I often begin eating lots of soups, stews, and chili at this time of year. I love the way that it smells and it just feels so cozy and warming. I also love to do a lot of baking.
i guess im asking randomly but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
I love the slow living energy of this video. It is such a wonderful reminder to take a step back, pause, and truly enjoy each season as they come around. :)
I love the way you eat oatmeal, & I'd love to share with you what I usually do for my oatmeal. I always keep a small jar of a nut butter I make myself in the fridge to top my oatmeal with for flavour. My most favourite combination butter is - cashew + date + coconut flakes + cinnamon that I blend up into a course or smooth butter & then top my oatmeal with this & whatever fresh fruit I have in the house. I hope you try this out & tell me what you think. Lots of calming love all the way from India ❤️
This video literally just inspired me to make a delicious wholesome soup for my evening meal tonight so thank you. I aspire always to eat the rainbow, but at times I struggle with motivating myself to prepare the meals because I don't have anyone to cook for except myself. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and so many others!
Yes, definitely the time of year when your thoughts turn towards lentils, pulses a d hearty home cooked root vegetables. I love a good stew as well, add herby dumplings or a vegetable suet crust, this lasts for a couple of days so minimal effort as well, result! I love listening to you on a Sunday, my none guilty pleasure so thankyou. Bright Blessings to you xXx
Moong dal and all this thing... I always feel that I watching routine of an Indian because you have incorporated so much of our culture in your lifestyle.
Tanya Anuja I’ve been to india many times. My partner is from Chennai. I love india and would move there in a minute if my partner would but he loves London. Sending love. Where are you from?
As an Irish girl who has spent the last 12 years living in Australia and Texas, I miss having four distinct seasons. Your videos are inspiring and always give me a sense of connection to my roots. Thank you.
Always a happy Sunday when you post, Niamh :) So cozy and wholesome! I just adore your energy and your films. I love changing my eating habits with the earth's seasons as well, as it feels so natural to do so.
I naturally start ctaving warming foods like porridge, soups and stews as the weather gets colder. I love my porridge with blueberries, banan, milled flaxseeds and cinnamon. Your meals look delicious. I much prefer having my main meal in the middle of the day and do so when I can but it is not practical when I am working 💗
Its like a fairytale. I do not know what hardships you go through in your life, but we get to see only the good part of life. Your videos always makes me feel calm, happy and at the same time reminds me of the saying "grass is always greener on the other side of fence" which ofcourse is not true.
Ah thanks... our life is simple which definitely makes for an easier life I find but grass is never green like you said... we just have to appreciate what we have...
I feel so relaxed now, early Monday afternoon ... I should keep up with you, and check in on Sundays, to start the week on the right note! I love porridge too, at this time of year, and included in my weekly prep, a huge serving to eat over the week, as it keeps well in the fridge, and add whatever fruit I feel like every day. Thank you for sharing all these fab ideas 🌿
I love your dress! Yes, we change up what we eat with the seasons too. More soups and veggies will be on the way. Thank you for all of the ideas. Life is so beautiful at fairyland cottage ♥️
I started eating a (mostly; I do still eat fish, maybe twice a month) plant based diet almost 2 years ago, and I’ve seen great improvement in my digestive system! 🥰
All summer I have avoided spending too much time in the kitchen, but now with longer evenings already I have more space inspiration for cooking and baking. Autumn is such a great time to try all recipes that I find during previous months and I can agree with one of ladies before, that now soups are the best option, specially after long walk in fields.
And from the bottom of the world, in New Zealand, we are in the midst of Spring blossom, daffodils and lambs! My husband and myself are eating the last of the broccoli, cabbage and last season's frozen corn and beans. Looking forward to our first salad greens, peas and asparagus of the season!
I have a garden, four young children, cook three times a day and am a creative and I don't manage it very well. One thing or another is always falling by the wayside until I pick it up again. I think the idea of keeping things very minimal helps and also the fact that she eats very simply. One can put food in the crock pot in the morning for the hearty lunch and that pretty much cooks itself.
Over here in the Northeastern area of the USA it is still summer with fall approaching. When Autumn does arrive, I enjoy a variety of soups and stews, Chili, butternut squash bisque (my favorite). I love the smell of cinnamon and enjoy mulled cider. Porridge is a year round breakfast for me. I eat a variety of hot cereals...oatmeal, oat bran etc. I also like my hot cereal with fresh, organic butter, raisins, walnuts and some organic vanilla protein powder. I enjoy leaving the windows cracked to enjoy the fall air, especially at night.
