The levels from Sonic & Knuckles (which is more or less the same game but well) have the best level design, with no question: Flying Battery, Lava Reef, Death Egg, Doomsday zone... and even Sandopolis.
Ice Cap and Hydrocity from S3 were cool though.
Well S3&K for the win anyway, was supposed to be the same game.

for me sonic 2 will always be my best sonic game becoming super sonic for the first time !!! but i have to say sonic 3 and knuckles cartridge is awesome

Great video man. Fell in love with Sonic as a kid, still play these classics and to this day haven't touched a Sonic game made after the 3D one in your vid. Did a S3&K playthrough today actually, that's what inspired me to RUclips Sonic vids. Can get all the super emeralds without saving, it's my favorite game. Cheers mate

Sonic 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. Had no problem beating the rest of the game up until sky fortress as a kid, and that final couple of stages felt like a serious accomplishment. Add in two back to back, tough (until you knew their pattern) bosses, and you had a very young me getting a game over time and time again. Got to the point eventually that metal sonic was easy before I had ever beaten Robotnik.
Me too, man. Me too. I didn't know how to beat the Wing Fortress boss for so long, I had no idea. Then one day, I said "FUCK IT" and went to commit suicide (in game, obvs) by jumping into the laser a BOOM, I hit him! I was so stoked! And I thought that was the last level. Suddenly, Metal Sonic! He was tough enough, but the Death Egg Bot or whatever had me stuck for about a year. I didn't know you could hit him from the front, so I always hit him from behind which is MUCH harder, as you have to time the jump perfectly or his flame kills you.
When I first beat it, I was just messing around, trying to memorize the pattern. I got to about 8 minutes, and figured I might as well TRY beat him, so I started getting a few hits and suddenly, I won! I literally SCREAMED, and my Mum ran in to see what was wrong, and she saw the ending and she was almost as stoked as I was after seeing me try time and time again, and cry more than once over a Game Over haha. Sonic 2 was my first video game, in 1993. Ah, memories.

I beaten Sonic Spinball, its not bad...... but it will make you never blibk, sweat and so focused that you wont breath till its over. I am AWWed to see that you beat all these Sonic games, Kakorot. :D
Crazy enough, I was able to beat Sonic 2's ending battle (mecha and robotnic) faster than Sonic 3's ending battle (robotnic 3 times).
The Doc always seems to leave a massive vulnerable spot on his devices. I remember having a story called Sonic in the 4th Dimension where Robotnik invents a dimensional gate and enters a pararell universe, steals a time machine and starts changing the past of Mobius. Sonic and Tails manage to find him and his latest flying death machine. Sonic jumps at it and gets electrocuted. Robotnik then claimed to have learnt from their previous encounters and that all it took was a simple low voltage charge on the hull of his ship to stop Sonic.
But then Sonic got an electric shield and....

I my opinion , I think that sonic 3 boss fight was the best because of the background music and Dr. Robotnik's robot!!!!
i've watched it all ;), it's my pleasure.
I remamber on Sega mega drive after playing and leaving my console on for 1 day i reached all the way to the end I lost on this level and had to start from all over again. No memory card in those days.

Lol yeah I know. But it was difficult to find cheat codes in those days becouse of less resources such as the Internet was not well established like today. All we could do was to rely on books. And trust me books were expensive aswell.

The final boss from S1 is considered very easy, even as a kid i could do it easily while that robot from Sonic 2 was really a pain, not the mention the one from Sonic 3 which is almost too hard (and not impressive at all...). The most epic are still the final boss fights from S&K I agree, their only problem is how easy they are.

Indeed the 2 "mecha Sonic" from sonic 2 & 3 are the most hard of all.
In sonic 2 was hard because no rings and kinda unpredictable.
In sonic 3, as Super mecha sonic vs knuckles is kinda hard if you dont force him on the corner because his unpredictables dashes and spins if you dont see him,which can be seen on the video.
Doomsday zone was probably the best end of sonic, the only missing boss if from Sonic 3d blast, the panic puppet zone 3 were robotnic have and "strong" robot which you must hit on some lights, and is the final boss of S3D blast, while final fight is the true ending with the 7 chaos emeralds
+Dark Helel Actually, there is literally NO randomness to Silver Sonic.
I mean, in some cases he could just have success with his hitbox, as you may hit him, but the hitbox make you to hit his saw-spines in cases you werent supposed to do it, thats why I called it "unpredictable"(also happened in a few cases with S2 last boss), but yeah, both final bosses got an obvious move pattern.
