It's amazing what happens when you put the right vocalist with the right musicians. It proves magic is real. There's no other way to describe it.
Don't get me wrong my preference in AE is Alissa, but that being said Angela was a freaking beast. It was her with Dead Eyes and Nemesis that first hooked me.
@@Army_Rob the sound wasn't goof at all. It's not always about who screams more. Angels was more of a blackened death metal / black metal vocalist. Remember that AE is melodic death metal not a death metal band like Cannibal Corpse.
Angela was good indeed but Alissa is way way more verastile and suitable for tbe band. I never heard angela using clean vocals (maybe I run past a song idk). The sound, video quality, voice and versatility of the new Arch Enemy is unmatched. I know a lot of you live in the past but people evolve and Alissa is clearly a better evolution. I cannot image angela on this song she won't fit the sound. If you want to hear screams go listen to Cannibal Corpse or stick with the old stuff
I think the Agonist was awesome with Alissa.
@@NickN56 Tbf present Arch Enemy is jsut a dumbed-down The Agonist, she does the screams and cleans, but so did The Agonist, and she was much more creative and versatile in her vocals with them, also, you're saying Angela don't fit the band, but so does Alissa, AE is supposed to be a MELODIC band, the melodies are supposed to be made by the guitars, hence no need to have cleans, hence why Angela was a better fit, nowadays, AE is more of a mainstream The Agonist than the true, anarchist AE it once was

The whole Wacken set was free to stream live - it will never be the same as *being* there but the energy was amazing! Alissa is such a charismatic front - the crowd was told it was being filmed and everyone seemed to go hard! So much fun!
I had the pleasure to see Arch Enemy live for the very first time, just a month and a half ago. Simply amazing, so much energy, so much adrenaline, great experience.
They were one the best concerts I've seen.
I recently got to see Arch Enemy live for the first time after beeing a huge fan of them and especially Alissa ever since she first joined the band back in 2014, it was almost like a religious experience, the show was ABSOLUTELY F*ING KICKASS! And Alissa was, and I dont know how this is even possible, even more drop dead gorgeous in person!
Let's just be honest,there is no one like Alissa or Tatiana! These two lovely ladies are on their fucking A-game! Huge respect for Alissa,she brought new life to Arch Enemy and really competed the band like no one else ever could have. Her voice is unmistakable. Love ur vids Aileen! Big love...

I merely liked Arch Enemy in the beginning, but the last three albums have made me love Arch Enemy. I can appreciate how much more power metal they've put into their songs and they sound fantastic.

The performance of them at wacken was really amazing and u were able to see their fun at stage. It motivates the crowd as well :) and its really nice to see all the woman coming to metal as singer and player in the band. When I started listening to metal I only know guano apes with a female singer, now we have so many good bands with a female singer that’s a really good change and bring new vibes to metal. Adrienne Cowan did an amazing performance as well in the announcement for next year 🤘 a and great reaction ;)

To me Alissa is the perfect front person for any metal band but I so love💓💓 that Arch Enemy has her! she works so well with the band, that flowing blue hair and so much kick ass energy in such a small woman! Her interaction with the audience is epic!!!

I've been impressed with this group for a couple years now.
Saw them live as the last show in Alcatraz Festival Belgium a few weeks ago, Arch Enemy was the band that introduced me to harsher metal and i am a Jeff Loomis lover too, can confirm that seeing them on stage was very moving, they're awesome !

Aileen, I would like to see your reaction to the band "In This Moment", particularly the songs "Roots" and "Gun Show". I bet you will really like them.
With the band In This Moment, I can hear influences of Pantera, Manson, Nine Inch Nails and a little Arch Enemy.
It's actually impressive Alissa is able to wear those outfits, still breath and not be soaked through from sweat, I've seen them twice on their last tour, I had to take my shirt off and was still sweatin', especially when the flame throwers go off..
And yeah, the way she acts on stage is pretty awesome, fully relaxed, smilin', gettin' the audience involved, doin' tricks with the microphone and the mic stand... But the entire band is off the charts, they are all masters, Alissa draws the most focus and it's deserved, but Michael, Jeff, Daniel and Sharlee all deserve just as much credit, especially Michael who built the band and kept it goin' for 27 years

I love Arch Enemy. I never heard them before Alissa joined, so maybe I'm biased, but I don't know why she gets so much hate from the Angela fans.

