Janis, "The Light At The End of The Line" is sounding like an amazing album of 2022, as is this opportunity to listen to you here, on the eve of MLK Jr Day. What a way to go on, not out, for you so deserve some time just for you beyond traveling and performing and, and, and... Do stay safe as you tour during this strange pandemic times, now into a third year. Take very good care!

Now THIS was a wonderful surprise! It's June 18, 2020 and I'm surfing UTube & happen to run into an interview with my teenage idol (back in the 70's) Janis Ian! What's so cool about this is I have the privilege of listening in on an interview with her - from over 20 years ago. All of the topics they discussed are just as relevant now as they were back in the 90's. A N D. ... I get to enjoy a mini concert performance! Too cool! I couldn't have asked for a better way to end the day!

I researched to find out what had become of what I termed,
“ the white girl with an Afro,” from the 70’s...and I’m a black woman. So glad I found this post! WOW!!! I loved Janis... when I was actually 17...& love her today. Passing her name onto my daughter, a recording artist, Alicia Olatuja, touring with the great Billy Child, on Laura Nyro’s musical songs. Alicia’s own Cd “ Intuition: Songs From The Minds Of Women” champions women song writers... past & present.

Well, I've been an admirer for around 45 years or so. I'm not much of a concert goer partly because I don;t like crowds, BUT, I think I remember that you were coming to Glasgow to a smaller venue in 2020 and of course, that went with everything else due to Covid.
If you are going to reschedule, possibly Oran Mor? I will be doing my damndest to be there. I really hope hugging will be reinstated as that is something I SO miss.
Thank you for being you, all the music & the "talent"

Amazing story as she described it: childhood history, writing and performing her initial hit. How it came about, what she went through to put it out there, all that. Love that one hit though, tears to my eyes. Deserving of her awards, etc. But...As soon as she did her second song, I realized, she's just one of those "one hit wonders". A three-chord routine with run of the mill angry-ish lyrics begging for attention. I respect her legacy but her songwriting came to an end over 40 years ago. Not to understate her feelings, and her ability to pen them onto a song, but the end-product of her later songs are just not what I was expecting. Sorry, but boring. Just me, your opinions might differ.

SHES is ONE hell of A STORY teller AND one HELL of an EFFECTIVE story teller. AND ......I WAS a college broadcaster IN 1976 when this was RELEASED. rick sklar PD of THE best t 40 radio station EVER-was out teacher. HE SUDDENLY brings in JANIS one day TO VISIT out CLASS in action. WE were all stunned to see THIS legend THEN in our class SITTING in the SAME class ROW as the rest of us. SHE was VERY NICE to call of us. AND this SONG. fantastic MELODY THEN as it still is NOW. and TOP 40 music OR CHR music NOW since 1981????? 99 % hellish NON melodies. YOU ALL think about what i am saying here. THIS WORLD NOW is a AWFUL mixture o 98 % FREE WILL EVIL and GODLY like evil WAY to much of every day. I LEARNED the truth AT 17 so said THE janis LADY.so says here SONG now to ADMIST no melodies. THINK ABOUT it folks HOW far AMERICA has INTENTIONALLY fallen since 1981 in all BUSINESS and SOCIAL systems AND in MUSIC.
