I know you keep spoiling in the title so I just clicked without looking at the title or pic, and still you spoiled in the first 30s intro - why not this context etc at the end!!!!!! I will have to unsubscribe if there is no improvement.
@@mzippardy1345 I've had the same feeling about Antonio for a long time. I've tried to find videos of the games on other channels without any commentary - just the moves - but that isn't always possible. And many of the other chess channels I've found do pretty much the same thing, so it's a common problem. On the other hand, I enjoy Tony's analysis of the games, and that makes up for the possibility he will spoil the resutl.
And never read the comments before watching the video, because these guys just can't help spoiling the result.
You guys miss the point of chess and just want cheap fun. You don t watch these videos coz u are axcited about who will win… the game itself is beautiful and the moves what matter. It is indeee better if u guys unsub and go coz nobody neees these negative comments. Even more coz it s such a dumb take.
Guys calm down, Agad doesn't always spoil the results, he (sometimes) spoils if the match is old or in the tournaments where he have already discussed the results in his previous videos...
I played against her when i was a kid. I offered a draw on move 16 because i tought the position was equal. I lost in about 5 moves after that 😅
She was willing to take ten moves to beat you, but she decided on five as a punishment for your insolence.

Very complicated Game I was thinking same thing the way these Grandmasters can figure out moves and Checkmates like Judit did in this one definitely separates their playing ability and the playing ability of everyday amateur players like myself spotting that Rook Move at the end was pretty Awesome way to Checkmate

I like the new background, Agadmator - the dark colour helps to focus on the center (always concentrate on the center :)) and the photos of the player and the frame of the our beloved commentator are clearly visible .

#suggestion You said at one point early on that if you hadn't told us this was a Judit Polgar game, we might think it was Tal. My suggestion is that every so often you show us a game where one or both opponents' identities are concealed until the end, and let us guess who the player(s) might be based on their style and level of skill.

Mini Judit saga PLEASE
Her attack with those knights seemed impossible. And it actually was, because best play could've completely neutralized her attack. But that's the thing about being an attacking player. You put it all out there and leave it to your opponent to find his way out. And if he can't hold under extreme pressure, you win almost every time.
"Best play" is essentially a red herring at this point though as no human is consistently capable of "best play." Magnus Carlsen understands this very well, he doesn't have to play like an engine, he just has to play in a way that only an engine could defend against
Attacking players like Judit, and Tal are, were pretty incredible players. The ones who are able to defend and consistently beat them, don't stick to one style of chess. They're flexible enough to get their way out of all types of positions. Not to make anything less of what they accomplished, Tal was brilliant in his play, Judit the same.
The way she fearlessly pushed though king side pawns was beautiful. How many of us just keep our king cowering behind those pawns? 😅
I tend to push them aggressively forward. Sometimes, it allows me to win beautifully, but more often than not, I pay a hefty price for being overly aggressive. :)

Not a big fan of women’s chess. But Judit is a beast. She always comes out with a dagger and a sword. Most players will come out with a sword and shield. She fights hard and plays to the death. She knew that stepping into a male dominated sport she would have to be ruthless. And she didn’t disappoint. An aggressive tactical player that rarely fails to excite. A true joy to watch. She is indeed the Queen of chess. When she dismantled Magnus in the park, I couldn’t help but chuckle. Yeah, it was a casual game. But it was still fun to watch Judit’s attacking prowess against one of if not the greatest player to ever play the game. Judit is absolutely amazing!

At 1:53 into video I wish you would have explained why White can NOT that the E5 pawn. It looks poisonous, but it is not clear to a 1500 rated chess player.

