1:18:43 This brings to mind a dream I had about 10 years ago, where I was in a great hall filled with women who were celebrating something I knew nothing about. I found my mother in the crowd and next to her was my grandmother who had passed, which seemed odd yet I was just glad to see her. I said to her, "Wow, look at all these women. I don't know any of them except you two." I was about to ask my abuela (grandmother) if she recognized anyone when she looked at me askance and declared, "Of course you know all these women!" Just then I saw past her shoulder her mother (my great grandmother) whom I recognized from the photos I grew up with, and beside her was my grandfather's mother who passed when he was only 10 years old. Before I could speak, they all went quiet and turned to me. Every eye looking at me with love and kinship. I realized then that all these women where my ancestors and in unison without moving their lips they said to me, "You are the culmination of all of our hopes, dreams, fears, and wishes. You represent us all in the flesh." At the time I was inactive, having lost my faith, and even considered myself an Atheist. Even so, I immediately went on Ancestry and did genealogical work. I only came back to church three years ago after two decades away, and while getting acquainted with all the new cool tools the church uses now, I came across Family Search. I migrated my Ancestry data to Family Search and in a matter of a few connections I was able to link my tree to other members' tree that led to finding family all the way back to the 1500s! Most of them hadn't even been baptized! So I got to work to get all their work done (both male and Female). Recently, my mother had a similar lucid dream the night after her parent's work in the temple was done. Mind you I am the only member in my family. In my mother's dream, my grandfather appeared to her wearing a robe while holding a bunch of birthday cards. In life he had been a severe and austere individual, haunted by his painful past. However, in her dream he was excited and joyful. He told her that it was his birthday, even though his earthly birthday had past months before. He shared all the cards he got with her--without understand why it meant so much to him--and she was just elated he was happy. My grandmother appeared to her too but she was grieved, distraught at how ambivalent my mother was to her. My grandmother told her how heartbroken she was that they didn't get along. I now understand that our relationships are what set us apart as a unique church. We know that our connections can persist in the hereafter. God bless my mother, but she is as stubborn and self centered as my grandfather was, so she just doesn't get it. She doesn't even want to be sealed to her parents if I do her Temple work by proxy. I had to interpret the dream for her and explain why Abuelo (my grandfather) was gleeful. "He is reborn through baptism," I told her. "He is free from the chains that bound him in torment." And I can't fully quantify here how profoundly moved I am to know that such a hardened man had embraced his spiritual heritage and is now on the path of righteousness. My poor mother may not understand it, but that dream is what motivates me to continue this work. I wont rest until it is all done. I now see my Redeemer's gift with understanding and the power His priesthood is to bind all things on Earth and in Heaven.

AMEN . i work in the temple . i , and many others including my wife , had experiences with the SPIRIT while doing HIS work of "gathering Israel on both sides of the veil ". don't stop !!
I may not completely understand the priesthood but man am I forever grateful for it in my life. To me it is a powerful thing. Just last week the power of the priesthood was made manifest as my father in law and neighbor blessed me to get well. I was so out of it from having a high fever and a bad reaction to medicine that I had no idea what was going on. My husband was gone to work and called my Relief Society Pres to come over and check on me. She couldn’t get me to calm down and said I was milling around and repeating the same things over and over again. As soon as I received that priesthood blessing, I was able to sit down, calm down, and go to sleep. I don’t even remember my father in law or neighbor being there or giving me that blessing. All I know is that it worked, that priesthood blessing began my healing. I’m so thankful for Heavenly Father allowing the worthy men in His church to hold and administer that power to the blessing of His children here on earth.
Todd has paid the deep, private price to share truths that only come with high price. May we all be familiar with that price and cherish the accompanying truths. Love ya brother.
Wow I love your comments! I am striving and making a huge effort to be open and be taught and yes there has been a price paid. I appreciate your comments because I just had a paradigm change at looking at my current lot and the journey these last 9 months. Significant of the number of months and a new birth happening in my intellectual understandings and emotional as well
@@frankcastle5513 I'd say it means a lot of pondering, temple attendance, conference listening, scripture study, and meaningful prayer. It's the spiritual work. God loves effort.
love = a gift without cost or price above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oth, but let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under CONdemNATION
This is the best RUclips episode I've ever heard. On my sixth birthday, just after moving from New Orleans to Denver, my triangles were literally shattered. I had seen the mountains in the distance, and they looked like triangles. When my parents told me people lived in the moontains, I thought they lived underground, in the triangles. The triangles were shattered as we drove up a narrow canyon to Evergreen, and then I understood what it meant to live in the mountains. I knew from that introductory story that this episode was going to be very special to me.
I want so much to be in a position to receive the Second Comforter. I pray with every fiber of my being that my family and I will receive the blessing from God. So many of us lack in understanding and think that by DOING the ordainaces we will receive. We are all living the lesser law and should strive for all God desires to give. Thank you Brother McLaughlin for your point about family and our willingness to reach out to our loved ones.