I love love love the way you eat! As I get older I really do prefer the larger meal mid day! My hubby not so much though😞. I love your choices too, simple and flavorful. The frozen greens is a great idea! That way greens don’t have to go to waste in the fridge.
such a wholesome+nourishing What I Eat in a Day! its so refreshing to see foods that actually fill the body and soul and make you feel good(in contrast to most accounts that focus more on the calories or the aesthetic appeal of food)
I just discovered you! The calm beauty of your videos is inspiring and I appreciate your honesty around some of the things that you face, because we all face hardship or challenges. But you are putting yourself out there, sharing what is positive, and that is all anyone can do. Focusing on what you want is key, not what makes it harder. Being easy on yourself as well is only going to serve you and your goals anyway. None of us is perfect, but we certainly can strive to make ourselves happy and be in the balance of holding the vision we want to accomplish and working to achieve it.
Just found your channel. Very calming and informative. I love eating soups at this time of the year to stay warm and cozy. Thank you for the beautiful videos you make!
I only wish it were getting cooler here in Southern Indiana. Nearly 90 degrees every day this past week. Still noshing on fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and watermelon. However, when Autumn finally arrives, I love soups, stews, chili, and roasts - with all the lovely aromas that ensue!!:) 😋
We are heading into spring here in Australia, but I have been enjoying lots of porridge and stewed apples throughout winter, it's one of my family's favourites, especially with cinnamon and sultanas (golden raisins).
I cook like this too. Frozen greens tossed into simmering food is the easiest thing ever. I make preserves because 🇨🇦 sometimes it drops to minus 26 Celsius here, so nothing is fresh unless its imported or green house grown. It’s so easy to open a bottle of mustard pickles and mix it with some vegan mayo and put it on some potato salad with some homegrown sauerkraut. I love it. Have a wonderful day 😋
There’s so much positive energy in your videos I just love watching your videos as soon as I wake up or when I’m about to go to bed! It’s a cozy feeling I always get ♥️ nice and relaxing ☺️
I moved from Florida to Turkey over a year ago and have discovered the beauty of four distinct seasons. Most people here eat seasonally and make a lot of preserves. It's still warm here but soon our diets will probably start to change :)
Watching way over in Oklahoma, USA. I’ve always had a few earth friendly products in my life but your videos make it feel so uncomplicated and feature such simple swaps that I’ve been slowly replacing to more sustainable items as things wear out. Thank you for making calming and peaceful content, especially during this time. It really relaxes my highly sensitive/empath brain.
Ah that's such kind words to say... I find life can be so complicated, so I make it easy and simple to counteract the busy world.. Sending you hugs all the way to Oklahoma!
My deep exhale always comes to my awareness while watching your videos...feels good to slow down and be present. Thank you for these beautiful videos, Niamh 💚💛🧡
I also live in Florida (the northeast part), so I get where you're coming from. By the end of October it has usually cooled off a little bit, and I then try to incorporate more soups into my diet. I feel like our winter is maybe a bit like fall is for folks in other places. Anyway, cooler weather can't get here fast enough for me. 🎃
Moong dal is my favourite too! I often make moong dal khichdi with rice, moong dal and some spices. I squeeze in some lemon before eating and it tastes awesome!
@@FairylandCottage yes, exactly! I have been following your channel for a while now, but commented for the very first time. I got down to composting my kitchen waste after watching your video on it. Can't thank you enough! :)
@Fairyland Cottage I only recently discovered your channel and am enjoying your beautiful calming videos of how you live your productive life. Your food prep interests me greatly as like you I follow a WFPB diet, moving from first becoming vegetarian 12 years ago to vegan 3 years ago, and now plant based 18 months ago. Always start my day with a bowl of porridge and all the goodies on top. Since the arrival of Covid 19 have been making all my sourdough bread as well. I am set to binge watch the rest of your videos. Greetings from South Australia.
Ah hello new friend. Lovely that found the channel! Yes my Dad got me into WFPB after he read Dr Greger’s book. I do my best to make my nutrition my health care. It’s worked for decades! Happy viewing x
Yes... activity in our WFPB kitchen are changing with the seasons. This high school sewing teacher from 🇨🇦 will be returning to the classroom this week so I find that I am batch cooking a lot and filling the freezer for those busy weekdays ahead when I don’t have time to cook. We are canning and freezing a lot right now as the garden is giving plenty. I also find I am craving earthy dishes with mushrooms since it is Autumn now. 🌿🍁🍎
Yes, lots of squash and beets. I make a black bean chowder with cumin and texmex spices and a slightly sweet corn bread. I love a spiced apple sauce tea bread with tea after chilly afternoon walks or garden clean up 😊
I love root vegetables, winter squash, kale etc... And autumn is my favorite season, so I enjoy focusing on those things. I eat more soup, stew and hot cereal- oatmeal, grits etc... I also love roasted vegetables, so I like to throw whatever is in the garden into a baking dish, along with some kale, butter or olives oil, fresh herbs and toss, baking until tender. Simple, but oh so yummy!
