It seems like some of you have misunderstood my stance on the Vita. So allow me to clarify: I love the PS Vita. I love my PS Vita. I think the PS Vita is really good. But it isn't perfect. This video is to explain why it might not meet your expectations and for touching on some negatives. I've made multiple videos, even earlier this year, dedicated to the great things about getting a Vita in 2023. I tried to be very careful with my words in this video. It's okay to still criticize something that you love. Nothing is perfect.
I did the opposite I had all these Odin pro's, Steamdecks, different retro handhelds (Retroid pocket 3 + etc) but I've never owned a PSP or Vita so I bought one this week, absolutely love it, in under 10mins I hacked it, huge library of undiscovered games (new to me) can play PSX, PSP, Vita. That is enough for me, the huge PSX & PSP library alone is overwhelming for me 😊 I think it's a different situation for each person. As long we're having fun that's all that matters. Great video

MrMario2011 does a good job on tutorials for the people asking. I don't have a Vita but am about to order an OLED one soon. I have a Steam Deck & Switch Lite but the Vita has peaked my interest for awhile due to the OLED models and homebrew scene bringing amazing ports, plus I just love great handhelds and always have 👍🤘
Totally with 3 and a half thousand games I don't know what to do with myself and of course Netflix I take my vita everywhere its great I have a PSP with 170 games and movies which is now collecting dust since I bought my vita 1000 and jail broke it. Its replaced my need for a phone which in itself is quite freeing and my top reason for getting the 1000 is because there's nothing like playing ps3 games on an Oled screen.
To me it is most definitely a cosmetic preference if anything now. Maybe with some convenience. The community has made it so easy to home brew. It literally took me less than 30 minutes to homebrew my vita and download all the plug-ins needed to turn it into a Vita switch essentially with its own dock using a raspberry pi. I love the design of the Vita 2000s. The handheld just feels amazing in the hands while playing. Though some people with gigantic hands would hate it.
I just purchased my second Vita, a white PS Vita 1000... last weekend (in 2023)... lol I am hoping to making it my dedicated emulation machine. This is my first device that I will modify, and am beyond excited to use it! Of course the Vita is not the latest and greatest in terms of serving as a dedicated emulator, but I am also glad to finally have a 1000 OLED model to add to my collection :)
Tbh bully and gta sandreas are android ports. gta 3 and gta vice city are pc ports with reverse engineering. But it possible to play ps2 games on the ps vita it just the game have to be reverse engineering by editing the game files or source codes
As much as i want a portable device that can play PS2, Xbox 360 & PS3 emulation device on the go. I still think is better to get the Rog Ally or a Steam Deck. I do want a PsVita. but looking at the library of games, with most official game ports having poor performance, limited emulation capabilities, and the lack of not being able to install Android OS (you can use an Android OS on a Nintendo Switch btw) is quite hard to justify the PSVita's worth. Another thing is, the lack of preferred game genre, some people love FPS games, while others like me love racing games, the PSvita library doesn't have enough variety of games that can help keep people invested. Like, some people may not like RPG games, or Sports games. Which kinda hurts the replayablility for the vita. Again i think it's better to get a much more powerful device then a Vita, which the vita will eventually end up having it's own emulation on PC, and can play ps3 games on the go.
Super Nintendo, gba, nintendo64(some), ps1, psp games and vita games for $150…. I’ll take it… if im just looking for a trip down memory lane. Without killing the bank at dk oldies 😂
The PS Vita is showing its age and it's outclassed by the Steam Deck. Main reason why I play on the PS Vita is because I don't have as much free time for video games as I used to nowadays. I just got done with my exams and I'll be catching up on my backlog later this month. Besides, there's plenty of digital titles like Super Star Wars and import titles like Virtual-On for the PS Vita library.
