Her centerfold was photographed by Frank Bez. Ahlstrand moved to New York City from Hollywood, California to pursue an acting and modeling career. She appeared in such movies as Living Venus, Beast from Haunted Cave, and in such TV Shows as Highway Patrol, and Johnny Stacatto. She returned to the Los Angeles area in September, 1965, when she got married. Ahlstrand continued to pursue an acting and modeling career before her untimely death to cancer at age 30 in Pasadena, California in 1967.

One of the greatest lines was when the wife realized she was married to someone who would hurt a innocent child. The wife said to her husband ;WHO ARE YOU ? Her husband went from bad to more evil and said he should hurt the girl and later that wanted to kill her.
I must disagree. The best line of the show was Dan shooing the deaf girl back into her seat of the squad car and saying "Susie, get back in the car, do you hear me? Get back in the car."
Did anyone else notice that right after the cop and girl enter the restaurant, Dan is driving alone in a Buick, and when he pulls up, he has another officer and is driving a Dodge? LOL

Dan wanted to always keep the crooks guessing. They simply never knew what kind of vehicle he was driving. Couldn't even be sure he hadn't pulled the old switcheroo on them between the police station and their hideout. One hell of a cop, Dan!
Linné Ahlstrand was the dispatcher. She also worked as a model. She was Playboy Playmate of the Month July 1958. She was in several episodes of Highway Patrol.

Think about this today officer Henderson probably could have used a tazer first in real life is there any chance that he could have been taken alive ? Let me know take care.
How did Mathews know what the girl was wearing....the mother never told him! Oooops..... And he then parked in front of a fire hydrant at the cafe.....tisk, tisk. ;-) And WHO was that gorgeous dispatcher?
I vividly remember watching this particular program about the sweet little deaf-mute girl! I was probably about 8 years old then and I was scared for her! Dan was both frightened and angry, too, and I just knew everything would be all right when he came on the scene! I was also hopeful because the woman robber was kind to her!
How did Suzie know about Glendale, when she was looking directly at the woman while the man was saying "Glendale"?? That's some fancy lip-reading right there!!!
Yes she is, I read she was playmate of the month July 1958, I was only 3 months old then, yeh she is smokin, I felt bad when I read she succumbed to cancer a very young women, RIP beautiful lady
Wow! Dan Mathews was one heck of a cop. He gives a detailed description of little Susie, yet the mother never described her hair color or what she was wearing. "Susie get back in the car! Do you hear me?" Dan, she's deaf! LOL!
Starting @ approximately 15:05, Dan Matthews is driving solo in a Buick patrol car. By the time he pulls up to the cafe, he's in a different patrol car with a uniformed officer.
"Susie's" mom did a great job but I wish they had cast Phyllis Diller in her place instead....! Special shout out to lovely Jean Maxey as "Edith". Compassionate, decent, loving, when you think about it and a looker, too. Give her minimum, set her up once outta the joint. ps: The POWER of the Buick Interceptor. WOW! Undeniable, just like Dan Mathews.
Jean Maxey played the kidnapper here, this role was totally unsuitable for her, On one level she is a kidnapper, on another level she is worried about the girl She lacked the courage to turn her husband into the Police now she pays the price of a long stretch in the big house .

She is STILL beautiful. What do they expect, that she would still look as she did in her 20's? People are stupid today. I have looked up Bobby Sherman, David Soul, I loved them back in the 1960's, David Cassidy was another. I can still see them as they looked when they were younger, only with silver and some wrinkles,Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot are two more. Now I would go with a man their age if I could find one distingushed looking like them. Even they look older. Dummies out there. (sigh) haha Have a great Thursday m friend.

