My opponent attacked my queen with a bishop Then I thought of gm Simon William's In the top 5 greatest moves of mikal tal Saying "Most mortals will think oh no! my queen is in danger but he wasn't mortal. So I hang my queen and went to win the game😎 By time out
I love that GM Simon made it a point to say that Judit is one of the best chess players period. Regardless of gender. And that she's the best woman chess player in history. And that he and all of us benefit from her play.
I felt really smart for figuring the first one out! Learning chess is so fun, I got positively giddy when I realized a queen sacrifice would work! Good vid, thanks mate.
The two knights are a favorite when they team up side-by-side to deliver a form of smothered mate. As GM Williams would so accurately call it, "astonishing." Two knight mates side-by-side are always difficult to spot by us mere chess mortals. Thank you for sharing, Mr. Williams. There is an amazing Q sac with the two knight side-by-side mate in Irving Chernev's "A Fireside Book of Chess." A great read with some real "Things that make you go hmm" moments about chess..
All these attacks check out with Stockfish 8 except the last one. There seems to be a clear refutation of this one, although the move seems terribly difficult to find (3. Nb5). Nonetheless, that 4 out of 5 of these attacks are irrefutable is no surprise at all: Judit was a bona fide phenom.
From my limited chess research, Judit is the most aggressive player ever. Only the best defensive players have won against her. Unfortunately for her, some of the greatest defensive players ever live along with her.
The last one was great I’m just an intermediate player and I was stunned by all those I’m curious if there was a way to wiggle out of her attacks maybe somehow she left an opening while gaining up on the king she lost focus somewhere else I’m very curious
In the first game Judit's brillancy was when she played Re8 she made a trap for Pavlina by giving her a piece and then she smashed her with the queen sac In general playing against Judit is really suicidal 😈😈
Thanks for the video. It’s great! However you do talk about her in the past tense, which makes one worry whether she is still alive?!! But also for me , she is one the best voices of chess of all time, with her amazing ability to talk about chess. Please add that to the list of ongoing accolades ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't really like it when people ask me to "like" their channel, and even less when they tell me to "make sure" to do it. Much better would be: "if you like this channel, then please hit the like-button". But even that reminder should not be necessary.
The first game (against Chiringirova) was played in 1988. Judit was 12 years old and Pavlina was 33. The pictures you used are from roughly 3 decades later. Come on.

This is one of the best series on entire RUclips!!!

"That's irrelevant." Perfect comment by a brilliant commentator.
The third game just mind blown
I felt really smart for figuring the first one out! Learning chess is so fun, I got positively giddy when I realized a queen sacrifice would work! Good vid, thanks mate.
the first one is actually fairly common even among regular chess players
Thank you for putting out a video about a female chess player, love to see some representation.
Polgar’s game vs Shirov should be her immortal.
total. the amazing thing is that a lot of her games have similar series of punches when delivering Checkmate.A truly unique player

Its always a pleasure watching Simon Williams comments.
Please do Capablanca and Alekhine best moves when you can
The first one was my favorite! Awesome queen sacrifice I never would of thought of that
My problem is that I can find all the moves but dont know when to look for it.😢❤
7:21 isn't qh8 or qh7 is mate why to take bishop with knight
Right I didn't see that
g4 to prepare Harry h2-h4xg5 is an awesome attacking idea!
She is the best female out there today... Great player
Judith Polgar
Waiting for capablancas best moves!
The assault on Chernin was a mugging!
Thanks Simon. You're the one I look forward to on this channel.
The plan and move against Berkes Frenc is my favourite. Slow motion death.
Judit is literally the KING SLAYER of chess world
From my limited chess research, Judit is the most aggressive player ever. Only the best defensive players have won against her. Unfortunately for her, some of the greatest defensive players ever live along with her.
Nice games and nice explations..! Thanks
Reminds me of Paul Morphy, Fischer's favourite player, and described by him as being probably the most accurate player of all time.
great to see the continuation of this series resume ❤️
Just came here for the 'Booooom'💥💥
Its really entertaining how he explains all stuff.😄
We want more vdos simon😊👍
@ 7:21 no need to take that bishop. Queen to h7 is checkmate straight away
Not true. That bishop gave white king a check :)
I just figured out what the move was from the first game on this list the moment I saw a thumbnail of this video. :)
Excelent choice of pics in Shirov match :D
The fifth one was my favourite
Stunning.
Brilliant.
Thank you for sharing.
Came here from the book called Atomic Habits, there was an analogy drawn related to Judit's family and I was curious
5:16 knight to f 3 is check but instead of moving your king one right into mate why not take the knight with your queen?
@Yousuf Hassan your right thx
Good bless you man, you always makes me laugh from all my heart
The playstyle of judit is always aim for the king
Yeayyy... GM simon is back.... I do love his every single word👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 🥰🥰🥰
They should make a series about the Polgars
i love the way she plays
Valóban nagyon jó válogatás! 👍
Thanks for the "Name Your Pawns" lesson!
Simon: Judit is the best female player of all time
Hou Yifan: Am I a joke to you?
Who?
I think Yifan is considered 2nd in the all-time list.
Shes the current best
She waits for the perfect time to attack and then attacks all over the board, very intelligent style.
The last one was great I’m just an intermediate player and I was stunned by all those I’m curious if there was a way to wiggle out of her attacks maybe somehow she left an opening while gaining up on the king she lost focus somewhere else I’m very curious
Judit Polgar is brilliant..... Love these games
g4 to facilitate h4 is a brilliantly obvious idea
In the first game Judit's brillancy was when she played Re8 she made a trap for Pavlina by giving her a piece and then she smashed her with the queen sac
In general playing against Judit is really suicidal 😈😈
That g4 was a gigabrain play wow
This g4!! move was amazing.
8:50 Black resigned, OK.
61... Ng4!! in 2007 Grischuk vs Polgar.
I came here from the "Atomic Habits" book
At 7:21 why no queen h7 or h8 checkmate?
Because the bishop/queen gives a check
7:21 why not Qh8?
Yeah
She was in check
@@jaihoohah Ohhh ok thanks
At 7:21 why did the knight took the bishop, wouldn't queen to H7 checkmate? New player here
Because her king was in check
@@kristofr.691 Thank you!
the second was awesome, nice job judit
7:21 im confused. isn't that already checkmate on next move?
Always keep an eye out for checks :)
Liked video as usual.. but please.. state what colour (Polgar in this case).. to play… thanks

I thought that was weird too! She's alive and well, and a regular chess commentator. I gather she is retired from competitive play however.
She's alive and kicking (butts)
She is alive, but she is retired from professional chess, maybe that’s why the past tence.

Why the pawn to f4 at 7:24? Isn't Qh8 mate there?
white king is in check after bishop g5..then knight take bishop and then comes queen take knight is also a check
@@inagakiirichiro8882 Haha yeah I don't know how I missed the check there. Thanks!
7:21 isn't Queen to H8 checkmate?
No, because that’s an illegal move since the queen gives a check

Why wasn't the rook captured in the 4th example?
7:20 isn't Qh7 checkmate??
Bishop takes g5 was a check, mate.
For number 4, why couldn't the queen go to h7 mate after the bishop captures the pawn
It was check