I got a vita for my bday 6 years ago, and I've had fun booting it up recently to mod it with Psp and ps1 but have been upset with some of its limitations, i am kinda biased since i didn't pay for it, but i also just love the feeling of a vita in my hands. Lighter than a lot of other handhelds like the switch, i wish someone just could make a vita2 with ps3 level power
Never had the pleasure of owning a psp back in the days. Then i bought one realized it felt outdated then i got a retro pocket 3 installed every psp game ever took forever played all game 2,3 times the resolution they all felt like remastered versions of the game it was great! Made me realize i should probably get a vita because if this.. i realized it wasn't what the psp was like back in the day but it was the most modern version of that experience so i bought one and already have a couple of games I'm going to play on in mind can't wait to get it!
If you like PSP and Vita games, then look no further than Vita as no other unit would play it better. And personally, no new emulator feels as good and premium as Vita 1000 series with Oled screen
The Vita library is very niche but it's still the best PSP player. Same reason I still use a 3DS, the 3DS library is very niche but it's the best way to play DS games than to emulate them on one screen.
I'm sorry but that propaganda has to stop. The RP3+ is now the best way to play PSP. 3x resolution and much cheaper new than what it would cost to buy a used Vita.
Also DS Lite remains the best way to play DS games than 3DS. The games look blurry on the 3DS and DS lite's bottom screen with screen protector has better touch response than the 3DS' bottom screen with screen protector.
@@iamCifuhold start on boot up And you can run them in the native resolution If that's too small for you there's actually a DSI screen scaling you can do through the Twilight menu That makes the games look a lot better than what Nintendo did The only reason they work blurry is because Nintendo literally just put a blur filter over the game where thanks to homebrew you can get around this now or as I say Just hold start at boot up and run them in their native resolution mode It makes the games about the same size as the DSi
The fact that you restate that you think someone should get the vita is the saving grace of this video. And also it's 2024 and the vita still lives on! And to solve your UI problem download hexflow launcher fixes everything.
nah man , i am still rocking my modded ps vita to this day , ps vita & psp games & then added retroarch for my mame games / arcade games & i am all good also grabbed a modded new 3ds xl for all nintendo good stuff & you will still be set for years to come
With how much portable emulator devices have developed, and for a very similar price range to a second hand vita, unfortunately, the Vita is reaching its end once again. The already small community will be much smaller in the future. However, I still plan on getting a vita because despite its restrictions compared to let's say the retroid pocket 3+, I want it more even knowing of its objective inferiority (besides being able to play vita games). I grew up with the PSP, and I want a way to play it with a very similar form factor, and Vita is just that, can do more than the original. I fit in such a niche that somehow, it's still the handheld console I want the most.
The PS Vita homebrew and modding community has single handedly elevated this console when Sony refused to. You can find a PS Vita in great shape for around 100-120, super easy to mod, can download Vita, PSP, and PS1 directly to the console without connecting to a PC. Tons of ports available to download to it. Memory card price is irrelevant with the SD2Vita conversion since you can get a 128GB Micro SD for like $30.

To me, this is the perfect handheld console I ever wanted but it costs just 2,000$, my father told me. And I am kinda fucked up so I chose Xbox 360 which is cheap.
Nice video. I seem to play my 3DS a bit more than my Vita. I also think some games for the Vita are 'must play', but just once. I find myself emulating most of my retro games on my 3DS, while just using my vita for certain games like Hotline Miami 1&2. I still love my Vita, but I think it had its run. Now we are looking forward to a hacked Switch and its capabilities.
The PS Vita is one of the best Handhelds ever made! However I must admit my PS Vita's are all sitting in their cases thanks to my collection of Retro Handhelds.
I disagree with you , Psvita life wasn’t with Sony Psvita life really starts now with the hombrew they solved every problem Sony don’t own Psvita actually hombrew community who owns it
I bought a PS Vita to play the uncharted game that's stuck on it and then never found another good game. The game library is just too thin for normal games. But if you wanna play like 30 mad decent JRPGs it's a poppin system.
Also the PS Vita doesn't emulate PSP or PS2 games it play's them Natively. Also the PS Vita has a VERY small PS2 library of about 10+ if not 21 games if I remember correctly.
I have a vita to play vita, psp, some ps2 and retro games. .and i have a phone to emulate ps2, psp, gamecube, etc. This is a perfect tandem for me as much as I want a steamdeck or ally or switch, it's too big for me to carry around.