The temple endowment and what is taught there teaches us the process of seeing the face of the Lord. We are either Adam and/or Eve, and as we go through the ceremony we are practicing the process that leads us to be able to part the veil, see the face of Christ, and in turn, He can lead us to see the face of the Father (and Mother). All the examples in the Book of Mormon, from Nephi, to Alma, to Mormon, to Moroni, to the Brother of Jared, are lessons an how, through the guidance of the Spirit, we can be led to and obtain the second comforter, see the face of the Lord, and be taugh by Him, just as the aforementiond prophets did. God wants us all to return to Him, but we must do the work, ask, seek, and pray, and the veil can be parted, even for us, in the the flesh.
What you say is true, in context, but it's only the beginning of the whole. I wish the video was a clear, concise, and as truthful as your statements. That is at least a stable foundation to progress from. The assertions and wandering doctrine portrayed in the video diverges from the principles found in your comments, and one particular doctrine discussed leads one away from the truth altogether. May our Lord bless you and keep you.
Thanks for your comment. I would love to hear comments from you and others on whether the following is true: we don’t get to decide when that experience will happen. We should live in a way that qualifies us for those highest blessings but the Lord’s time governs the receipt of those blessings. True or false?
To a degree, both true and false. The Lord allows us to progress as fast as we're able. In this way, we dictate the speed and direction we travel. On the other hand, it is the Lord who knows the order of experience and trials that will lead towards our ultimate potential. In this context, the timing and direction are in the hands of the Master.
It seems the most important individual step is to pray and ask "what do I need to repent of to progress inthis order of the priesthood?" That seems to be the most important prayer for everyone, in my opinion.
Thank you for sharing your insights and gospel knowledge. I once had a friend try to convince me that because my husband had pretty much turned his back on the gospel, and our children followed him, we could not be together in the eternities. It didn't make sense to me because we know progression doesn’t stop after we die. But I determined to do everything I can to convince my family, here or in the next life, to fully accept the Savior. You have given me hope that this is actually possible.
I love when I watch something like this that inspires me to take on more responsibility and make more sacrifices for the betterment of all of those around me! Thank you both for your words and insights 🙌
This podcast has opened my mind to so much personal revelation, and this particular episode has led me to understand some things going on in my life right now, and deepened my understanding of my temple covenants. Thank you so much for this!!
Please do The True Order of Prayer 🙏 I have been thinking about the traditions of our fathers for the past week and a half or so and when I clicked on this video I had no idea you guys would be talking about it. And tying it in to the temple is so important to me. This feels like turning a page that was glued shut before. I feel like I need to watch this video at least once more. Thank you for putting this on here. I have been a member all my life and yet I’ve been walking in darkness at noonday. I have been chugging the milk not realizing that there was meat all along. I am so grateful for your content. It’s changing my life by helping me come closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ❤
Early Christian Prayer Circles By Hugh Nibley might be fun to read or reread with these new insights. I also found it interesting that the etymology of the word “church” comes from the word for “circle.” 😊
I watch all your videos and this is by far one of the very best!! Todd has such a great way of teaching. Looking forward to the next on true order of prayer!
Sitting in the hospital right after my amazing wife delivered our 3rd listening to this. Hayden, your question and Todd's words about women coming clean really hit home. They are ideas that felt familiar, but your discussion made the words hit differently. Im going to keep pondering them. I love you brethren. I love the Savior, My Heavenly Father, His family, and grateful to be a part of it. Stay curious and hungry everyone!
19:10 Aw yiss, a fellow Hollywood Marine. I received my Eagle, Globe, & Anchor atop that mountain in December 1996 (2311 ammo tech, Sir!). Stepped off on the Crucible Christmas eve that year, the second company to participate in the then very new culmination training exercise. Wild times and wonderful episode. Thank you and bless you all so much for the deep deep dives.
"The temple endowment was given by revelation. Thus, it is best understood by revelation, prayerfully sought with a sincere heart." Each person has a paradigm or personal perspective from their lives that they must work through in order to best understand what the Lord is asking them personally to do in order to obtain the highest blessings available. ❤
You should go back and look at the versions of the endowment that was "given by revelation". For an unchanging god, he sure has changed his nature and character over time, or over the tenures of the Presidents of the church, and the content of a required ordinance for salvation.

Todd is excellent and one of the very few in the public space that understands the path of ascension on such an intimate level. Thank you for this! I’ve been studying the path of ascension over the last year or so and this video bridges a few gaps for me.
@@AFallenMan what is your email address? I can send you a Google document that I have put together and continue to add to - it is 99% scriptures and quotes.
Thank you both very much for this incredible video. Others have already said it too, but this is definitely one of the best videos. Todd actually even outdid himself in this one, and that's an extremely difficult thing to do. Please do another one very soon, and discuss the true order of prayer. In the meantime, I have a question about this one, too. Todd mentioned a verse that said something to the effect of "we will bear with those whom we claim". I'd like to know the scripture reference for that. That insight, along with all the others provided was fantastic. Thank you again!!!
