Ford Fusion, 2012. Dual Temp, Driver side is cold. Each vent going toward the passenger side gets warmer-not hot, with AC on. Took out the passenger actuator and with it plugged in, it turns fine and also turns the dampers two positions. The new actuater operates the same as the old so, It doesn't appear to be the problem. Do you think my problem is the driver side actuator? Hmmm. Update. Just checked the drivers side and the unit turns when I turn the temp up and down. Any Ideas?
@@automotivetech-vet really for anyone who is having the same problem as me, you can infact switch it back to cold without the blend door installed at all. Just turn it with a crescent wrench. This will get you by until you receive the part
@@automotivetech-vet I’m having the same issue. 2011 Ford Fusion SE. only blows hot air which I’m thinking is the actuator in this video, but I’m curious if the one behind it will also need to be replaced because my hot air ONLY comes out one direction. Thanks for any help anyone can give!
If you said youve changed a few parts already then do this to try n diagnose it, remove both battery cables for about 5 minutes. Connect them back. Turn on your A/C to the max cold setting. If you feel cold air on the drivers side vents only you may have a leak, best way to check it is buying a dye leak tester and do the test at night. Your gonna need a black light.
Your probably gonna have to pull the whole dash to fix and pull the whole box to fix sorry to break the news if u can get a screwdriver in the corner of the flap you can manually flip the door to the hot or cold position for now
My a/c will switch to heat after running for a while. It will be blowing cold air and all of a sudden it will start blowing hot air even though ac is still engaged. Sometimes I can turn the temperature dial to hot, close the vents, and let it run like that for a minute and turn dial back to cold and it will be cold again for a few minutes then goes back to hot air. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Mine does the exact same thing. It works most of the time, but then just randomly starts blowing hot air. The freon does not appear to be leaking and the compressor is appropriately charged. It just about has to be either the actuator or the temp control module. This is what I'm working to figure out right now.
Mine does the same thing. I can't figure out what's wrong but I pull the fog light switch out and it makes the ac blow cold again. So I just drive around with fog lights on 😂
So my car has the duel climate control and the passenger side will go from hot to blowing atmospheric temp when turning on the AC but it’s not to cold. Could that be the blend door?
Thank you for mentioning the 2 vs. 5 pins connector. My Dorman part has 2, had to send it back!
You are the only one who shows wht to do and what to look for in the cartridge thk u..
Your welcome hope u fixed it
Heaven help you in the Summer. You get intense heat without Air. Thank for the tips!
Thanks yeah it's miserable lol
2011 ford fusion repaired using this as well! Thank you!
On the actuator above the one you fix I’m having trouble getting to the top screw. That metal plate is in the way unscrewing it
Did you figure it out I'm having same
Good video
I looked under the dash to replace the actuator and there is 2 of them. Should I replace both of them
@@garnettthomaz2064 yeah if you can get to both of them I would definitely replace both of them
You need to watch the video upside down and it makes a lot more sense.
How does this repair differ from a dual temp control in a 2010 Fusion?
Pretty much the same
Hey man! Do you a tool that can fit on the passemger blend door?? Nothing fits the gap

It usually is the driver side one most of the time but google it I think there was a tsb on repromming the head unit
@@automotivetech-vet Thank you.
Does that happen also for the part were when you turn the knob for the part of were the air comes out

HELP! Mine just stop blowing air. I can hear the fan turn on but no air is comimg out at all. Could this be the problem?
whats the part number, great video by the way
No way it’s going on easy for me😮
Can a bad blend door cause a 5 volt reference code on check engine?
No
Is it the same for a 2011 ford fusion se?
Yes 👍
Ok so amazon sent me the one with 2 prongs of course so how can I rig this one to be stuck on cold until I get the correct one in mail?
U can't rig it sorry 😐 🤷

Could you pls show me where is the mode door actuator, because the electrician said need to remove all the dashboards to reinstall new one
Thanks
The mode door is behind the dash it's 7 hours the hardest one to replace
Need help. Which one to replace if my AC is stuck on heat? Thanks
The one in this video is it my friend

Is it on the driver’s side or passenger side
Passenger side
@@automotivetech-vet
You removed the brake light switch that’s on the driver side dude…
The white cap thing fell off my actuator, is that a big deal ?
I replaced it and climate control still not work, what else you think is my problem?
Maybe a bad control head
@@automotivetech-vet you mean the climate control? The one under the radio with a power button too? I change too 😭
Yes

Yeah where the actuator clicks into on the side of the box
@@automotivetech-vet so essentially inside that hole? Which direction do I need for heat? Btw Thanks for your help!!!
I think counter clockwise but if not just warm the car up and flip it both ways if I'm wrong till u have heat bro
Can u post a video my heat seat is not working i changed my fuse but didn’t work same car
I’m having a problem where it completely turns off. No heat or Ac. Could this be the same problem?
No it's probably the head unite

First off you turn the brake light switch CLOCKWISE NOT counterclockwise
Low freon or cooling fan not working

Did that help the heat work?
Installed it n it didn't work tried to tighten but it came out n I could not get it attached after several tries.
Try cycling the position while trying to drop it in
try resetting system
Great job except al the whining!
what if my driver side is blowing cold and passenger side is blowing hot
It must be duel climate control. Passenger side blend actuator died in the hot position, it's behind the glove box to the left on the side
