Thank you! I just came across your channel and it is exactly what I am looking for. I am 34 yrs old and never travelled alone so I have some fears about it but I want to push through because I have been dreaming about it since I was 25 yrs old. I am finally at that place where I can do it.

There are many things to do: cities to explore, hikes to go on, and cultural things to experience. I travelled trough the country and had the best time! It’s just a bit overlooked I think between the other countries around it ! Also obviously Australia. It’s easy and so open and available for backpackers. Had my best first backpacking trip there :)
My lady and I traveled several hundred thousand mines in the US and Canada. We started with a road trip to Alaska in 1969. She was my fearless codriver and navigator for 50+ years until she passed a year and a half ago of brain cancer (grim). Now I have recovered enough to start traveling again. A long time ago and far, far away we visited Iceland. Still remember the places we experienced like standing 5 feet away from Stoker when it erupted. Great Choice. This Winter I will stay in New England but plan on a trip to the South in April. It will be different having only Matilda, my Garmin navigator, as company. In late Summer and Fall I plan on visiting the Canadian Maritimes including Newfoundland. That should be interesting.

My first solo trip was to Croatia for a month. Followed by a week in Rome and then I hiked the Way of Saint James. I'm in my 50's and like staying in hostels. Not just because of the price, but also meeting so many people. Travelling with other solo travelers is great because you can always part ways and meet up later. For me it's not just the destination but the path! I love not sticking to a concrete schedule. Spontaneity is awesome! And I must add that you are a lovely young lady!
You still got 9 countries on me but soon I'll start working on catching up. You have all great choices above. Iceland, New Zealand, Ecuador, Peru and Botswana are all on my go to list (been to the others). Iceland is high on my list to do this year (combined with Norway, Ireland and Portugal).
I loved travelling solo in Scotland. So much beauty and diversity in landscape, and super easy to get around. I used a local tour company called Rabbi Tours. Very affordable with many different choices of itineraries.
Just got back from Iceland. While I did not travel solo, I encountered individuals who were going solo and just experiencing pure joy at the wondrous landscape. It's also a great time to go as it's almost high season + post pandemic and you can also catch some lava flows at the volcano. Great list!
Congratulations on your travels!!!!! I have been to 53 countries and currently live in Kuwait which is an extremely safe country but the COL is high. I also love Thailand and Philippines and look forward to seeing Cambodia and Laos

I wish there was a channel like yours for people who are say, over 50 or 60. I love traveling. And I have gone by myself. Last time was 1999, I was in my 40s, and I went by train from Paris to Weisbaden, then train to London and then to the Isle of Wight. Now I'm 68 and I'm really wanting to travel.
I’ve just discovered your channel🤩. I‘ve been to Iceland, one of the most beautiful countries BUT it‘s so expensive (I am Swiss!)!! I‘ve done a couple of countries by myself and I enjoyed more and more. Now I‘m doing travel with my son as well. It‘s different but also amazing. Australia was awesome! Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, France, Holland, Thailand, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are very easy to travel. Even Dubai is pretty easy.
I highly recommend Botswana. Sunway Safaris does really affordable small group camping trips where you pitch in with setting up tents and preparing meals if you want to safari with others ( which I would recommend). They use local guides.
For a first timer I suggest places like Malta and Cyprus. Very safe, not to expensive and no language problems. lots to see and do and the locals are very helpful.
My first country I went alone to was Ireland. Wonderful country and super friendly people. I can highly recommend doing a round trip in Ireland. There is a lot of nature to see. My second alone trip was to the USA. I was a little frightened cause I’m from Berlin, Germany and it’s literally on the other side of the world. :) I enjoyed it but it’s so different from Germany. I’m glad you enjoyed living here in Berlin!
@@dmp1520 If you speak about the USA, well, transports were a surprise. I waited like half an hour for a bus in Nashville. I didn't see any cyclists. So, you actually have to take your car to get anywhere. Then there are the ACs just being everywhere and even running in winter. We don't have that here. I did like the diners though and enjoyed having breakfast there. I was also surprised to find a veggie fast food restaurant :) . People were nice and interested in where I come from.
@@janeeightfive7331 quite so, yes i meant the usa, your response mirrors that of many people, they often comment on lack of cyclism, need to use the car everywhere... you would think at least the public transports were advanced and modern and accessible. lol really acs running all the time? how strange! and what a waste! diners are fun and delicious apparently going back to the seinfeld 90's days and even 50s. im not surprised about the veggie fast food availability sounds like the sort of consumer need a corporation would fullfill. all right all right so were curious and nice and cool and interested in you. i hear from others who visited about the overweightness and also about some obnoxiousness and rudeness and how loud they can be even in the streets... did you get that feeling? of a certain lack of manners , too loud speaking and a certain obnoxiousness or not at all?
I am trying to find how to travel solo as a senior, came across your video. And it's funny you recommend two countries I am from, Thailand and Canada. Thank you for your recommendation.