Hayden, I love your deep dives into doctrine and eternal truths. This topic has been of particular interest to me the last few years. Particularly, women and priesthood and temples. This is what I've learned from my study and pondering. It may provide insight to your question at time stamp 1:11:08 about women pronounced clean and men may become clean and that relationship with priesthood and temples. May I clarify something first... when sisters receive their washing ordinance, they are washed "that you may become clean from the..." So, a process of sanctification is implied. Meaning, women don't arrive at the Temple already clean. However, when we realize that the Temple is all about creation and we understand that the power of the Priesthood is the power of creation and is the power by which Temple ordinances are sealed, we then come to realize that "creation" is the missing link. Ask yourself, why do men have to have the Melchizedek Priesthood to enter the temple, but women do not? The key lies in their ability to "create"...to nurture life. Women are born with the power to create. Men are given the power to create through Priesthood Power. It's all about creation. Hope that helps.
I absolutely love this so much and the tender heart of Todd, expressing the depth of emotion that was deep. I am so very grateful for this video. I have been straining to understand the " power of the priesthood" what is it and what in the world am I supposed to be doing...this helped so very much. I have listened twice already and will be listening again and again!
Thankyou for all the knowledge you share! This was nice to receive more knowledge and understanding thru the scriptures! I sure enjoyed the time you and your wife shared your experience! They seem to strengthen my testimony even more! I enjoy some more than others! So Thankyou for your time and testimony!!🤗🙏🏻
This is great! The one thing though with the priesthood is there isn't a "lesser", so to speak. It's a level to reach the next level. Thanks for this! So much significance with ordinance just like the atonement. It's so vast!! 🙏❤️⚘️
I think Aron was transfigured. I read the three versions of the Bible jubilee and jasher and the old testimont. It spoke verily similar, like Mosses supposed transfiguration or death. And we know Moses was transfigured. So I wonder if that is the reason we have a priesthood order named after him because he was a very great man as well.
Can we love this podcast? We’re sitting and watching it as a family learning so much! One thing that the apostles ask Jesus is why did he speak in parables and his answer was that that it wasn’t meant for them to understand so for some people it’s not meant I absolutely know that shows a Smith he knew so much and he knew it all. The reason I would know this because the things that I have learned from the way that I am taught, and a lot of my friends always send me this which Joseph Smith always says that from or to game wisdom and knowledge is better than any book is from to be taught from on high excuse me I’m sorry but he was taught from on high and when you’re taught from high, you learn things very quickly. I remembered that when he introduced them priesthood, do you go back and read that he said there’s many hidden powers in the Mazda Priest and he said these powers would be kept hidden until the last days and the only named one which was the power to be translated so he knew those powers, he knew they were hidden
I'm so happy you mentioned that men and women recieve their iniciatory ordinances and sit separately to receive their endowment ordinances individually. I know several women who won't go to the temple because they feel it is connected to their sealing to a man they are no longer married to. I encourage all Young Women to receive their endowment as soon as they are ready before they get married so it is a personal choice and blessing for them in the future.
I really appreciate the great content that Brother Todd provides here. These are helpful insights. One thing that might be worth mentioning here: At 42:20, Todd refers to the "preparatory priesthood" - it's interesting to note that the scriptures never use this term! The scriptures do refer to the priesthood of the preparatory gospel (See D&C 84:26). I believe this is important because when we use the phrase "preparatory priesthood", we may get the idea that the Aaronic priesthood is preparing us for something - like maybe the Melchizedek priesthood. I do not believe this is the case. Instead, I believe the ordinances of the preparatory priesthood prepare us for, or allow us to be justified before, the Holy Ghost can sanctify us. Todd is so careful and concise in his language, that I only mention this as it might be helpful.
I have thought along these lines since reading that after Adam was baptized he was told that now he was after the order of Jesus. As a woman I have been trying to understand what President Nelson has been trying to get women to understand about the Priesthood. I had come to the conclusion that baptism was the way to enter the order of the Son of God, which is the name of the Priesthood. But this makes things much clearer. Power is the amount of work over time we can do. Entering the order, following Christ's ways makes us able to abound in Good works (Ether 12:4). Here is the reference to the Baptism of Adam. Moses 6:65 And thus he was baptized, and the Spirit of God descended upon him, and thus he was born of the Spirit, and became quickened in the inner man. 66 And he heard a voice out of heaven, saying: Thou art baptized with fire, and with the Holy Ghost. This is the record of the Father, and the Son, from henceforth and forever; 67 And thou art after the order of him who was without beginning of days or end of years, from all eternity to all eternity. 68 Behold, thou art one in me, a son of God; and thus may all become my sons. Amen.
Thank you so much for this insight. I truly want to know more to receive the second comforter and understand the true order of prayer. Please release this you tube soon !! Love what you are doing !!❤
Reminds me of Sand Hill at Benning. Right of passage. The final stretch that led to our blue cords as Infantry. Moreover, when I deployed to Iraq in 2009, my brother was deployed at the same time but was nearing the end of his. He dropped in on me while we were in Kuwait and that E-6 had full bird colonels jumping through hoops to find me because he rolled in wearing khakis, a loaded sidearm, and an up-armored Chevy Suburban. He was pulling PSD for VIPS and was in the neighborhood.
You don’t give pearls to your children 41:39 but you tell them stories about treasures and adventures and when they are ready they will seek after your riches and create their own adventures.
