomb hair. You described my journey to a tee. I lost 2 sisters to Sickle Cell (2011 and 2015). I was devastated and didn’t think I would survive. I didn’t know her personally, but I felt as though I did. She was always able to lift my spirits, no matter what kind of day that I was having. I could watch her, and everything would just change. I could sense her positive spirit, and her joy.! It then became a part of me. Love you Meechy! Rest well baby girl!

My favorite memory of Meechy, happened a couple years back. She released a tutorial using a curling wand on stretched/ blow-dried hair. I watched the video about a million times making sure I got the technique right and used similar products. I did the style for an event I attended when I was in undergrad, and posted a pic of it on Instagram. She commented on the pic (so did your sister Alex) and I was so happy! She said " You rocked it! You're beautiful and your dress is gorgeous".I'll never forget that moment, and how special she made me feel. It's like you never expect your fav to see you but she did and it was GREAT!

Been watching Vaughn for about 2 years and found myself watching her old videos this week. I love her attention to details and we are close in age so her videos are relatable. I remember your sisters story and the strength she showed. In 2015 my youngest sister passed at the age of 24 from an asthma attack. She didn't RUclips but because she had a 3 year old son that she filmed constantly. I too am thankful for technology as it was able to preserve the moments and memories I had previously taken for granted. I pray The Most High continues to be with you and your family. (My sister use to give the ✌🏽in pictures and videos. Looking back it almost makes me feel like she is telling me she is okay and at peace...)

This huge for me and so many other people. You and your sister inspired me to go natural. I literally cut my hair off at work with my work scissors at my desk. When you all opened your online boutique I purchased a pair of pants that I will have forever they're the cutest, and I haven't been able to find anything close to that design since. Thank you for all of the great video's you are a true original, and I will never forget your spirit. What a blessing to have been able to live vicariously through the both of you. I'm forever changed.
I remember the first time I saw Meechy on RUclips, I thought wow this girl is gorgeous with a beautiful personality. I truly miss her on RUclips.
I remember one day in downtown Chicago I saw Meechy walking right in front of me! I was star struck, but she was talking with someone and I didn't want to interrupt. I will always regret not speaking up, but I remember being so happy that I followed her work and that you all are form Chicago just like me! One of my key inspirations when I first went natural.

The memory that I always always think about is the year you guys threw a Birthday party for her that her supporters could attend. It was 2015 in Chicago. She had beautiful, short curly hair and a flow-y red patterned dress. It was so chill and laid back. I had an amazing time with all of you, laughing, chatting, and eating. Lol I just remember everyone being so friendly and personable. I told Meechy how much I admired her for everything she’d accomplished. Even had some laughs with you (you were looking for the Henny lmao). We took photos and just had a great time. I’ll remember it forever.
