I tore my ACL 6 months ago, and just had my surgery 3 months ago. Went from working out 4-5x a week, a lot cardio and heavy lifting. It was super depressing when I couldn’t workout as I used to, but my friend made me aware of the benefits of swimming. I’m so excited to try these workouts tonight, thank you!

your welcome... I gained a lot of weight after my ACL tear, I also was afraid of getting back to being active because of the pain and issues I had ... I am over it now and losing my weight I gained, I gained 120 pounds total I went from 200 to 320, I am now 295

I'm on my 6th week post OP, just started doing pool excercises. I find it great because it helps me relieve stress by making me feel relaxed after or idk why. After my cardio on the stationary bicycle it just feels amazing to do pool therapy.
But at the moment I cannot do what you're doing with the high butt kicks since I can't bend my leg backwards yet. And don't want to tread water or swim just yet

I dont blame you, I wouldn't be doing that yet... 6th week I would say to try and get full range of motion back by doing the lay down knee bends and if your therapist says its ok to stand against the wall and try and lift your heel to your butt or as high as you can. That way you can build that muscle back with no external forces except gravity

You should add "knee" to your title. I found using ACL. Awesome video.

Hi Allen, thank you for video, is it good to start on week 5 after acl and meniscus surgery all that exercises?

as long as the incisions are healed you could start with some of the easier ones like walking in the pool ... dont start off going hard, start easy to ease your way into it

thank you for this video, actually i had an torn acl and mcl 6 months ago. i'm swimming in the pool with my legs, it feels better the other day but somehow i can't feel the improvement so well. and i actually work 9-5 so i can go to the pool 3 times a week. i will try these exercises, how often should i do them?

it takes a while to feel improvement ... for me I just woke up one day and said "oh I have been able to do that thing for a while and at first I couldn't" ... for the exercises do them as much as you can just not in back to back days

@@bballcoachallen thanks a lot, you're giving me hope and it means a lot for me. And how long did it take to get back on the basketball courts for you? I really missed playing

it took a very long time to get over the phycological barrier ... physically would have taken about 2 years due to getting a blood clot after my first surgery
