I've been getting seasonal depression already, mostly because autumn hasn't been quite as colourful this year, but we seem to have collectively moved on to Christmas season. I wanted to commemorate these days of autumn, the cozy, slow moments in life. I hope you enjoy this video. :)
Apple and Pear Crumble recipe:
filling -
2 medium apples
2 pears (peeled)
4 tbsp maple syrup
1 +1/2 tsp cinnamon
optional - 1 tbsp whisky
2 tbsp water
topping -
1 cup oats
2 tbsp plain white flour
1 tsp of cinnamon
75g cold butter
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
Walnuts
Dark Chocolate
Peel and remove the core from 2 pears and 2 apples, chop them into cubes and sautee on a stove with 2 tbsp of water until soft. Add maple syrup, cinnamon and whisky, sautee for another 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl combine oats and plain flour, add cinnamon, salt and sugar. Chop cold butter into small cubes and add to the dry ingredients. Rub butter with dry ingredients between your palms until crumbly.
Optional - chop and handful of walnuts and mix in to your crumble topping.
Spoon your apple and pear mix into individual ramekins or into one big deep tray. Place crumble mix on top and add a few pieces of dark chocolate.
Bake for 15 minutes at 180C/ 355F

Hi friends,
My thoughts in this video are a bit chaotic (you can probably tell) as I've been dealing with a bit of a burnout this week and struggled to write something comprehensive. I wanted to convey the idea that we can always make our life beautiful, even if at the moment we don't feel like it is, without postponing to the next season or "until better times". I hope next time I'll be able to put my thoughts out there more cohesively, but I still wanted to post this video even though I'm not 100% happy with it. 🌸
I wasn't analyzing it that deeply, but for me you expressed perfectly what I'd been feeling. I've had a busy Oktober and was just getting to actually enjoy the Fall when everyone is already getting into Christmas mode. It makes me want to pull the hand break really hard. 😅
Daria, I too have been feeling burned out due to family members making too many demands on my time and sapping my energy. I feel I'm unable to enjoy autumn as I'd like to and it is passing by too quickly {as time generally does the older we get}. I'm hoping to take a walk tomorrow and spend some time in my garden. such a gorgeous forest! :) i didnt know maple isnt so common in England. Here in south of Sweden they are everywhere and i love them so much, not only because of th leaves, the trunks are so beautiful too

It is hard not to want rush forward to the next thing, like Christmas, New Year’s, etc. I love Autumn though and am in no rush to go any further. We love Thanksgiving and I will savor the leaves, pumpkins and corn stalks until December. With our first frost this morning, everything sparkled. I didn’t. Like putting in my heavy coat, but enjoyed the beauty anyway. We have fresh apples and pears. A cobbler sounds lovely fur this weekend. Thank you for your beautiful video and words. 💕🍁

Another year slowly approaches its end and as you said, it's really tempting to postpone everything until a better time comes. But live still goes on, and every single day is precious and filled with meaning. It's filled with meaning that comes from within ourselves so it's important to stay present instead of going on auto-pilot.

Recently I have been trying to take November day by day, some days I might still want to watch a scary movie and crunch leaves under my feet, other days I want to bake turkey and cranberry sauce and give thanks, but I don’t stop myself from grabbing a few christmas gifts for my family members or listening to festive music. November feels like a transitional month in many ways so it works for me to move with my current moods and local weather!

This was such a beautiful video. I very much agree with you, everyone ends Autumn too soon. It is for 3 MONTHS just like any other season. I love Christmas but I do not like celebrating it so early.

And making videos helps a lot in that respect, doesn't it? I at least feel that the seasons are a bit less ephemeral when you have an aesthetic memory to hold on to even after they have passed. 🥰
I agree, the life is what you make it. It doesn't do to "wait" for better times, one needs to learn to be content with smaller things