You make the simplest things look extraordinarily wonderful and magical. I am not a fan of oats but my mouth is watering for some after watching you make it.
Really liking your new stepping stones make it even more of a fairyland garden. I don’t know if you’d have space in your kitchen if it’s anything like my little kitchen but you can get an Instant Pot Mini. It’s a pressure cooker so can help preserve all the goodness, but cook quickly and if you swap lids you can set it up as a slow cooker as it has dual function (in fact it’s multifunctional). I use it to batch make quinoa, rice, etc. You can even sauté in there before pressure cooking your meal and as like it all in one pot it would be ideal. I liked your oats with the stewed apple, gonna have to try that. I actually eat Irish oats, Flahavans to be precise. I like the fact it comes in paper packaging and is organic.
I missed this last year! Your oatmeal and stewed apples gave me a great idea how to use some fruit spreads I've gotten. A variation from the honey I usually use to sweeten my porridge. Thanks! I'm not vegetarian, but I find myself varying the veg in my soups to provide different tastes. Bell peppers (any color or all of them) provide a kick whether as a soup/stew ingredient or as an edible bowl for pilafs, gratins, or something more substantial that one bakes in an oven.
As the season changes to cooler weather for breakfast I enjoy warm oats (made with water), topped with a drizzle of oat milk, honey, sprinkle of cinnamon and sliced ripe banana. Another favourite fruit to add is chopped dates.
I really loved your What I eat in a day 💛 I eat quite similar and feel so good! I have a few chronic illnesses and hormonal struggles but seasonal vegan eating has helped me a lot (and glutenfree and low sugar, but that’s because of digestive issues). Especially beets are very beneficial for me and I put them into lots of meals. A fresh salad with graded carrots, yellow beet, some lemon juice, some olive oil, salt and pepper is heavenly 💛
I love a carrot and beetroot salad... we just had one yesterday.. haha We did the Gut Course by the Happy Pear in January to help our digestion and we loved it!
All that food looks so good! I'm hungry now after watching this LOL. You def don't seem like a lazy cook - cooking three meals in the one day (without using a microwave or any other "cheat" method of cooking) is a great effort! And the veges straight from your beautiful garden, this is perfection! Love your videos so much
My mom always taught me that the human body craves the nutrients we need and that’s when the fruits and vegetables with those nutrients are ripe such as fall and winter we crave oranges and grapefruit etc vitamin C and D with getting less sunshine and greens for iron and that’s when citrus fruit and all our green veggies are ready to harvest. Amazing still to me.
Love this time now for cooking...I must get out the slow cooker and get motivated. I really need to loose some weight and this is motivating me to get back into healthy eating, batch cooking, preparing food in advance etc! LOVE porridge so much or over night oats...or even baked oats which are handy snacks or breakfast on the go!
Thank you for the consistent informative videos. I love your Jasmine! Here in the southern hemisphere, we are going into Spring and the Jasmine is just starting to flower. We had an unusually very cold winter and are eager for sunny days. Sending ❤️
So lovely! There were several tips in here I'll be using. I didn't think of freezing my greens and just popping them into a one-pot meal. I love the pesto from carrot tops idea too! Thank you.
I think I like fall more because of all the foods avaible seasonable now. Apples, peaches, salad greens, all sorts of things ready and waiting to be preserved into jams, jellies, frozen, canned for winter time nom noms to get us through the crummy winter.
i just love your videos! they really calm and ground me. i’ve always wanted to live in a small cottage on a farm ever since i was a little kid and this really makes me excited for my simple future
Nice to see you Niamh!!! I hope 'the mysterious project' is going well! Much love, and also to your terrible cameraman!--Joking of course Terry, x BTW turmeric is not at all bioavailable, but that magically changes if you take it with black pepper. 1/4 tsp black pepper for every tsp turmeric. I reversed my precancerous blood that way a few years ago.