Tbh i've been a fan since arch enemy had a male singer and i still don't get it. They still make awesome songs with each singer. Tbh angela took a bit at first for some to get used to too. Alissa has a god tier song in the recent game metal hellsinger too worth checking out.

That evening at Wacken was magical! In my good dreams I am still there jumping, moshing, singing along, circling the pit having a good time with friends...and in my bad dreams I am still there carrying all those crowdsurfers and once they reach the front the same people I just carried pop up right behind me all over again until the end of days
I do agree with you on the synergy. It's what makes me a fan I love how much fun they have. You can see it on their faces. A lot of bands just looks so serious. They play great, aggressive, and driving music. Yet end of the day they are ppl just having fun doing what they love. Passion is definitely there. I admire a band that can smile and have fun doing this. I saw em live in San Antonio during north American siege tour. I was totally mind fucked. I about cried during nemesis bc of the passion and love of music they have.
Arch Enemy is killing it with their new album so far! Each song is epic. And the riffs they’re pulling off are just fantastic.
If you’re interested in awesome female metal vocalist, I really recommend you look into Seven Spires and what Adrienne Cowan is doing. Her scale is just insane from clean to guttural but there’s also a lot of nuance that she’s pulling off.
Jeff loomis ( blond hair) on guitar is one of my favorite guitarist he was in Nevermore,and mike amott ( black hair) formed this band after he left carcass both beasts on tge guitar

I was going to write about how it makes me sad to see that Jeff Loomis doesn't get any solos but at least he got a short solo on this song! He has always had so much potential and it would be sad to see it go to waste.

Have you looked into Otep at all? You say your big in poetry. Otep mixes poetry in their songs and has a female vocalist as well. Otep also has release a book with her poetry in it that is amazing.
I totally agree with your review in about their great ability to sync but because thats one of the things that make` em stand out, but someday you should check out one of their videos with their old singer, Angela Gossow that also had the brother of the present guitarist b4 the blond you see on this video. The old singer got married, but is Arch Enemy`s booking manager.

4:53 There is a reason that going to a metal festival in Europe is on my bucket list.
EDIT: I was wrong in my initial assessment, this is at Wacken Open Air. Specifically, they are on the "Faster" stage, one of the three main performance stages at the festival, as can be seen in some of the super wide (possibly even using drones) shots.
I think, although I fully admit that i might be wrong, that the festival you went "Jesus Fucking Christ" to is Rock Am Ring at the Nurburgring race track in Germany, which has seen over 150,000 people attending each year for about the past decade. There is also Rock Im Park (which happens at the same time) in Nuremberg, a nearby town, and everyone knows about Wacken Open Air (Nightwish's 2013 perfect headlining concert that every reactor has seen at least one song from). But from Finland and Sweden down to Italy and Spain, there are GIGANTIC metal festivals all over Europe, and so one day, when I can actually a) grab a ticket and b) afford to fly over there from Canada, I will go to one of them :D
She's fuckin' fantastic. 🫀Hair🫀 her voice, her stage presence. Everything is fuckin' awesome. Loved her in The Agonist and love her in Arch Enemy. I do miss her cleans though, she used them more in The Agonist.

You really should check out "Once Human". They're a melodic death metal band from California with a female lead who can scream and growl better than alot of male vocalists.
You should check out a band called Conquering Dystopia. It's all instrumental. Fast pace metal. It is guitarists Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy), Keith Merrow (Alluvial,Demisery), drummer Alex Rudinger ( Whitechaple live and Ordence) and bassist Alex Webster (Cannibal Corpse).

i used to chat with alissa on facebook when she was young and not that well known. she comes from the same place as me. she is cool asf. she speaks perfect french. she stayed up very late at night and we had intense discussions with her. when she got the arch enemy gig, she became too big and had no more time to chat every day.
New to your channel! Absolutely love your enthusiasm, and seeing just how these songs make you react, and fill you with joy. I have a huge recommendation to you that you'll love. I know you love intense songs, and drumming, so check out the song by Fleshgod Apocalypse called "The Violation". It's insanely fast, amazing drumming, and the band is classically trained, too. You won't be disappointed.