To me the feeling of emptiness is lessened when I do something together with others. Not for each other, though that feels good too. But really agreeing with each other on a "project" (it can be as simple as just playing a game or building something) and then both bringing in ideas and views. It results in something, that would not have been this good, if just me did this project alone. It would have been different then. Same if the other person did this project by themselves.
I don't know why, but to me it just feels great to see something, that shows how synergy can add to more than just the sum of it's parts. The process itself is also good in my experience. It feels like walking the same path for a little while. I don't know how to descibe it better.
I didn't find your thoughts all that chaotic, to be honest. But I tend to have my head very firmly in the future, so I probably have experienced that problem a few times. I find it difficult and easy at the same time, to be in the present. It's easy to remind myself to stay in the present. But difficult too, because I inevitably think 'ok, and what now?'. And then I look for another project to use my time wisely. (With the past, I rarely bother with, outside of "what lesson can I learn from this for the future?".)
When I do a project alone, I just tend to set it aside when my motivation runs low, or when I get distracted by other things. Even other projects, I also do by myself. I have sitting next to each other a set for embroidery and some drawing stuff. And on the table a book for learning a language and a vocabulary book.
Maybe, I'm usually chaotic, so your thoughts sound pretty normal to me? I don't know. Then again, the whole year had been rather weird for me. It somehow felt like ages at some points and now I wonder where the time went, since it's already november.

I also think that autumn should last longer. It is so cozy with cooler weather causing me to wear a soft sweater that keeps me comfortable. When September has summer-like weather, it shortens fall. Hot tea, cider and coffee with a nice cinnamon coffee cake. The mood makes me melancholy and homesick for days gone by. Maybe it is good that Fall doesn't last longer.
Hey Daria, how do you manage to upload weekly? I take so much time with my filming and editing. Whenever I try to be more productive with this whole YT thing, I feel like I'm on the brink of burning out. 😊🍁❤️
Aah honestly, I don’t know. To tell you the truth, I haven’t given myself a break for a while and I’m experiencing burnout at this moment (physically). So.. I’m not a good example! 🙈 I just love making videos, that keeps me going, but keeping up with the schedule is difficult! 😬 Thank you for your support! 🥰

@@WabiSabiStories I think you should do what makes you most comfortable. RUclips is a long playing game and to be honest… so much is dependent on luck rather than a schedule! Now this is where i should go and follow my own advice.. 🙈 But your videos are lovely and it’s really best to do what will keep you going long term!

Relax daria. just let things happen. We are beautiful but not perfect. Life is tricky sometimes we feel something wrong but if you look at it there isnt any. Just go easy coz autumn is nothing but a smile

I keep feeling like autumn is over now that it's November, as usually the leaves are gone now and the barrenness of Thanksgiving approaches, but this year it's like autumn is barely halfway over, all the trees are still turning and full of leaves and color, some still green, and the air is warm still with only a chill at night. I've always dreamed of an eternal autumn, or at least one that lingers on and on, and I suppose this year I have my wish and should appreciate it more!

I truly love all four seasons through out each year. But it is a frustrating tie between late spring the last two weeks of May and the first two weeks of June that has that golden dawn hue of open meadows and the warm gentle kiss of the morning sun light vs the season of Autumn that i crave just as much wishing it would last many months longer due to all the colors and the change of atmosphere in the environment that brings about the forest aroma of wood and mulch like flavors in the air. As Autumn also brings about chilly weather that provokes some to burn savory wood and tinder in their wood stoves or fire places that you can get a lucky whiff and taste of it in the air. I have given up in trying to capture and hold each moment attempting to trick self into feeling like it lasted longer than for what it is. My hope is i will one day experience in this life those moments to feel like it lasted longer by allowing it to capture me and swaddle me rather than me trying to gasp it by force. It is like trying to tightly grip water or sand in my hands as it squishes and pours out , where the moment actually requires me to gently cup and passively hold water and sand in my hands that allows the elements to linger longer with much lesser loss.
I look forward every week for your videos. They are so peaceful.
I always hate that on November 1st everyone is already thinking of Christmas- but fall is still here!! And November is such a beautiful month all on its own. I ignore winter until it starts~ and I will enjoy autumn for as long as I can without feeling a bit bad about it.

Are you, me? This video sums up how I feel exactly; everyone always seems to be rushing on to the next thing, especially the seasons, and I struggle with that. Each season seems to be brought forward earlier each year, and the result is that Autumn feels shorter and shorter. I think the reason is that autumn came very late this year. November looks like the beginning of October here in Germany. It just started to feel like autumn as we had a very warm September and a mild October. And still there is so little time left until Christmas but I am still in full autumn mood 😅 and I am definetely not ready for Christmas now.

I have a beautiful big old Maple tree, just up the country road from me, and I walk under her every day, with my rescue greyhound Madge, and tell her how beautiful she is, and thank her for being there, as her leaves are all golden at the moment, and it is like walking under an enchanted forest. Just like the Maples you were amongst in your video - they are sooo beautiful. I love this time of year, as you do, and just treasure every day as it comes, as a gift. xxx