I am so grateful for your shares and fantastic recommendations. That's incredible how many places you already visited❤ I am building my currage and source to travel for few months around the World 🌎❤😊
Definitely missing AUSTRALIA ! One of the best countries to travel alone, it's one of the safest country in the world and so easy to meet travelers. And the beauty of this country, the people, the wildlife, everything is so amazing !!
@@FloraVignon I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. It is a special & unique country...but not sure it's the best to travel alone in. It's expensive & as you know the distances between places are large. Having said that, I'm still grateful to be an Aussie 😊
@@zoe9632 Sure but with 2 or 3 years allowed on a WHV, you have plenty of time to work and save lots of money to then travel all around :). I went there alone when I was 20 (I'm 27) and enjoyed myself for 6 months on my own before meeting my ex boyfriend. It's expensive but because the pay wages are high (at least way higher than France), and the backpacker lifestyle is cheap, it's really doable. With my ex, we were working for 2-3 months with crazy hours in packing sheds in small towns and so saving lots of money because we were sleeping in our van for free or really cheap on the owner's properties, and then we could travel for up to 6 months or more :).
I never expected Canada to be your top pick but so excited it is! 😃. I’m Canadian and from Edm AB where we have the most stunning Rockies that I see you visited! If you haven’t been to Waterton national park you should visit there too as it’s stunning! I’m so glad you love this country 🥰. In terms of solo travel I would add Croatia to your list. I did my first solo trip there last fall and it checks all the boxes-gorgeous, great weather, plenty of excursions, super safe and absolutely wonderful people!
Love your videos! As a Canadian I must say,you know your a positive and adventurous person when you go to Manitoba IN THE WINTERTIME and still love Canada🤣🤣Also as a solo single mama traveller with a 2 month old,any thoughts on how Botswana would be as it made your list?😊
Aw thanks! I think you can take a kid almost anywhere it just depends on how comfortable you are with, say, lap holding in a car instead of a car seat (very common there) or not having seatbelts (also common) or potentially having breakdowns (happens all the time). If you can roll with it then go for it - local women do it all the time - but if it would stress you out with a little one then maybe pick a different spot.
I just found your channel while surfing RUclips since I am planning my first solo trip in 40 years. (I did Hawaii when I was 19). I am going to Taiwan (once it opens up again) and I was surprised you didn't include it in your list as it is considered very safe.

6 continents here too. I've been to Japan, Peru, Ecuador, and Canada(PEI), and are all good choices. Kilimanjaro is a challenging, moderately safe hike, and I really liked Australia.