Alright, you caught my attention there. I was playing Block Blast and listening to this podcast and when I heard clasping 4 times and at the end, hold fast to it “IN A SURE WAY” just blew my mind. Gonna have to go back to your videos of the temple with Dave and rewatch it again 🤦🏽♂️
Todd, I still remember the conversation we had at my Parent's house in Utah. You are a wonderful student of truth. It was so good to see you clarify what "Priesthood" is. What should be highlighted is their walk in life, their connection to the Spirit, or Mind and Will of God. You have done so much to think independently, press forward in that and finish finding that truth. Also, the temple endowment, can we be honest?...Can we go back and look at this ceremony over time? Can we go back and look at the remnants of what used to be? Can we be honest enough to say that Brigham Young was the chief priest who authorized the endowment in Utah, the one that would have taught that Adam was our God? Can we be honest and say, blood atonement was a part of that ceremonies teachings? Should we not try and go back and investigate what Joseph did? There are fragments, it was simple, it looked like the preparation at the base of Mount Sinai in Exodus. It is time to properly understand the endowments, in the same vein we look at the priesthood. Joseph had a very simple endowment, in a very simple temple. The current endowment is just an edited version of what Brigham Young did, with blood atonement, polygamy, Adam God, etc. You honestly, no kidding, should petition the church to revamp the whole thing, add some of the meat back in. But that would never happen, they cannot walk away from an "unbroken line of authority" even though, looking at the works of Brigham Young, I will not list them, but God would have said, amen to the authority of that man, breaking that line. God bless you.
Withoit being crude, this also made me consider an aspect of the divine feminine where we need to be invited to pass through the veil to fulfill the first command to Adam and Eve as we emulate the Father and Mother in the highest creative endeavor.
Hayden!!! Don’t you know that we can stop and start these videos as we need to, so 2 hrs or longer isn’t going too long for us, and we wanted to have access to the true order of prayer now, not in a future video!!! But I do realize that you can only go so long in making the video, so I’ll be patient b/c I appreciate all you do to produce all the content you produce. Thank you. 😊
1 hour later... This reminds me of Elder Uchtdorf's speech about setting off on a flight being only one degree off. There are so many things now that have the color of truth but are very measurably off.
I reread Section 84 as I was listening to this. RE: v 22 it struck me that in The Ascension of Isaiah, part of the reason they killed Isaiah was his claim that he had seen God and lived. They claimed that Moses said that couldn't happen. But Moses "plainly taught" the opposite (v. 24).
@abt 58, D&C 95:5 brings me to Isaiah 48:10-11 “Behold, I have refined thee, but not w silver; I have chosen (cld substitute w “tested”) thee in the furnace of affliction. … even for mine own sake will I do it; for how shld my name be polluted.” He calls us thru, even into affliction to be tested to see if we stand true. This is how prophets & apostles are chosen, & how we can be chosen to represent Him in any capacity. How could He choose His servants and representatives any other way? Or they might pollute His name instead of represent Him honorably. Being tried and tested is part of the being chosen process.
Hayden, I sure appreciate the work you and your brother and others put into these podcasts, they have really opened my mind to seeing some different things as I read the scriptures. I wanted to point out, though, that, while there are 4 groups of people seen in Lehi's vision... only two of them actually hold on to the rod. The others, as far as I can see, don't ever grasp the rod. Perhaps I am mistaken and you and Dave see something that I'm missing... Could you expound on where those other two holds are in Lehi's dream?
Regarding the discussion at 1:14:03. Sisters have been given the same admonition in Init. Veiling of women was never done because they were unclean. It was to honor and maintain their purity. The purifying rituals for women had to do with blessings and public health. Really enjoying the discussion. Thanks for the new insights.
Great insights into this topic. Just some feedback regarding audio quality. I do audio visual for a living and have done so for over 35years. An FYI regarding your audio quality and microphone use. In order to make your audio (what you are saying) more impactful, u really need to purify your audio by using a pop filter or finding a way to keep any of your breath from hitting the mic and only letting the sound waves to hit the mic sensor. Talk past the mic or back away more and increase the gain a little to compensate for the distance plus use a pop filter to dissipate the breath so it only creates pure voice audio. Seems like a small thing but as you know, by small means, great things are brought to pass. It will add a higher level of delivery and appreciation.
There's a great book called "Drawing on the Powers of Heaven" by Grant Von Harrison that talks about the steps required though prayer and faith to call down the powers of Heaven to achieve something etc. It talks about these steps that's you're tatking about like sacrificing but he lays it out in a precise order with the scripture references of how we should properly pray, apply our effort etc. I highly recommend it. It is very applicable to what he is talking about. I don't believe it's tied to the Priesthood but instead the faith of the person involved. The Brother of Jared is a great example of this.
This is the very best explanation I have ever heard of the path and covenant. This is so good. I have been following along with scriptures, pausing, praying, making notes. It has been a great gift. Thank you 🙏🏼❤️
32:26 Dave Butler’s book is brought up and the example of holding to the word of God (the iron rod) 4 times and on the last time it’s a sure grip. Anyone know what chapter in Dave’s book that example is in?
Would love more on sisters and priesthood!!! It’s amazing. How do they become high priestesses? There is no ordination like men, but sisters obviously are priestesses. How does that happen? 84 says those who are faithful to obtaining these two priesthoods. How do sisters obtain the two priesthoods? Simply through temple? Thank you!
