Great video. Would you advise to remove some of the brake fluid on very worn pads and then top it off after new pads are installed? Any plans to show switching to coilovers for these cars? Or other suspension videos?
Yes I’ll probably get around to doing a brake flush video and that’s the fastest way to remove / replace the fluid before the flush. I loved coilovers on my drift cars that I had in the past but on these cars I like factory sport suspension or lowering springs for ride quality but someone might eventually want them installed so I’ll at least get around to a lowering springs video
@@NaptownTuner my A4 8.5 was base model suspension. I was hoping to get it track ready with KW coilover. Do you think the Audi base suspension would still be decent with new springs? I used to drive Firebirds so everything in my A4 seems premium haha. Thanks for help btw
@@RealJayEmZee personally I haven’t had to replace any struts on 2009+ ( that aren’t magnetic ride ) you can drain your wallet replacing everything but the suspension arms/ bushings are a nice thing to do at least the front lower rear control arms I have a video on already. But just springs or springs and new struts wouldn’t hurt if planning to keep the car for years.
Pump the brakes before you start the vehicle not before you drive .. before starting the engine make sure to pump the brakes until the peddle is nice and firm
Why not open the hydraulic brake bleeder valve on each caliper / wheel and let the old, not good brake fluid - escape into a disposal cup, and let fresh brake fluid from the master cylinder replace that?
Can I just slide my rotors out from the caliper Bridge instead of removing it? I live in Chicago, shits rusted and it's cold right now. I don't wanna spend time or energy with a torch and breaker car on Daytona 3 ton jacks. Ive done this on my gf jetta 17' 1.4t.
Wonderfull Information Thanks 🙏 will this work on the 2012 Audi A4? Quattro, please let me no, I am following your channel and looking forward to all your videos.
Your name says naptown but are you in Indianapolis? I have a 2010 Audi A4 awd but I’m having trouble starting my car.. I’ve been told it was a pressure pump but I personally believe it could be something as simple as spark plugs/ignition coil packs. Is it possible for a diagnosis in person?
Hi mate, first of all, thank you very much for your content, it is much appreciated. I’m trying to buy new front discs for my Audi A5 2.0 TFSI 2009. But when I check online everywhere seems there’s 2 sizes 314 and 320mm diameter for the front discs. Is there any way I can check which ones I should be using without actually dismantle them? Does it matter? Best regards
I honestly don’t pay too much attention and order them by the year I believe 320mm is what I use but I’ll do a brake upgrade video soon with s4/s5 rotors on an a4
@@ramonfernandezlopez5373 check the PR codes on the build sticker in the spare wheel well, should have a code '1LT' which means you got 314mm on front.
Will a bad turbo cause a start no crank situation In a 2.0t A5 ? Or will any part of a bad turbo cause a a crank. No start? I’m getting fired and fire I know for sure.
I was hoping for torque specs but I guess everything thing in your shop is just Viking tight! Praise Oden brother!
Naptown, pretty sure they have a light coat of oil. Doesn’t hurt to wash them down with brake cleaner
I wish I had a lift, I dont think id ever leave the garage.
My wife told me to put a lift in our garage
you are the man! do you have to do different steps for the back wheels because of the parking brake? Appreciate all the vids!
thanks for all this knowledge 💡
GOOD advice. GOOD attitude. Thanks...
Good usable info given with reall attitude
Pop! Simple, easy... why have I never done that!!!???
what brake pads do you suggest Ate or akebono

Thanks for the tips, I appreciate it.
This dude really knows his stuff! I like him, even though he voted for the wrong party!
he voted the same as the majority of people

What about the adhesive on the outboard pad?
Is this video only showing how to change the the front breaks? Or is this the same for all 4?
My heart broke when I saw him hang the brake caliper by the brake line that’s dangerous 5:29
Great video. Very helpful. Like button SMASHED. Thank you!!!

Isn't it really bad if fluid leaks past the seals on the master cylinder?...or is it acceptable in this situation..
Thumbs up

You seem so irritated like you're being forced to make this video 😅. Thanks for posting BTW.
I feel my car shimmy but no steering wheel shake. I notice this when braking. Wrapped rotors? Can this happen to all four rotors?
Usually just the front rotors, the steering wheel doesn’t have to shake that’s only when it’s really bad

I accidentally stripped the T30 screw from my rear rotor (right side) any way to get it off? Also where can I get a new one?
Use a drill to drill off the head. Once the rotor is off, you can grab the remaining piece with vice grip pliers to remove it from the hub.
Ahhhhhhh, į hate that

You’re gonna have to come up with more info for anyone to be able to help. Probably timing but I don’t waste my time diagnosing over the keyboard
Do the rotors have to be changed every time you replace the pads?
No not if it’s not warped glazed grooved or excessively worn.
Two sets of pads to a set of discs (normally)
This seems simple enough, not sure why this should cost $800 to do.
If u can own a Audi, u can afford the 800 dollars
