Seen through the eyes of someone who knew ONLY what was presented in the trial, no prior knowledge whatsoever, the murders were not adequately proven. The time line didn’t add up. The fabrications of the prosecution cast doubt. It seemed a lynching for crimes outside the scope of the trial at hand. I would have not been able to cast a guilty verdict since as the judge said, the benefit of the doubt must go to the accused.

You are so right. In the beginning I did not want it to be true that he killed them. I kept thinking through the trial the state was not proving his guilt. But after both sides presented their arguments, the evidence proved his guilt.

@@NASAastronautStep-Mom the kennel video really did it for me. Paul spoke from the grave. R.I.P to Paul and Maggie. They did not deserve what happened to them. I can only imagine the confusion to them both after they realized that Alex had shot Paul. The first shot wasn’t fatal to Paul. After he was shot then looked up and saw it was his dad, he stepped a little further into the doorway of the feed room probably like WTH are you doing. Maggie heard shots, saw that Paul was down on the ground and started running to him and realized omg Alex is the one that shot Paul so she starts running away from Alex but it was to late 😞💔

I would like to give a shout-out to the unsung heroes who are responsible for bringing this murderer to light: the chicken and two dogs. If the chicken (who had so valiantly given up her own life) had not been in the right place in the right time, Bubba would not have caught her and kicked up the fuss that caused Alex to get caught on the video. And, the other dog who belonged to a friend whose tail had a problem - were it not for him the video would not have been taken in the first place. The Humane Society should receive a lot of donations from grateful town folk, or erect a statue in their honor for helping to catch the worst crook in history.

Many people know Paul was there. He had been out on a boat that weekend. There was a hit in Paul. I studied the time frame based on cellular activity. AM did not commit the murders. I believe 2 gunmen come in from the field near the entrance to the kennels. They waited until the golf cart went back up to the house just before AM dove off to his mother house. That’s when they stepped in killing Paul. The second gunman killed Maggie. I believe they had not realized she was there. It started them and the 2 nd gunman unloaded in her. If they go back to listen to the video there was nothing to indicate that AM was out of control. He was actually nice to the dog. I just don’t see him turning into a monster the next seconds and grabbing 2 guns and doing this. The boat trials we about to be heard. They were trying to frame someone else as the driver. Plus Paul had others who wanted to kill him over Mallory’s death. Those people know that property. They have hunted it most likely. They could have come up in 4 wheelers, waited and when the sun was going down they moved in. They could have road off through the entrance after AM left throwing Maggie’s phone. Also running over her leg. They never talked about evidence on the golf cart. Or anything beyond that snap chat video. The time frame gets condensed even more the closer to 9 pm. I just think everyone wanted him to take the fall. And he did. The experts witness said the shotgun would be covered in blood after shooting Paul. They never looked into the possibility of 2 gunmen. And sure AM is a criminal, he will be in prison for ever. But I do not believe he killed his son or Maggie. But 2 gunmen and they got away with it. I think that group of friends knows more. They are afraid to talk. But maybe one will slip up one day.

I actually don’t think Paul was acting privileged when it came to him asking the operator to stop asking questions, I think a lot of people do that (I’ve done it myself) because they don’t realize they already dispatched officers or EMTs, that they’re trained to keep the caller talking, and the caller gets frustrated.

Neither Maggie nor Paul seemed concerned or upset.
I took the call as Paul being rude, off putting and very arrogant..Maggie sounded as though she was nonchalantly talking to a friend on the phone.
Nothing of that phone call sounded urgent, with someone who's like family, was laying on the ground, unresponsive and bleeding from the head and ear, nothing.

Maggie had the job of competing with her sister for who had more wealth while thinking nothing of having a housekeeper she seemed to care nothing about since she only visited Gloria a few times in the weeks she lay in a hospital dying after 20 years of slaving over a bunch of wealthy slobs who couldn't even bother putting their used dishes in the sink or dirty clothes into a hamper! Buster, while in school to study LAW, plagiarized a paper and got kicked out. And finally, Paul who was allowed to drink and party with friends since a very young age, drives a car drunk and crashes gets away with it, then drives a boat drunk, crashes, and kills a friend all without any consequences. " Do the right thing " wasn't a thought to any of them! "Do it but don't get caught", must have been their family saying!