Hello from Arizona! 🌵 Although we are a warmer climate all year round I do find that the moment it feels even the slightest bit chilly, I get busy making soups and slow cooked meals. More root vegetables for sure. Hot teas and oatmeal too ☺️ Anyway I am new to your channel and find your videos so calming and inspiring. Thank you 🙏 ☺️
Good morning Fairyland! Warmer breakfast in the fall is on the menu. I love oatmeal with apples and cinnamon. These days I am enjoying green tea lattes instead of coffee. I mix in collagen and coconut oil with plant milk or goat milk...whichever is on hand. Send some positivity to us over here in the US..very chaotic and stressful where I'm living. Take care.
By next month we’ll be able to bake again, and we’re going to take stock of our pantry. I’ll make sure I have plenty of ingredients to make soups. My kids LOVE soups and I do the same thing you do, I keep a giant five pound bag of kale and spinach in the freezer and add it to everything!
As it starts to cool a bit I go full swing into soups and stews and chili’s w salads as long as the lettuce is fresh still then I switch to more root veg and green beans, and the like, and bread... I bake more as well. So yes I do def change up my diet as we go into fall and winter. Spring and summer is full of fresh veg, salads galore, and fruit! :-)
Hello i am fairly new to your video,s. its is just what i need right now.... we are living in a unpridictable world. When i watch your vlog,s i find them very soothing , nurturing and educational. i believe most people can benefit from them i really do. I passed your links on to family and friends and they all love them as i do. When i have a free day. i light candles, put on some very soothing music and stay in my PJs all day. And just chill. And i put my phone away out of sight out of mind. And no tv, especially no news. This really helps me to switch off... Then i can tune in to my inner world that so often gets lost in the hurly burly of life... Thank for sharing your video,s and bless you untill next time bye x
Making all your meals is easy if you don’t want to subject your body to unhealthy foods. This pandemic has opened my eyes to that and the fact that I just had a baby and I don’t want to subject her to processed foods so I cook all her meals and mine and I also have a 14 year old boy that eats everything up, it’s overwhelming and it gives me anxiety, but knowing that we are all eating healthier makes me sleep at night. We’re also vegetarians so it’s easier to make meals now.
I had to google the weather in Ireland because I was shocked to see you wearing a sweater. I didn’t realize it cooled off so quickly there! Sending love from Florida!
Love Sundays with your new videos helps get me threw the week, l like alot of soups an stews this time of year but atm we are into spring l like salads an veggies. Enjoy your week thanks for the new video another great one. Take care😉👍♥️
"KEEPING THINGS SIMPLE AND NUTRITIOUS." It doesn't get any simpler and more sensible than that. You know, we are the only species on the planet that needs to be told how and what to eat. It can be overwhelming and confusing to navigate what the latest research findings have shown or fad diet is advertising. It's not that complicated. Eat real food, in moderation, mostly plants and listen to your body as it will tell you exactly what it needs. Thanks, Niamh for sharing your sensible approach to eating an as always, life. P.S. Well done filming and editing yourself! I do the music selection, filming and editing for all my videos and I find I get better with each video and I get such a satisfying sense of accomplishment knowing I created that from nothing. So rewarding! Happy Sunday! xo Enza
so true Enza, the latest research is always changing for sure! Thanks re the filming... took so much longer than usual but delighted I did it :-) Happy Sunday to you too :-)
I enjoyed this video. My diet change in fall is not to big. I like to make soups and stews in fall and winter. I enjoy teas more to.I will remember to grate my veggies for faster cooking that is a great idea. I also learned a bit about lintels that I did not know.I only had once but they are tasty.

Ah good luck back to school... I use to love sewing class in school!
happy canning and freezing... so much abundance xxx
My diet does change with what fruits and veggies are in season. Love root vegetables, squashes, etc., in the autumn.
Yes, lots of squash and beets. I make a black bean chowder with cumin and texmex spices and a slightly sweet corn bread. I love a spiced apple sauce tea bread with tea after chilly afternoon walks or garden clean up 😊
Autumn is our favorite time of the year. Yes lots of soups and oat meal.💚
Ours too! X
Simple, but oh so yummy!
ohh i love roasted veg at this time too! so warming and yummy :-)
That’s a great sweater you’re wearing..♥️
Ah thanks... my friends mom made it... isn't it just gorgeous!
It's a cardigan.....Not a sweater!
@@ElsieJoy39 Who cares? It was a nice compliment.
You make the simplest things look extraordinarily wonderful and magical. I am not a fan of oats but my mouth is watering for some after watching you make it.
your video relaxes me. it makes me feel at home in my country.
