Yeah I wish he was like kit in the clone wars but the real reason kit died so easily was because kit was actually putting up I fight and then he sensed Anakins presents and he got distracted palpy took advantage of that and killed kit.

@@thebookwithmanycovers no mace just uses a force technique called vaapad and he basically uses it and uses the dark siders powers and uses it against them plus mace is perfectly balanced in the force so he uses not light and dark

I’m actually fine with the fight we got because the canon explanation for Kit’s death was that he was the first one to recover from the Force Scream because he was the smartest, wisest, and strongest force user there. You can actually see Kit block a strike by palpatine that would have killed him since Mace didn’t recover yet. But Kit knew that Mace had the best chance of defeating Sidious because he was the better duelist than himself so he saved Mace for a second time by stepping in front of a strike that was directed at Mace and sacrificing himself.
But isn't mace unaffected by the scream? Because his style thrives on others using the dark side of the force

@@azacct9854it was almost as bad as some sequel fights. Could've found another double with a hood on, or just waited one more day. The impact of the scream should've had more emphasis. And the camera work until the end wasn't very good at all

I wish we had more of Kit Fisto in the fight, maybe with him sacrificing himself to protect mace from Sidious. His death feels a bit anticlimactic after watching The Clone Wars, which developed him as a character. Xx
This clip is a bit zoomed in before the deleted scene, but you can sorta see Kit step infront of a strike that would have killed Mace. Kit knew Mace had a better chance of defeating sidious due to his better dueling skills, so sacrificed himself which led to Mace gaining the advantage at getting sidious down to the window.

I prefer the cut we got. It made Sidious seem like he was in a league where only the best of the best Jedi could compete against him.
The cut we got was pretty terrible tbh. It looked like a couple of actors who have never used a sword slowly swinging at each other. It takes you out of the movie for me.
@@oldgreggscreamybaileys6618 They were up against the greatest Sith to have ever existed at that time and favored using Force augmentation to blitz his opponents. Of course they would seem slow by comparison. The fight was fine as is.
@@KingNazaru that’s fine but you could still easily tell it just looked like some actors who were slow and didn’t know what they was doing. Even as a kid it looked bad to me. Compare that to Obi and Anakin which was done properly.
@@oldgreggscreamybaileys6618 That’s not a legitimate comparison. Anakin and Obi Wan’s levels weren’t that wide despite Anakin having far more potential due to being the Chosen One. Plus Obi Wan knew how Anakin fought and could thus better keep up with him. You can’t say the same for Darth Sidious. Sidious is a league where you have to be Mace Windu level in terms of combative skill to not get instantly finished.

There's actually a reason they died so fast. Palps used force scream and speed. So they couldn't use the force and he was moving so fast they couldn't see him

@@deckzone3000Yes, but dude, the actor is an old man, but George Lucas' intention was to show Palpatine being infinitely superior to the Jedi, in the novels he explained that the Jedi had never seen a lightsaber move at that speed, Palpatine was broken

That was a wtf moment but The Last Jedi was a wtf movie.
Yeah apparently George refused to have the stuntman do the scene and insisted on Ian doing basically the whole thing, which is why the council had to get blitzed and Palpatines duel with Mace was so slow, because Mcdairmid was in his late 50s or something and wasn't physically able to perform the original scene.
It actually makes sense why he defeats everyone but mace windu. When palpatine jumps and spins he does a sith scream causing everyone but mace to be stunned. Mace was not a victim of this because he uses the dark side of the force
Another comment already said this but kit was actully the first to react he blocked a shot that was going for mace and then he also got in the way to protect mace because he knew he was a better duelist

Definitely would've been nice to see these "masters" put up somewhat of a fight with Sidious. It just seems like they didn't put any effort and that they spaced out for a moment there

It was gonna happen but Lucas wanted sidius actor to do the choreography instead and he wasn’t able to do much of it since he was too old

Duel is actually when two people fight, this is when a team goes against one.
George Lucas trying not to cut out amazing scenes challenge (impossible) (chosen one difficulty).
For those who don't know this scene was going to be a full fight, but George wanted to use Ian macdurmad instead of a stunt double so just 30 minutes before filming George says he wants Ian and we have the current fight which is also why he goes from standing to screaming and twirling with his lightsaber

Kit fisto and my favorite Star Wars character it was nice to see him have a lot of speed to last longer in battle

The reason was that palpatines actor decided last second that he wanted to do the fight himself. I think. It could have been a duel of fates level fight but instead it ended up being an original trilogy level fight lmao