LOL
"Susie, get back in the car! Susie, do you hear me?" Well, no.
If you shout hard enough deaf people can "feel" the vibrations.
@@flitsertheo Yea, but dip sticks like Brian can't!
The dispatcher was a very beautiful woman. So sad to read that she died so young.
In the 50s, there were many small family stores like this in Los Angeles. Its how we used to live.
That gun crazy cop (officer Henderson) saying "he's had it" is my uncle, Michael Kopcha
He also got to pull the trigger on that kidnapper! Good job Uncle!
Think about this today officer Henderson probably could have used a tazer first in real life is there any chance that he could have been taken alive ? Let me know take care.
Great episode
How did Mathews know what the girl was wearing....the mother never told him! Oooops.....
And he then parked in front of a fire hydrant at the cafe.....tisk, tisk. ;-)
And WHO was that gorgeous dispatcher?
Your right. I caught that also
"No matter how new. The safest device In your car Is you".
24:10 Mathews yelling at a deaf child " do you hear me "
Someone had a sense of humor
"Infamous line! "She must have SEEN us! DUH! NO kidding (laughter)
That was funny. They were standing right in front of her.
The guy just gets shot. Patrolman touches his Nose and says he's gone/dead. Amazing.
Sue and Dan sgould have gotten awards for this. Remarkable. Broderick was a pro in so many ways.
That's some fancy lip-reading right there!!!
who's the dispatcher?yeah, she's a looker alright. that doe eyed face on her, could do no wrong.
That was Linne Ahlstrand, she was in 5 episodes as the dispatcher.
@@rodgerkitchens7183 I looked up Linne Ahlstrand and read she died of cancer at the age of 30.. Very sad...
Yes she is, I read she was playmate of the month July 1958, I was only 3 months old then, yeh she is smokin, I felt bad when I read she succumbed to cancer a very young women, RIP beautiful lady
Hot 🥵 looking
Nowadays, a ten year old girl couldn't walk 1/2 a mile without a plastic bottle of water.
She probably can't write, either.
Wow! Dan Mathews was one heck of a cop. He gives a detailed description of little Susie, yet the mother never described her hair color or what she was wearing. "Susie get back in the car! Do you hear me?" Dan, she's deaf! LOL!
The Road Block--The best crime solving method ever!!
Damn look at that dispatcher. She never ate any cookies at work.
There's this little roadside cafe ... if only I could remember the name of it. Dangit!
Same buildings and roads every episode... only the names are changed to confuse the ignorant.
Watching these, I've often wondered about those very (deserted and dusty) roads today. Many have to be busy four-lane highways among many buildings.
@@ctranger yeah, that's for sure.... I commented above at how there was no traffic.
Ha ha ha ha 😂 THANKS 🍃
In episode 22, in this series, Dan is a hostage at this roadside cafe!
The HP do not waste public money on trials, prison etc. The bad guy nearly always ends up dead!
What a lovely dress you're wearing there Mrs. Haskell.
I love the old cars / Trucks
Fred got what the bum deserved in the end, Edith got a quickie divorce, and Susie had great penmanship.
Jean Maxeys character also went to jail for a long time for kidnapping
Starting @ approximately 15:05, Dan Matthews is driving solo in a Buick patrol car. By the time he pulls up to the cafe, he's in a different patrol car with a uniformed officer.
You are wrong. We never see him in the car alone. We don't see him in a car until he pulls up to the store.
Kevin McCann No, Kevin, you're wrong. Watch the episode again, starting at the 15:05 mark.
And you wonder why the crooks always lose in less than 26 minutes? With a tricky dick like Dan on their case, they don't stand even a small chance!
Jean Maxey played the kidnapper here, this role was totally unsuitable for her,
On one level she is a kidnapper, on another level she is worried about the girl
She lacked the courage to turn her husband into the Police now she pays the price of a long stretch in the big house .
It is very lucky that only one crime happens at a time in this world.
Also, they sure are getting their use out of that '57 Country Sedan.
It cracks me up that the first law enforcement agency the victims call is the highway patrol.
The dispatch in this episode is HOT!!
+Michael Hollier That dispatcher, if still with us, is well over 80 years old today. haha Yes, she is hot, today. Hot from the Ben Gay,and blankets. haha I better not laugh, she may have been the women who did a sky dive for her 85th or 80or 90~something birthday that the news reported a while back. haha
I like your style Helen...I think I looked her up on the net, she did a number of episodes on this show, I bet she is as charming now as she was then..have a great day.
Michael Hollier She was beautiful in her younger years. Probably still beautiful. I get a kick out of how some young guys drool never thinking how old the one they drool over is today.haha Now people like Elizabeth Taylor was beautiful till the end, and I saw the tabloids rip on Bridget Bardot aging bad.
Well said & written, I feel the same way, for me they are the Barbra Eden, Lee Meriwether, Elizabeth Montgomery, you know what I am talking about. I have many golden age screen goddesses pics in my screen files, I try to imagine the life & times that they must of had..RiP to them all. Have a special night m friend!!
Michael Hollier You too. If you are on facebook, look me up. I'm the Helen Kruse in Cassatt,South Carolina (USA) Just drop me a note so I know it's you and not a scammer. I have had the picture of the same old man now 4 times in the last 6 months all with different names sending me "friend" requests. Now those I know are scammers. My page is open and I noticed,I now have 500 followers. haha They love to hear what this "ole" lady has to say. haha I love it. i have about as many on here too. I almost died laughing the other night when i though about it. Who knew it would take the internet to make me famous. haha
22:30- did they skip out on the meal?
Guess that Officer paid for it up front. I didn't see Dan leave any monetary tip however.
Nah in those days you don't leave a tip.
Looks like it
Notice they never have any fender benders, so respectful to the beautiful automobiles!
But could do a rolling stop and block the road at the sane time. Some nifty driving but I know also they would reuse that footage in other episodes.
The kid is brilliant in this great programme
The best part of these programs -- is that the good guys (cops) are ready and willing to shoot the bad guys! Sometimes even fatally.
Because, unlike real life, they had a script to go by and knew that the person they shot was the bad guy.
I had a 57 Ford wagon just like that.....ran on seven cylinders!!
24:15: Suzy, get back in the car! Suzy, do you hear me?!?! Love this series but the ad-libbing didn’t work here (or hear)!
That dispatcher was HOT!...HOT!...HOT!...AS WERE ALL THE WOMEN WHO APPEARED ON THIS SHOW..
Linne Ahlstrand Miss July 1958. Sadly died of cancer at only age 30.
Smoking hot!
"susie, get back there, do you hear me? Get back!".... 😂😂😂😂
Good Series. Nice seeing a female dispatcher and there actually quite a few in late 50s. By the 60s, almost all dispatchers were female. Radio cars were very important and dispatchers were obviously vital.
The bad guy ,actor John Sebastian, also played bad guys in a few of the color Dragnets about 10 years later.
Thought girl was gonna write " Fred and Ethel "
"Whenever the laws of any state are broken, a duly authorized
organization swings into action. It may be called the State Police,
State Troopers, Militia, the Rangers... or the Highway Patrol. These are
the stories of the men whose training, skill and courage have enforced
and preserved our state laws. ".....damn straight! 21/50 bye
