I worked for Arby's for a short while. We had a scale next to the roast beef slicer, and we weighed the amount that went onto every sandwich. If we had a high food cost, we would "fix" the scale so that we'd put less roast beef on sandwiches. That always bothered me, and I never did it. People are paying too much for too little as it is. That never sat right with me, and it was one of the many reasons I quit working there.
I can remember being around 3 years old and my mom telling me to be careful not to get scalded by the hot coffee on the stove. She told of a cousin who had been scalded and had been scarred. Putting hot coffee or even iced between my legs has never crossed my mind. BTW, that story my mom told me happened circa 1951-52.
I heard about the finger in the chilli as a kid around 20 years ago and I’ve hated Wendy’s ever since, only recently heard this story about the situation. I can’t be the only one who boycotted them for 20 years lol. That company seriously missed the mark on making sure the real story got out.
Why do I get the feeling the same people disgusted by day old hamburger meat being used in chili are the same people screaming "online" about people going hungry and food costing too much?
You left out when Macdonalds served kangaroo meat imported from Australia back in the 70's . At the time , Macdonalds was using the slogan-- TWO ALL BEEF PATTIES , SPECIAL SAUCE , LETTUCE , CHEESE , PICKLES , ONIONS ON A SESAME SEED BUN ( to describe the Big Mac ) This slogan was used extensively for months .Macdonalds even having contests for who could recite this slogan the fastest . When it was discovered that kangaroo meat was being mixed in with the beef , it caused quite a stir . However , instead of dropping their very successful jingle , Macdonalds simply changed the words to -- two all MEAT patties , special sauce etc etc , to avoid any false advertising lawsuits . YUM ! There were some legal issues regarding bull meat from Australia that had kangaroo meat in there as well. I'm not sure why that was a huge deal but the fda was not a fan of it.
I used to work at Arby's, everything were I worked was on the up and up, nothing gross, or any kind of probs at least were I worked, I still love to eat there
Weird, I worked at Arby's in 2004-05 and we had a manager chop a huge chunk of her finger off cutting tomatoes on the slicer. She screamed for two minutes as we tried to calm her down and get it wrapped up, she suddenly came to a full stop and calmly said, "We need to throw those tomatoes away." She got written up for that.
It's not a theory on old meat to make chili. When meat expires on when it can be served as burgers, they put it all in containers, at the end of the night they chop it up to make the chilli for the next day. I worked there in my very early 20's and as far as I know 80% of all Wendy's still do this. Some use fresh meat though. It's still good but you can taste the difference in fresh.
I'm a bit surprised that McDonald's using ammonium hydroxide in their food didn't top the list. Yes, they used small amounts of this poisonous chemical to treat their nuggets (which frequently contained chicken blood and marrow due to how it was processed). However, they started using meat that is edible without adding poison in 2012.
They're exaggerating the Wendy's chili meat quite a bit.. Yes, it's made from old burger patties, but not from "day old hamburger that were left to dry out under a heat lamp".. Basically, once a burger has surpassed it's hold time on the grill (~5-8 minutes), the patties get transferred to heated storage bins (kept at 170+ degrees), which also have a hold time (I believe 1 or 2 hours?), after which the patties get rinsed off with water, then put into bags and are frozen. When it comes time to make the chili the next morning, the frozen patties are put in a pot and are boiled for ~1 hour, afterwards they strain the water/grease, then proceed to chop the patties up into
no no. no no. no no no no no no. as a former Wendy's employee, i promise the meat is NOT a day old. It meat that got burnt on the flat top before it was sold. Even if it's not sold by the end of the day, it gets tossed out. Chilimeat is made the same day. I did it myself and i understand that it doesn't make it any better. but i hope it does for those who like burnt meat.
Where I worked, we'd grind it up like normal, then freeze it if it wasn't going to be used that day. Every Wendy's has a walk in-refrigerator and a walk-in freezer. I can't believe idiots don't know this and assume places are just leaving stuff out all day.
There's literally nothing wrong with using day old patties as long as they are properly stored and re-cooked, which they are. People are so damn wasteful.
I once ago a Filet-O-FIsh sandwich from a McDonalds that was full of fishbones. I can't remember how old I was, but I was still a kid at the time. I probably would have taken it back inside and complained about it, but the restaurant was VERY busy, (it was lunchtime on a Saturday during the Christmas shopping season), I was hungry, and I didn't want the hassle. So, I just ate the sandwich. By the time I was finished I had a pretty big pile of fish bones left over. I have had plenty of File-O-Fishes since then and have never found a single bone in any of them. It seems that it was just this one filet that managed to slip through.
LOL, I got a filet of fish once with a whole worm in it. Put me off for years. I don't get the now because it was $18.46 cents for 2 fish, small fry and a medium fountain pop.
I worked at KFC. They reuse the flour coating. Just sift the lumps of raw chicken juice clumps out at night. Raw chicken has gone in it for days. Chicken is marinated fast in tumblers then sits for up to 2 weeks in the fridge raw. Gravy is made by draining the deep fryer and scooping the crud that falls off in the frying. Freezing it then adding water and a spice/thickening powder. Deep fryers are to be drained twice a day & cleaned but are rarely cleaned. When drained the grease is put in a machine with powder chemicals to clean the grease then the grease is put back in the deep fryer. Raw chicken juice built up for years on all the equipment and fridge walls. I'll never ever eat there
@Fernando Gallardo This is so true Bananas are one of the most popular fruits in the world. They're full important nutrients, but eating too many could end up doing more harm than good. Too much of any single food may contribute to weight gain and nutrient deficiencies. One to two bananas per day is considered a moderate intake for most healthy people.😉
McDonald’s coffee is incredibly bitter. I could never call it coffee. You never boil the water. It causes the beans to burn making the coffee taste bitter. McDonald’s is famous for this.