Don't break apart different parts of the gospel, tie them together. Neither is the man without the woman neither the woman without the man in the Lord. After marriage they use the term Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Keller, you are bound as one, no longer two. Priesthood, like brotherhood, is an association of priests, she becomes a priestess, and is therefore in the fellowship that is called priesthood. Then you find that it is the holy spirit that is the mind and will of God, and it is by that, that all miracles come about. When they say "Power in the Priesthood", it means you receive the holy spirit, and that is the source of power that comes into the fellowship of priests that you are a part of. Setting you apart only gives you an invitation, you must pursue the power God is offering to receive it.
Yes, I agree!! Please talk more about how this works for the sisters and also any historical accounts of women as leaders, priests and deaconesses, etc. I think there are unanswered questions weighing on women’s hearts. Currently reading about women doing ritual faith healings in the early church and how wives could stand with their husband in giving fathers blessings. My heart aches for the things that were changed/lost.
I wish we as members collectively better understood the priesthood. President Nelson has plead with us to do so, especially how it relates to women. I think first we need to understand the Tree of Life, which another thing few understand as this channel teaches incorrectly. If you can find a copy of the book Hereos From The Book of Mormon is where I first started to understand. Just think about why Lehi prayed to understand the tree of life. It’s because the tree of knowledge of good and evil is much more straight forward. Understand both trees is key to understanding the priesthood and the roles that men and women play in it. The other key is Valerie Hudson’s teaching The Two Trees on FAIR. While I don't agree with everything she has to say, that's where I learned about how two genders and two roles are taught symbolically through two trees.
@@TheHappyNarwhals I don't agree with everything Valerie has to say, she definitely has helped us to better understand the symbols in the garden of Eden. A number of very respected church teachers which can be found online also agree with her. If you want to be able to understand the garden of Eden, understand the how the plan of salvation and the priesthood in regards to both genders, you need to understand the two trees.
When we consider to come clean, I remember several times when Joseph Smith was forgiven of his sins prior to receiving revelations and other major advancements in the Restoration.
Matthew 13 Christ tells the disciples that he shared the parable if the sower so that they could learn the MYSTERIES of God. Have you looked at he parable of the sower through the lens of the endowment? The Sower = God Seeds = Revelation Soil = Condition of your heart to receive revelation When you enter the endowment are you mentally and spiritually prepared to receive revelation in the Temple that will return you to the presence of God?
But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation
RE: Joseph's knowledge of the BoM, etc. I think it likely drove him nuts knowing what he did and being utterly unable to share it fully with anyone. I know a few things, here and there, that I share w/ some people and get the insta-glaze expression in return. It's surprisingly tough having that "blockage." I would presume some have that same problem when they share their thoughts w/ me. I think that's where that "strict command" references in Alma 12 comes into play, much to my chagrin at times.
24:00 Shem and Abraham were not contemporaries. The Hebrew Masoretic text has the wrong ages in the Genealogies between Shem and Abraham. The Greek Septuagint, the Samaritan Pentateuch and Flavius Josephus all record the following, Arphaxad 135, Shelah 130, Eber 134, Peleg 130, Reu 132, and Serug 130 (these ages make sense compared to Abraham and others for the time). The youngest of these sources the Masoretic text for some reason omits 100 years from each of the fathers' ages in its account. When we add back in the 600 missing years then Shem and Abraham lived nearly 400 years apart.
Guys... The interviews on this channel continue to floor me. I drive at night for a living and if I want to be inspired or receive clarity about a topic I come to this channel and this interview delivered not only nothing less but so much more than I thought it would. There is one question I would ask him. If the priesthood isn't something you get why did the scriptures speak about it being something that's received? Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding what he meant.
Are you a podcast how do I add you to my list to see every episode you guys have done or will do. I’ve tried to search for you on Podcasts and can’t find you. Please direct me. Love your podcast.
The priesthood, in its entirety, is the energy that entwines all matter from subatomic to galaxies without end. It seals generation upon generation. It is however governed by choice. Hey guys in one of the Stick of Joseph interviews with Dave Butler and Mike Day, they brought up a time in one of the books of Moses where Moses receives signs of the Lord on the mountain and then comes and shows the signs to the people, and they explained it in a way where the signs were connected to LDS temple theology. Before I try slogging through all of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy, or like 12 hours of youtube footage, does anyone know the passage in the Bible or the timestamp in a video? I want to make some notes on it in my scriptures. Thanks.
@@JojoD89 I agree, when I first heard about that topic (you know which one) I was told of how sacred it is and how it isn’t something people should really talk about. Not that it is bad, it’s actually so awesome that when I learned about it I got emotional… but I understand how sacred it is.
9:09 Our usage of "endowment" does NOT come from "dowry." That meaning of "endow + -ment" originates in the 1500s, and there are no scriptures to support this idea. In Hebrew that kind of endowment is "mahar" as we read in Ex.22.16. A similar idea is seen in Gen.30.20, zabad/zebed to bestow a gift or endow an endowment. Rather, the way we should think of "endowment" is from the Greek word "enduo", meaning "to clothe or be clothed with (in the sense of sinking into a garment)." See Luke 22.49 "And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." We can see this expressly in the OT as well, Judges 6.34 "the Spirit of Yahweh clothed Gideon"; 1 Chron 12.18 "the Spirit clothed Amasai"; & 2 Chron. 24.20 " the Spirit of God clothed Zechariah". And there is a lot more in the scriptures to illustrate this understanding. Being "clothed" is where we should start and that would fundamentally alter the rest of this discussion from the ground up including understanding the temple, understanding priesthood, priesthood power, fullness of the priesthood, ascension, and so on and so forth.