It’s OK to criticise PS Vita, but you are still mistaken. If you want a modern UI, use a PS5 like most of us. Low storage space? speak for yourself and install/buy more. Emulation? is one of the best. PS2 emulation, it’s not even need it. PS Vita had ports, or even their own versions of PS2 and PS3 games. So yes, it is okay to criticise PS Vita, but you are still mistaken
Nintendo handheld consoles and games are just way better for me. Infinite fun with Pokémon, THLOZ, Fire emblem, etc. I got bored pretty fast with the vita
I think this is a wonderful amazing Playstation Vita system will be great in the next 50 plus years people will still be buying this treasure masterpiece for years to come and Maybe Sony will soon realize how truly the handheld system was and still is theres gotta be a chance for psp2 or Vita2 in the near future and so what if phones have games that can be playable on iPhones and Androids but Sony has made something magical.. die hard fan of the Vita 👍🤙
I’ll prob sell my vita once the vita emulator is perfected on other handhelds bc then there no reason at all to have one. But for now I’m keeping it, bc it still runs amazing
Interesting video, I actually have a ps vita slim 2000 model open box that I only used one time, didn’t even open the charging cable up just got the wrong color and now stick to it lol. Even bought an expensive grip and case for it and other goodies.
I bought a modded vita 2000 and then had my white 1000 vita modded. I love my modded vitas but I totally agree with you on this. Vita is a GREAT handheld but it’s not the end all he all of handheld/modded consoles. I was hoping I’d be able to play ps2, GameCube, and other games and although yes I can play the gta trilogies on there I can’t play WWF No Mercy and I doubt I can get MGS Twin Snakes but that made me realize maybe I need to get a modded wii or modded ps3 but either way I think this is a great video because it may be perfect for some but I don’t think it would be perfect for all
Honestly if you wanna emulate stronger consoles go with a steam deck. (Which can go up to switch games) But the vita has amazing fan ports and you actually want to play your retro games on the vita
Great video, i was thinking about buying a ps vita but this video helped me to decide not to. I have a psp 3000 with a huge library of games and umd video's. Im happy with it. Thanks again for the content.👍🤙
I've never owned a vita. Only a 3ds (which I am currently getting back into). I really don't know if I should. I haven't really seen anything interesting game wise that I can't play in some other form elsewhere (both legit and not so legit) I really love the vita design though. But the 3ds form factor is still unique to have in your hands. (Unless you emulate on a folding phone ig)
@@htsunmiku well, there’s games like uncharted, risk of rain, fez, minecraft, lots of emulators, gta, every psp, ps1, and some ps2 games, my favourite out of all pf them being initial d street stage. there are also lots of ports. the 3ds is so unconventional now and so overpriced. if i want to play 3ds games, id just get a regular 2ds. much cheaper.
@@htsunmiku in terms lf games you cant play anywhere else, there isnt many, but there are ports exclusively made for the vita and the main vita library with some killer games like persona 4 golden and little big planet vita. im picking up a listing for $150 AUD in almost perfect condition, when the vita goes for about $220 AUD with massive scratches on the back.
He's right. Got mine today and I'm disappointed. It's partly because it arrived more beat up than i thought it would be. But it also just doesn't run games nearly as well as i thought too. Had it jail broken in 10 mins, and I love the design, but it's not enough. I'm going to return it and most likely get a rp3+, or just wait until my birthday and get a steam deck
I'm happy with it for what it is. I have thousands of 80s and 90s games and impressed with things like gta San Andres but when you get into ports from the 2010s it chugs. I'm playing Nintendo games and classic PC DOS games on it mostly. I'm also looking forward to exploring the psp and vita library. But things like the xcom enemy unknown port aren't worth it to me. Those load times suck. But retro gaming and Sony portable stuff it's perfect. With plugins you can apparently hook up multiple controllers to it and even output the video via the USB to a computer. Damn cool feature.
