We just did Paris-Vienna in the NightJet and I definitely recommend it! My spouse and I had the private room with the shower, and it was about 400 euros, but definitely worth it (and cheaper than 2 plane tickets and a hotel in Paris or Vienna).
I'm loving long-distance train journeys these days - more chilled than planes, go from city centre to city centre, and much better views. I'm waiting for OBB to roll out their single-person capsule beds on more routes - just a seat is a no-go and I don't really want to share.
Btw, Thalys rebranded as Eurostar last year following their merger, while they've recently changed their classes to Standard, Plus and Premier.
While I'm being a pedant, you may want to double-check the spelling of Executive at 04:50.
I was searching how to get around Europe 5 minutes before this video dropped! Thank you!!
Just in time!!
8:10 I don't know when this video was filmed, but the name Thalys does not exist anymore. The trains are now marketed under the Eurostar brand.
It's now the Eurostar high speed train between Paris and Amsterdam, Paul. The Thalys name was dropped a while ago. As for the Amsterdam to Berlin service, it's IC and not ICE. The rolling stock is sub par for a route linking two capitals.
Great fun video! I've travelled long distance on trains in UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, as well as China and Mongolia.
My longest train trip was in 2020 (just before Covid) from London - Paris - Brussels - Cologne - Hamburg - Copenhagen - Stockholm - (Ferry) - Helsinki - St Petersburg - Moscow - Yekaterinburg - Ulan-Ude - Vladivostok. Money and health permitting I hope to do it again!!
I guess the man in this video is just Wingin' it, by Paul Lucas ofcourse!
Great info and production quality in this video
Switzerland is definitely a place where the train ride is about the journey not the destination
The videos you guys make are incredible. Super informative and edited so well, I would love to get in touch with you guys just to pick your mind about editing techniques softwares etc! Let me know and God bless, keep making content!
The Paris/Milan Frecciarossa has been suspended on August 2023 because of a landslide, and is expected to restart Summer 2024, but tickets arent for sale yet. I loved all your suggestions and will certainly advise my clients about them. Great video
Thanks for the vid! :) only thing I'd mention is the Ireland rail map at 7:34 is most definitely wrong (some of those lines closed in the 1930s and the rest in the 60s generally) so the other European countries may not also be accurate!
100% agree about Zagreb -- there were hardly any tourists at all!
I love these maps ;)
Made by someone who's super talented :)
I took the night jet from Amsterdam to Zurich. I was scheduled to take the QBB night train from Zurich to Vienna but they cancelled my trip a day beyond was to travel. This moves took me with a trip one-way ticket from Vienna back to Zürich when I asked them to reimburse me for that ticket they said no I’m stuck with it.
👍👍
Thalys is owned by Eurostar
Shame that you only mentioned France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Croatia
There are more Great routes in Europe not just West Europe (except Croatia)
Share others and we'll make another video!
@@BrightTripTravel great idea! Thanks! Maybe I can mail you some ideas?