Kaphar / Kippur - To cover, to atone, to make reconciliation. “...And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account…” (Hebrews 4) “...I spread my cloak (Hebrew: wing) over you and covered your nakedness. I swore a solemn oath to you and entered into a marriage covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine…” (Ezekiel 16) “...And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)
Not sure if this got said in another of 382 other comments, but a little over an hour in when Hayden asked the question about the men being told they were clean from blood and sins of generations...... I I am 95% positive that the same verbiage is used for the women but we get it during initiatory. I need to go back and listen again because some of the wording has changed over the last few years so it may not be truly the same anymore. The one that kills me (with curiosity) is during the sealing of a husband and wife where the men are asked if they will do XYZ "with love unfeigned"...... but there is NOWHERE in ANY women's participation where that phrase is used with us.
Just learned after being endowed for 30 years that men get ordained before washing and anointing in the temple. My mother (endowed in the 60’s) and sister were having a temple conversation and realized that a man would need to be ordained before endowed and my sister asked her husband and he’s like oh yeah they do that before washing and anointing. Like how are women supposed to know all these things if the men don’t share what they do in the temple that’s dif from women. The men’s wording is also dif in the washing and anointing. I wish there was an actual temple prep course that taught these things more in depth so we aren’t finally learning things when we’re old and could have had a better understanding for decades!
I am a temple ordinance worker and understand your desire for a "class" that would teach all these things. I have had similar thoughts in the past. But as we learn in the temple, not only are the ordinances given by revelation, but they are best understood by revelation. I have learned this by much experience. The most meaningful things I have learned in the temple came when the Lord knew I was ready to receive them, and even though I was feeling "how could I have missed that [not realized it] for all these years", I knew in my heart that I was doing okay as I had been and it meant so much more to me when I finally had the (spiritual) light come on. I recently learned about at least one of the differences between the men's and the women's initiatory. It was a surprise, until I realized that, well of course it is different. And being on my own spiritual path (both together with and separate from my wife of 47 years), not knowing made no difference to my spiritual progress but when learned it was just another added little testimony of the truthfulness of this work. So, I understand what you are saying. And I am glad that there isn't "an actual temple pre course that taught these things." It has worked out so much better learning them through the operation of the Spirit. And I can't wait for the more that is bound to come, and be just as meaningful.
@@sdhlaw1yes I agree I know we learn and understand the meanings of everything as we attend but I’m referring to the basics. I think the men assume the women know they have dif wording and the ordination in washing and anointing and just don’t think to let the women know or assume at some point we are told it’s dif but we aren’t and we don’t know because we don’t do or receive the same as the men. Just curious if there’s other dif and why before attending the temple or even in temple prep class the dif aren’t pointed out. That’s what I’m asking.
I would’ve figured men having the Melchizedek priesthood conferred and being ordained to an elder before going to the temple was general knowledge. More-so as becoming missionaries but still. The Aaronic priesthood is the preparatory priesthood - preparatory to receiving greater responsibilities, like the Melchizedek priesthood. I would say not all men fully understand the meaning when they’re ordained to the Melchizedek priesthood. It’s a very deep subject. Just because we’re the ones receiving it doesn’t necessarily mean we understand everything. I wish I had understood some things earlier. I do think a lot of it revolves around having a desire to learn and being spiritually in tune. And you’re still just a dumb kid when you receive the Melchizedek priesthood and go to the temple. Also I had no idea the wording of the washing and anointing was different.
yes it’s common knowledge regarding ordination for first time but for doing these for deceased men as was mentioned in the video isn’t common knowledge. My mom at 82 and sister at 52 and attend temple weekly for years and decades never knew men were proxy ordained before washing and anointing. These are the little things that most people don’t know or think of unless someone asks specifically or is told. I’m just asking why aren’t these explained during temple prep class? So many things like this aren’t even realized and I think it would be helpful to know. My husband has never told me he is proxy ordained when he does initiatories and I would prob never even think of it because women aren’t
@ Ah, yeah my mind was elsewhere, that one makes more sense. It’s not necessarily part of the initiatory, it is a necessary, separate ordinance prior to receiving your endowment, just as for living men. For some reason I thought that ordinance was listed in Family Tree but it isn’t, so I guess there is no real obvious way to know.
Gee,I am a convert. I believe but why in the world did I have to wait how many years to hear this. Now I ca. Read, etc . ,but hearing this by the correct teachering, this is exciting. Heavenly Father is exciting. So I would like to hear the whole works of God as much as possible instead of being taught like i am still. In the first grade.

the " oath and covenant" of the priesthood INCLUDES baptism , initiatory , endowment AND sealing , with ALL the blessings of abraham , isaac , and jacob , and ALL other blessings GOD has yet to reveal. go to the temple and PAY ATTENTION .