It sounds like an embedded confession to me. As if he thought about it for a long time and it wasn't spur of the moment. To me it sounded like a confession. He also almost always said he wouldn't hurt his son or his wife. Just one time he said he didn't kill them. He downplays the murders too often. When the Attorneys were talking about Paul's wounds he cried his big tears, when they were talking about Maggie he was almost stonefaced.

She is just the sharpest dresser. She’s so pretty. Always enjoy her interviews. I am sure AM thinks of Paul & Maggie all the time. I’m on the other side. Where very few people are. I believe it was 2 gunmen that night. God has a way of bringing out the truth. And if he didn’t kill his son & wife one day it will be made known. I’m older and not well so it’s unlikely I will ever see that happen. But I hope the truth comes out one day. So many 40 year old crimes are being solved. In this one there just was no evidence. Except a video that put him there at 8:44. After AM went back to the house I believe is when it happened. I’m even though possibly Paul shot his mother then himself. But there is no evidence. It more likely the gunmen come in from the woods. I wish there had been evidence found. That would be the only way I would believe it. That timeline is just too tight for AM to be the shooter. In my opinion.

There were so much people coming and coming one after the other and it must've been confusing. I guess some of them knew the victims and were close to them too. The Paramedic for example knew AM for a while.

I hope he can find himself. Honestly, even as a teen he had no sense of who he was and only did things his father did. Alex and his mom even bought alcohol for both their son's when they were under age. It's tragic. All of this is tragic.

I have been off and on looking at this case, since first hearing about this “Murdaugh” family. Personally, and I assume has already been stated in other comments, this family is just down right pathetic AF. Listening to the 911 calls when trying to supposedly get help for their housekeeper, sounds more like them getting frustrated with a little child asking you over and over again for a toy, even then some of us have more patience with that child. These people act like it was disrupting Cocktail hour at the country club! Like how dare this lowly human, fall and get injured, now I have to stop what I’m doing to be a F*cking human and help them, argh!!! The fact that these people where even considered “Respected” is just ridiculously silly and laughable. I respect my cats litter box, I respect the gum under my shoe and the bag of trash busting up, right as I am carrying through the kitchen, which was just washed and shining, more than these people ever showed to anyone in their pathetic lives, include the way they treated the death of Ms. Mallory Beach and her family and the housekeepers family, like they were just a nothing in their "respectable world of BS. SO personally, again sorry that Paul and mom were murdered, but this “Murdaugh” dynasty needs to be gone, gone from South Carolina and gone from ever being considered Respectable, only by those who are just like them. Good Riddances to Alex, Buster and whomever gets tangled in this Carolina Reaper hot mess of disrespect through and through.

The more I think about it, I’m becoming convinced that he moved most of that money off-shore to start a new life. I feel like I knew he would get caught stealing eventually and the plan was to amass so much wealth that he could easily give up his livelihood of practicing law and still live a wealthy life far away. He may have initially planed to take the whole family but knowing that Maggie might have wanted a divorce (which would’ve drastically reduced his assets), Paul’s case was not going away and he had just been caught by the firm - he decided to eliminate the two that were the biggest financial risk to this new life he was starting with the stolen money. I’d be curious to know if Buster has an idea of where the money really is that was stolen and whether or not he’d have to give up any of it or the US assets to repay the law firm.

Personally I became invested at the time of the Steven Smith murder, while waiting for evidence on that an entire shitstorm of very serious crimes and criminal charges were being filed it was hard to believe this was for real happening. I have no doubt that Alex and Maggie we’re guilty of very bad parenting. They enabled Paul’s alcoholism from a very young age, and I truly believe that buster was romantically involved with Steven smith and that Paul was involved with his murder and Alex and Maggie were well aware. Regardless of all of this, prior to the murder trial Alex had filed an alibi motion which was heard prior to Paul’s phone being unlocked.....he went to great lengths to prove in court to judge Newman in that motion that he was not at the kennels at any time that evening. This motion was not allowed as evidence in the murder trial. There is so much more that is actually relevant to the murders that could have been presented at trial that was not