i remember when the polgar sister appeared and the circumstances got published how their father was educating them, it basically was a giant smear campagne against how someone could terrorize his children with a strict regime of chess education and nothin else. it was an affront for all the german elitists who still were convinced that talent is a natural genetic thing that only happens to chosen ones for reaching the top while everything else isnt worth a penny so to say...
Still…there’s an anecdote from the Polgar household about the older sisters struggling to solve a problem and having to go wake up the youngest sister Judit to explain it. The training can take you so far, but still when you meet an immovable object that is when you need the natural flair and genius of Judit…
They did their regular lessons and played a lot of ping pong as I recall. The parents made sure the girls had proper physical fitness, as they viewed that as integral to their chess career. All 3 girls have not turned out to be anti-social, so my great kudos to the Polgars for their great parenting work.
@@agin1519At first, Judit wasn't considered the most gifted of her sisters. She was more very ambitious and hard working, she wanted to be as successful as them.
@@lessormore001 I’ve just skimmed through a few things written about them. The anecdote of a very young sleeping Judit being called on (pre-computer) to solve a tricky puzzle is on her Wikipedia page. However, as you say other articles cast doubt on this characterisation of the talent and it seems that all 3 were remarkable young women. And that to be able to focus on one thing so single mindedly you need a hard working, loving mother!
@@agin1519 Of course. Even the best chess player in the world would not win any tournament if he relied only on his talent. They just treat chess as their job, they practice it several hours a day. The more you work, the more you will achieve.
Judith was..a beast.
She still is... beating Magnus and Alireza in a friendly open air match recently shows that she still has it.

@@niagra898 maybe. Maybe not. She does no longer compete in tournaments but when she shows up and plays, her incredibly agressive style can crush even Super-GMs.
@@peterkoch3777 You have to remember it wasn't a tournament. Carlsen and Firouzja do not play social games very seriously. She still lost the vast majority of tournament games against them.

Guessed Rg8 would work but probably Rg7 was the better move. Confident that it was either of the two, I hit play.
Oh well, queen being able to cross to the 8th rank is the reason for the solution. I often miss those, when lots of major pieces are bunched up together, in such exchanges the king is powerful defensively coz he can always swath whatever is one square away. Good game

What if you couldn't promote pawns?
Realistically speaking it's conceivable that infantry that walks all the way across the field would either become a wall, ( a fence against reinforcements) shorten the height of the board or go backwards still as a pawn, but reverse direction. The noblest of the two would be the former, perhaps, if someone did not want to complicate things too much. Even a combination of the two ideas. A pawn reaching 8th rank can stay there or do a 180 and still act as a pawn, but it needs to be marked as such. If it stays at 8, it is a wall but can be captured by the opponents pieces. Another idea, a pawn at 8 becomes a 1 square-span bishop.

At 8:18 why can’t Black take the knight with the rook instead of Kh8?
Engine actually likes that move most and can prolong the game quite a bit. But white is still straight up winning

For final pause the video moment how about rook g8? Am I crazy or does sacrifice whole rook work here?
I'm not that smart, so I plugged it into Stockfish, and it says that rook g8 is still winning, but only because rook g6 is still available with the second rook. If you try to also sacrifice the second rook on g8, you're lost.

A grandmaster can make alot more accurate moves for each position they see, compared to average, and even experts and fide masters. They are amazing on the chess board.

I really like Judit Polgar. Her games are always interesting, with her style "attack, attack, attack". When I read about her on wiki, she became one of my favorites' chess players. She was the only woman to have been a serious candidate for the World Chess Championship, not Women Chess Championship. And that was back in the day when Political Correctness wasn't a thing.
She was at a very high level, but I still don't think she could win a world championship. She had only qualified for one Candidates Tournament in her entire career and she was the last one there. And typically, even if she won one game against any world champion, she would lose another dozen or so.
@@lessormore001 Doesn't matter. The fact that she went head to head with highest rated GMs, and won games, says a lot about her. Nowadays, when WGM faces a GM, she can, at most, drew a game. Judit was winning games. I know she wasn't, even at her peak, as good as top rated GMs. But show me a better woman chess player who is/was playing and winning against GMs... That's my only point.
@@alpha007org Women who are WGMs have little chance with GMs. But the ones that are GM have bigger ones. I think Hou Yifan had similar successes to Judit Polgar. She was very strong. She played some tournaments with a game strength above 2700 and even 2800 elo. In fact, every female GM has a greater or lesser chance against male GMs. Ju Wenjun, who is now world champion, sometimes wins games even with 2700+ GMs.
@@lessormore001 True, but her list of opponents was stuffed with legendary grand masters like Kasparov, Karpov, Kramnik, Anand, Topalov, young Carlsen, etc. So it was super difficult to go over these legendary players.
@@nlght84 It's obvious, but with all these chess players, she only won one game and lost a dozen. She never won the classic with Kasparov. There were other chess players with whom she never won, such as Kramnik. She was an incredibly strong chess player, because of course even one win against such opponents is a big achievement, but it was still not world champion material. Its result in clashes with world champions is one or no won game and a dozen or so losses.
Destroying a player like Voris really shows how good Judit is