Great list. Couldn’t agree more
Falling in love the way u narrate with composure
aww thank you!
Great video, helps us less experience travelers planning ahead cheers
I am trying to find how to travel solo as a senior, came across your video. And it's funny you recommend two countries I am from, Thailand and Canada. Thank you for your recommendation.
Nice video and interested. Keep going🎉
You are amazing person..i wish I could meet you somewhere someday ❤
Greetings from Amsterdam🇳🇱. I’m actually a local motor tour guide for (solo) travelers, for a new sightseeing experience🏍️📸
I have visited the Galapagos islands not too long ago, and it was a magical experience...
Great video. I travel alone so I know how you feel. I could definitely give you some more pointers for your videos...but it would be a different perspective haha
Great list. Thank you!
Nice, beautiful and quality vlog!
Thank you
I am so grateful for your shares and fantastic recommendations. That's incredible how many places you already visited❤
I am building my currage and source to travel for few months around the World 🌎❤😊
You are so welcome! You got this!
Bali, Greece, Prague should be on this list..Bali is as safe as it gets!
im actually so happy you put Canada and Japan on the list :D just because I'm Japanese Canadian
65 countries under 35 years old wow thats amazing you must be very blessed.
Definitely missing AUSTRALIA ! One of the best countries to travel alone, it's one of the safest country in the world and so easy to meet travelers. And the beauty of this country, the people, the wildlife, everything is so amazing !!
Are you Aussie?
@@zoe9632 No I'm french but I traveled and worked for 2 years in Australia and it was clearly the best 2 years of my life ! :)
Hawaii! Feels like a different country, but still safe.
This vid is worthy of 1 million plus views!
Thumbs up to Germany and USA! Done both and would go back I will continue to explore
I loved Canada! Can't wait to explore more. Never been to Croatia, would love to.
I'd add Greece. It's very safe and friendly, also interesting in many ways
Great content, very useful. Thanks for sharing your knowledge I'm glad i found your channel
Thanks for the information, I would hope to visit some of those places. I’ve only been to Canada for walleye fishing that is, loved it.
If you can roll with it then go for it - local women do it all the time - but if it would stress you out with a little one then maybe pick a different spot.
cool video, I wish I was as an adventurous traveler as you are. really enjoyed the video tho!
Thank you for the positive feedback on African countries.
I just found your channel while surfing RUclips since I am planning my first solo trip in 40 years. (I did Hawaii when I was 19). I am going to Taiwan (once it opens up again) and I was surprised you didn't include it in your list as it is considered very safe.
I actually lived in Taiwan for about a year and I love it there! There are many countries that could be on this list
I’m about to do Hawaii solo in the summer I’m 21. Do you have any tips?
Kauai is pretty but very slow ..Depends on what you want to do .Oahu has all the things you would want in a big city excursion.
@@barryirvin2417did you use to live there
have just found out about your channel and I'm enjoying the content a lot. Definetly one of the best youtubers i have ever watched. You got a new subscriber Can't wait to see a video about Brazil.
Thank you so much for your kind words!!
6 continents here too. I've been to Japan, Peru, Ecuador, and Canada(PEI), and are all good choices. Kilimanjaro is a challenging, moderately safe hike, and I really liked Australia.
This video was very helpful. I just recently sold my house and I’m working on getting out of debt to travel the world. Thanks!
how awesome! Wishing you the very best
On my way to Shri Lanka! Leaving at the end of October 2022. Meeting a friend who lives in Colombo. Wish me luck!
All the best!!!
Kristin, you truly are amazing. Thank you for this video. I’m quickly becoming an old guy and I now have the opportunity to travel. So, while I can, I must get on the road. This video opened up so many opportunities and it’s greatly appreciated. Thankfully, I now have friends living all over the planet and it’s time to go visit them.
Thank you again for your inspiration 🤗
Aw thanks so much for watching and I hope you have beautiful adventures!
This is super helpful! How do I go about parents who disagree with me solo traveling? I'm 23, and have such a passion for travel and they are holding me back!

Really cool, insightful and Well edited video. Thank you!
interesting and exciting video!
My first solo trips were to Rome for a week then Paris for a week. Loved then both!
I travel about 60+ days solo each year.
Thank you, this video was very informative. I have only decided within the past week that I want to solo travel and it came over me in a big rush, I feel like this is what I need to do for myself. I have always wanted to go to Canada so that's definitely on my list, I have never considered Iceland but you have intrigued me now. Do you have any videos on how to budget for travelling?
So many! Here's one to get started but my blog is full of info on how I afford to travel and how to travel to expensive countries on a budget, happy exploring! www.bemytravelmuse.com/how-to-afford-traveling-the-world-2/
Thanks for the list. I'm not even a traveler but you made it look fun and interesting.
even though I did watch it and 1.5 speed.
What a great job! You know, most of us would love to live your life lol! Keep them coming
Thank you for the video.
I think Japan has the same level of diversity, if not more, of scneary and landscape, from beaches and diving in Okinawa and surrounding islands, to small towns in Shikoku to ski hills in Hokkaido. Don’t just focus on Tokyo, it’s just one place in Japan
so ture, and all the amazing architectures. I want to explore Japan more!
Great list...I am planning to take a Solo trip for 2 years. Pandemic crashed my plans. Thinking of Prague...
Love it! Thank you! Great content. Subscribed.