It's 120 degrees in Palm Springs today, so I am living vicariously through your changing season. We'll catch up in a few months.
Wow!!! And I felt warm yesterday at 95F in Madrid, Spain..
My gosh that’s hot! Blowing you over some cool air
Thank you ❤️ I always enjoy watching your videos again! Blessings from California 😘
As the season changes to cooler weather for breakfast I enjoy warm oats (made with water), topped with a drizzle of oat milk, honey, sprinkle of cinnamon and sliced ripe banana. Another favourite fruit to add is chopped dates.
Loved the warm and cosy video...so relaxing to grow your own veggies and enjoy them in your meals..
it really is special... even if its herbs... having something you grow is magical.
Love ur diet through the day especially the soup and pesto etc
Thanks for the ideas. I love eating healthy.
What a cozy and delicious video, food and ambience. Thank you
I really loved your What I eat in a day 💛 I eat quite similar and feel so good!
I love a carrot and beetroot salad... we just had one yesterday.. haha
We did the Gut Course by the Happy Pear in January to help our digestion and we loved it!
Eating healthy meals like these is what we really need. 😊
Fairyland Cottage what a coincidence! 😊
Your video is the closest I can get to the feel of rain, autumn or winters.. 💗 from ☀️ Dubai!
Ah no rain in Dubai for sure! glad you liked the video. x
This was great.... thanks for the calm, just what I needed this morning.
Ah thanks lovely... :-) Have a calm day :-)
Oh I learned so much! I am not a great cook so I appreciate all the simplicity and versatile ways of getting all the good stuff in :D
Really enjoyed this! Thank you for the recipes too! How creative you are!
Yes, the diet changes! A move to warming veggies and robust spices. Very much the same as in this video. Thanks for sharing!
robust spices! I like it :-)
Absolutely beautiful! I love your knit jacket 💕
Ah thanks ... my friend's mom is a knitter and made for me... so special
You are lucky 😊💕
I am jealous for this weather. In Greece we are not going to have real autumn until november at least.Enjoy it.♥
Thank you for the consistent informative videos.
This was a treat to watch! I too try to make my meals as much as possible using the vegetables!
You should write a book with all of your recipes and wonderful ideas!
Lisa Nicholson ah thanks Lisa!
I’m in the process of writing an ebook and audio book! Hoping it will be out in October!
Nice to see you Niamh!!! I hope 'the mysterious project' is going well! Much love, and also to your terrible cameraman!--Joking of course Terry, x
BTW turmeric is not at all bioavailable, but that magically changes if you take it with black pepper.
Hot teas and oatmeal too ☺️
Anyway I am new to your channel and find your videos so calming and inspiring.
Take care.
green tea latte sounds lovely... I'll send over positive energy... so sorry you are experiencing such chaos over there... take care of yourself. x
Love the calmness and beautiful images
Ah thanks x
🌼 love everything you share. Always pure & refreshing
When i watch your vlog,s i find them very soothing , nurturing and educational. i believe most people can benefit
from them i really do. I passed your links on to family and friends and they all love them as i do.
When i have a free day. i light candles, put on some very soothing music and stay in my PJs all day. And just chill.
And i put my phone away out of sight out of mind. And no tv, especially no news. This really helps me to
switch off...
I love autumn!
I love how you eat with the seasons - something I want to apply much more to my cooking too 🌱
I had to google the weather in Ireland because I was shocked to see you wearing a sweater. I didn’t realize it cooled off so quickly there! Sending love from Florida!
Yeah overnight the weather drops.
Sending you love to Florida
Love Sundays with your new videos helps get me threw the week, l like alot of soups an stews this time of year but atm we are into spring l like salads an veggies. Enjoy your week thanks for the new video another great one. Take care😉👍♥️
Ah nice! spring is there for you... salads and veggies are on the cards!
Thanks re the filming... took so much longer than usual but delighted I did it :-)
Happy Sunday to you too :-)
@@FairylandCottage 🥰
I enjoyed this video. My diet change in fall is not to big. I like to make soups and stews in fall and winter. I enjoy teas more to.I will remember to grate my veggies for faster cooking that is a great idea. I also learned a bit about lintels that I did not know.I only had once but they are tasty.
Your meals look so simple, yet so delicious looking.
Ah yes simple and delicious and nutritious is always my aim!
Your videos are so calming! I love them!
Thank you for another lovely calming video
Your videos have helped me get through my toughest days