@@harvyt257 i let it set in and i do very much like it now lol. I like alot of the unique vita games. And have been enjoying connecting it to my ps4 while at friends houses. I also got a screen protector when buying grips for it, which help hide the scratches on the screen. In reality i was expecting something more than it is. But i really do love it now
@Kirado Mochi I've hardly set it down since I got it out and modded it. Go at least 512gb for the SD card. It was 60 dollars more for a 1tb and it wasnt clear it would. I also grabbed one of those top player trigger grip things and it's good but I wouldn't take the vita in and out regularly and don't drop it. Mods, ports, roms, homebrews, and an extensive direct to device downloadable library of backups. You can't beat it. I bought this thing used in like 2013 and hardly touched it since 2016. Now I can't set it down.

He's trying to stop you guys from purchasing PEAK!!!!!
Yeah, we shouldn't get it because it can't emulate a ps5 🙄
I think this is a wonderful amazing Playstation Vita system will be great in the next 50 plus years people will still be buying this treasure masterpiece for years to come and Maybe Sony will soon realize how truly the handheld system was and still is theres gotta be a chance for psp2 or Vita2 in the near future and so what if phones have games that can be playable on iPhones and Androids but Sony has made something magical.. die hard fan of the Vita 👍🤙
I don't think people will buy it in 50 years when the price point would be too high due to collecting
I’ll prob sell my vita once the vita emulator is perfected on other handhelds bc then there no reason at all to have one. But for now I’m keeping it, bc it still runs amazing
How much I’ll buy
I buy now
Sell me it now
Interesting video, I actually have a ps vita slim 2000 model open box that I only used one time, didn’t even open the charging cable up just got the wrong color and now stick to it lol. Even bought an expensive grip and case for it and other goodies.
Im about to buy one in 2024 lol
Hello i need your help
(Which can go up to switch games)
But the vita has amazing fan ports and you actually want to play your retro games on the vita
Great video, i was thinking about buying a ps vita but this video helped me to decide not to. I have a psp 3000 with a huge library of games and umd video's. Im happy with it. Thanks again for the content.👍🤙
Back when there weren't as many options... but now... I agree with you. 👍👍
Lmao😂😂😂 all this from a guy that was born after the Nintendo first launched lol
I’m deff again
Bro lemme know if you'd send it to me 😊
Please give me yours
I cant afford it.
❤️ Thank you
I've never owned a vita. Only a 3ds (which I am currently getting back into). I really don't know if I should.
I haven't really seen anything interesting game wise that I can't play in some other form elsewhere (both legit and not so legit)
I really love the vita design though. But the 3ds form factor is still unique to have in your hands. (Unless you emulate on a folding phone ig)
i used to have a ds, but i cant fuckin find a single listing for a 3ds with a reasonable price, so vita it is.
@@joogled1839 so you have any game recommendations for vita ? Something that I can only experience on vita.
@@joogled1839you should get a Ps vita and jailbreak it there a lot of interesting ports
I’m getting because I have every devices
@@harvyt257 i let it set in and i do very much like it now lol. I like alot of the unique vita games. And have been enjoying connecting it to my ps4 while at friends houses. I also got a screen protector when buying grips for it, which help hide the scratches on the screen. In reality i was expecting something more than it is. But i really do love it now
I'm so excited to get mine
@Kirado Mochi I've hardly set it down since I got it out and modded it. Go at least 512gb for the SD card. It was 60 dollars more for a 1tb and it wasnt clear it would. I also grabbed one of those top player trigger grip things and it's good but I wouldn't take the vita in and out regularly and don't drop it.
Mods, ports, roms, homebrews, and an extensive direct to device downloadable library of backups. You can't beat it. I bought this thing used in like 2013 and hardly touched it since 2016. Now I can't set it down.
Bro i want it pls😢
Some sony matrix nerds mustve hired this guy
Can it play fornite
pointless video
Yes, Dont buy but if u have it already… stick to it for another 10 yrs … its a great machine after jailbreaking and if you own ps4 also then Ps Vita remote playing is cherry on top😊
womp womp
Up until now, I thought specs helped you understand things. You understand nothing about this topic despite knowing all the specs🤦
Yet he has one… Yet he’s a spoiled brat.. Yet I have one and it plays PS 1 and Stream PC… You just clout without research..
1st time in your channel and last one 😊
Bro just speaking facts that aren't negative or positive just facts