Who gives authority? Who is the keeper of the gate? according to the bom he employs no servant there! Jesus is the priesthood, Jesus is the church! Jesus is the ordinance! what authority do any of us have in our priesthood pride outside of him? None , if a church gives you priesthood power yet you don’t abide in him and him in you, you have no power or authority. God can’t honor your priesthood blessings if your word is not his word, are we just playing pretend? He is the vine we are the branches apart from him we are dead in our works. Blessed is he that waits on lord. It’s signs of the believers not signs of the priesthood, does priesthood hierarchy create disbelief and pride at the same time ? If Jesus tells you to do something this all the priesthood authority you need by his word it shall be done. Women gave priesthood blessing in which Emma participated and gave a miraculous healing, Joseph defended it because it created a stir . If women don’t think they can walk in this authority because of false tradition in the church this creates a form disbelief , they never even try or ask because of the authorities outside of the vine. Furthermore for us to have this notion of the one true church because we have keys and authority and anyone who doesn’t believe in the way of our tradition is cut of from the vine if they one day don’t accept the Lds gospel now or after there dead is so against the Book of Mormon teachings and warnings of the pride and the state of our church. Alma baptized himself, Paul got authority from God outside of the church lines but the other disciples had to eventually recognize his authority, Samuel the laminate was an outsider who came in with authority to cry repentance and prepare people for Jesus. The word priesthood is never mentioned again in the bom post Jesus, it’s operation changed into the body of Christ where it’s authority abides in all who have entered it doesn’t lie with the twelve but in Jesus alone. Christ was the first and last high priest. It’s a mockery to suggest to God that we would need a head of the church that’s not him! Nephi was high priest, after Christ the last high priest fulfilled and came , Nephi stepped down in to servitude as a disciple, he was just a type and shadow of Christ his relationship and role changed after Christ.
I have a question, when an endowed/sealed man gets divorced- why is it breaking the oath and covenant of their priesthood and they cannot serve as bishop later on? Even if it’s not their fault and they remain faithful.? It seems like a suggestion that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is not sufficient for them.
I ministered to a single elderly sister who was divorced from her ex-husband because he was unfaithful. A couple things that I’ve learned about a divorce/breaking a sealing. 1) The Lord will not force you to be sealed to someone that you do not want to be sealed to. 2) when we are sealed to our spouse, we are at the same time being sealed to Christ. So when we break that eternal marriage sealing, that bond also breaks with Christ because the sealing is about familial relationships being bound to Christ. 3) It may simply depend on the circumstances of the divorce. If the man was unfaithful to his wife he may have disqualified himself from serving as a Bishop again. If the inverse were true, he would need to find another woman to be sealed to. As a bishop in the church, it is a requirement that a man who serves in that office be married, a high priest and is a man of mature judgement and character. It is interesting to note that a Branch President doesn’t need to be a high priest nor be married in the new and everlasting covenant. Now the points above aren’t doctrine but they make sense to me.
To recieve the 2nd comforter talk to Heavenly Father about this . Allrecieving comes through the Holy Ghost. He is the comforter after receiving baptism. Being human ,evidently we have recieve the works of God at a slow pace
You represent us all in the flesh."
At the time I was inactive, having lost my faith, and even considered myself an Atheist.

Thanks so much for sharing. ❤

WOW this is mind blowing!🤯I can't wait or I'm patiently waiting for the next one, "The true order of Prayer."
It seems the most important individual step is to pray and ask "what do I need to repent of to progress inthis order of the priesthood?"
That seems to be the most important prayer for everyone, in my opinion.
Wow. My mind has exploded several times, already, and I still have a half hour to go. This might be the best Temple/priesthood episode, ever.

Thank you both very much for this incredible video. Others have already said it too, but this is definitely one of the best videos. Todd actually even outdid himself in this one, and that's an extremely difficult thing to do. Please do another one very soon, and discuss the true order of prayer.

Yes please …let’s talk about the True Order of Prayer! Next step…let’s go there!!
The bottom rung of a ladder is one of the most important. No less important than the higher rungs.
Why have a problem with the word lesser? Hierarchy is everywhere, who cares?

I think Aron was transfigured. I read the three versions of the Bible jubilee and jasher and the old testimont. It spoke verily similar, like Mosses supposed transfiguration or death. And we know Moses was transfigured. So I wonder if that is the reason we have a priesthood order named after him because he was a very great man as well.
Thx. Very good. My son shared this video with me.
Can we love this podcast? We’re sitting and watching it as a family learning so much!
Oooo... This is gonna be a good un'. Coming back to it later when I can digest it
This was awesome, i have to watch it again.
That line ine temple , i have wanted an answer to for so long. Thanks soooo much 😊
I felt the spirit with this podcast which doesn't always happen. Thank you 😊
I'm so happy you mentioned that men and women recieve their iniciatory ordinances and sit separately to receive their endowment ordinances individually.
Thanks guys for the work you do
Shalom🎉
Amen.
this is a key bit, and to be more precise It was after Adam was baptized by fire and the Holy Ghost.