@Michael Terrell The alternative used at many other places is that that those old patties would be put into the freezer to be used as hamburger meat some other day.

When I reached "Beef Burgers Made of Horse," I had to click out of the video. Horses have served mankind for centuries, and I couldn't bear to watch the segment.
A tea kettle whistles at 212 degrees. Manufacturers should not be allowed to make them anymore because it's too hot. Furthermore, stoves/ovens/microwaves should not be made and sold if they reach 190 degrees. FIRE, altogether, should be outlawed due to being too hot...causing foods and drinks to be too hot to consume. Imagine how your pots and pans must feel every time you use them. Where's the justice for the pots and pans??
The problem is at home you are pouring water from the kettle into a cup and leaving it a few minutes for the tea to steep, during which it cools back down, where as the mcdonalds coffee is going directly into a flimsy Styrofoam cup and straight into the hands of a customer. This is especially risky at a drive through window where the drink is more likely to get spilled than in store.
@@ANPC-pi9vu Nope, I drink my tea hot. With no lid, no doubt!! It's called HOT tea and HOT coffee for a reason and any idiot that doesn't understand what the word HOT means deserves to get burned. I once heard a Judge state "Ignorance is no excuse." and I believe that applies to this in every sense possible.
That's a damn shame, a damn McShame! And what about all the nasty assholes taking baths in restaurant kitchen sinks? We need the elderly woman back who asked "WHERE'S THE BEEF?!".
I've always wondered what is really in the so called meat in frozen tv dinners or in canned foods. No way are canned food and frozen entrees using top of the line grade a meat
Read the labels. Some do list soy and other plant proteins as additives. Other than that a lot of it is salvaged trimmings and low grade cuts from low grade cattle. There's parts of the cow that have muscle tissue but don't make nice cuts for steaks and roasts so are used in things like sausage, soup meat, pre-packaged ground beef, and pet foods.
Arby's roast beef is actually a paste made to look like roast beef slices. That's why it's cheap. I know Wendy's has had Ecoli breakouts here. Eat at home. Healthy meals you cook. I'm going to puke now
I found a chicken brain in a bag of frozen Tyson's chicken one time. I didn't sue them. I threw out the whole bag. I'll never buy that shit again. I'm sure it was an accidental oops on the part of the QC department, but I haven't bought Tyson's chicken since then, and it was like 20 years ago, maybe more. I won't go to the Pho joint anymore, I got a bad case of belly bloat from there. I won't go to Five Guys because they don't have seedless buns, and because the quality of their food went downhill while their prices went up. I guess they became _corporate._ Arbys sucks. Their "beef" is a pressed loaf. Roy Rogers uses an actual beef roast, and theirs is always pink and juicy. Roy Rogers beef is real beef, it isn't Trigger.
I live in Arkansas where there are several Tyson processing plants. Their most recent run-in with the health department a few years ago was due to mice running around everywhere in the plant. A worker called in an anonomyus tip. They were told to shut down and get rid of the mice.
I dunno if its a race thing for dennys, its just a dennys thing. You go there when youre so stoned or wasted you dont notice youre eating a pile of crap

I watched a crime show and the guy was sentenced to just 8 years for murder (he got it reduced from first degree to second degree manslaughter for getting in a quarrel with his girlfriend)