Thank you so much for this insight. I truly want to know more to receive the second comforter and understand the true order of prayer. Please release this you tube soon !! Love what you are doing !!❤
The Priesthood is EVERYTHING, without beginning of days nor end of years. Never started, has always been, will never be stopped, will never end.
Wow , that was amazing, thank you r sharing from Australia ❤
I am so glad Todd thinks Melchizedek is Shem. I have believed that since I was a teenager.
I also love his emotion many times during this.
The church published information that confirms this
Reminds me of Sand Hill at Benning.
I’ve already watched this twice over and I learned a lot more on the 2nd time… perhaps time for round 3😂💪🏼
I am an ordained Elder of the priesthood myself and I stand by it completely although I'm not an active member
How do you stay so affiliated even though you do not attend? (I also do not attend, but am a believer of Joseph Smith)
Go to church. The lord needs you.
That's so fascinating! That's why Simon couldn't buy the priesthood.
Withoit being crude, this also made me consider an aspect of the divine feminine where we need to be invited to pass through the veil to fulfill the first command to Adam and Eve as we emulate the Father and Mother in the highest creative endeavor.
It’s official, Todd is my kindred spirit
Thank you. 😊
I can't wait for the second part ¡¡!
Love this. Patterns
I dont understand all of this but i felt the spirit here very strong
Thank you for what you said about “parting veils”
Best one yet
Page 105-107.
I'm not sure but I think the sure grip is mentioned in the bonus video for chap. 5. Not the text.
Found it in the ch. 5 bonus video 18:00-18:40 mark.
@@JonLundy0 thank you so much!! I’ll go relisten to that video and check out the text.
Valerie’s two trees has a lot of garbage in it!!
@@TheHappyNarwhalslike what??
@@TheHappyNarwhals I don't agree with everything Valerie has to say, she definitely has helped us to better understand the symbols in the garden of Eden. A number of very respected church teachers which can be found online also agree with her. If you want to be able to understand the garden of Eden, understand the how the plan of salvation and the priesthood in regards to both genders, you need to understand the two trees.
When we consider to come clean, I remember several times when Joseph Smith was forgiven of his sins prior to receiving revelations and other major advancements in the Restoration.
Or even being baptised!
Please do a podcast on the importance of the Red Heffers!
Matthew 13 Christ tells the disciples that he shared the parable if the sower so that they could learn the MYSTERIES of God. Have you looked at he parable of the sower through the lens of the endowment?
The Sower = God
Seeds = Revelation
Soil = Condition of your heart to receive revelation
When you enter the endowment are you mentally and spiritually prepared to receive revelation in the Temple that will return you to the presence of God?
When are the Morgan Philpot videos coming out??
But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation
RE: Joseph's knowledge of the BoM, etc. I think it likely drove him nuts knowing what he did and being utterly unable to share it fully with anyone. I know a few things, here and there, that I share w/ some people and get the insta-glaze expression in return. It's surprisingly tough having that "blockage." I would presume some have that same problem when they share their thoughts w/ me. I think that's where that "strict command" references in Alma 12 comes into play, much to my chagrin at times.
of course
Wonderful! Thanks.
How about JST Genesis 14 for the oath of the priesthood?
The priesthood, in its entirety, is the energy that entwines all matter from subatomic to galaxies without end. It seals generation upon generation. It is however governed by choice. If you choose it you are unlimited. If you choose not to participate you stop progression and limit moving for being locked at that point.
I thought that was the Force, "It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together." - Obi Wan Kenobi
Thanks.
Minute at 1:05 game changer
This was fascinating
Can we get Todd to write a book (or ten)?
He is working on one!
I feel like this episode is walking the line, maybe crossing it, in revealing some things that should not be.
But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."
We can see this expressly in the OT as well, Judges 6.34 "the Spirit of Yahweh clothed Gideon"; 1 Chron 12.18 "the Spirit clothed Amasai"; & 2 Chron.
“...And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account…” (Hebrews 4)
“...I spread my cloak (Hebrew: wing) over you and covered your nakedness. I swore a solemn oath to you and entered into a marriage covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine…” (Ezekiel 16)
“...And look, I am sending you what my Father promised.
Please continue to NOT put up a paywall to videos. Please continue to Keep the gospel knowledge free.
48:13 there was no fire or spiritual outpouring at the Nauvoo temple
Too many priesthood holders do not use it right.. The way to use that power is to follow how Christ used it
Uhm, you hurt my brain. I get to go back and listen again! I appreciate what I was taught
Amazing, amazing video!!!,
You need to have more views!
I'm gonna send it to everyone and post it everywhere!
1:24:50 - Moses 5:52-57.....notice the repetition of "sons of men"
the " oath and covenant" of the priesthood INCLUDES baptism , initiatory , endowment AND sealing , with ALL the blessings of abraham , isaac , and jacob , and ALL other blessings GOD has yet to reveal. go to the temple and PAY ATTENTION .
1:10:17 the men are to preach the gospel, the women are not. So the men are held to be made clean of the sins of this generation by preaching to them.
It comes from a fundamental misunderstanding of what Priesthood is. Pay it no attention.
To recieve the 2nd comforter talk to Heavenly Father about this . Allrecieving comes through the Holy Ghost. He is the comforter after receiving baptism. Being human ,evidently we have recieve the works of God at a slow pace