@@Iamyodaddy_they need to step up or they will be closing down. One of their biggest franchise owners just went bankrupt on 90 stores on the East Coast I’m pretty sure he got the PPE loans and kept all the money. I enjoy their burgers more than the clowns but they’re not competing like they should
That's why the mighty wing is never around. They made her a offer she couldn't refuse...
Oh I am familiar with the chicken head scandal. I first heard about it I thought it was real but it turns out to be false and a scam. This had lead to many Urban Legend stories from it.
Yeah, I hate it too when I get a chicken nugget in my order of fried chicken heads.
The fact that Taco Bells meat is still 12% "not meat" is not comforting. But I still love it 🌮👀
@Kris Frederick as long as I like it, I like taco's no matter what😄
When I was 10 I bit in to a blood filled pocket of a chicken nugget at a McDonald’s, this was in 1995. I refused to eat McDonald’s chicken nuggets for a little over 20 years. It took me having a child to eat a chicken nugget from them again
I remember seeing that finger in the chili story on the news as a school girl
Per the 2015 Harvard study, If you eat fast food such as the brands in the video you consciously do not care what goes into your body - and will accept the jab as a normal course of life.
I remember when Arby's has those Ham and cheddar sandwiches called jalapeno melts and I'd order $20 at $1.00 each and smash half before I got home and saved the rest for later
Dang arbys had a dollar sandwich?
@@oldironsides4107 not now they don't.. I'm talking about Early 90's
Prices were different back then.. back then u could spend 20 at any grocery store and walk out feeling like u did something..
Today u spend 20 u got that one bag and with few items in it🤣
Indont think they ever had those in my area.
Yeah it’s rough.
When I was in highschool I could get a pack of Marlboro reds 2 magnum 40s and a whopper jr. For $5.
@@oldironsides4107 oh damn. That was back when u had to be 18 to buy beer.. you're lucky, when u were in HS u got to see nothing but classic cars.. well they were new back then but u know what I mean.. I would've loved to see a parking lot full of nothing but Old cars..
But about Arby's, we had One in Victorville since early 90's.. I remember when they first opened too.
That was the go to spot
Also Subway's Tuna not being real Tuna.
@syxodude91 that's true, I tasted that too, it's not like real tuna😂
In what state were the secret service members denied? Hope somebody answers this for me
@Klein E. Cali and miami bro🔥
That is absolutely DISGUSTING! Treating people like that because of their color! Miami I'd expect, but Californey??
Ooo human flesh and fresh human body parts yum yum! My favorite!!
Almost all commercial coffee brewers are set to 195-205 degrees for brewing. So be careful.
Wendy’s chilli tastes awesome stop 🛑 hatin. & we miss you Dave rest in paradise ❤
I'm not surprised at all
@CWL Why do you have a bad experince on these????😂
@@BabbleTop the only place I had a bad experience at is burger king, as crazy as this world is nothing surprises me any more.
I love Arby’s please don’t ruin it. Nooooo not skin in my Sammie’s
All ground meat is Mystery Meat !
Is that Wendy Malick narrating these things? Sure sounds like her 🙂
Yuk !
In the frozen it is usually soy.
@@lorie4913 I had wondered that. Thanks
Never liked their chili. I use to have to add hot sauce to mask the taste.thats been over 30+ yrs. Ago.
Arby's roast beef is actually a paste made to look like roast beef slices. That's why it's cheap. I know Wendy's has had Ecoli breakouts here. Eat at home. Healthy meals you cook. I'm going to puke now
We have the meats
@Super Koopa You know i love any kind of meat😄
Sometimes you would like to think your safer having peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at home 🏡 LoL 🤣 but we All like to go out to eat And enjoy
The horse in the burgers is old news its from the uk and Ireland how do i know because i live here 🤣
Canada too.
@@raymartin3527 no way i didn't know that
How many watchMojo's type youtube channels are there? Do a top 10 on that
Yep, not going back to any fast food ever again.
Until tomorrow lol
I say eat that chicken head😅
My last McD’s Double QP w/Cheese had a mostly uncooked patty and being tipsy at the time I didn’t realize until 3 bites in, 🤮 My healthier choice now is just to have their coffee
I stopped eating at these garbage places for the most part. I can live on sandwiches made at home.

Subway's "bread" isn't real bread. It has plastic in it. Look it up.
Funny how trying to defraud a corporation comes with a heavier sentence than most sex offenses
I watched a crime show and the guy was sentenced to just 8 years for murder (he got it reduced from first degree to second degree manslaughter for getting in a quarrel with his girlfriend)
