I always turn my christmas houses into vacation rentals so my sims can vacation to them for Christmas without having to redecorate my main house. I pretend it's like visiting grandma lol
that's genius i need to do that too. make a little vacation home for each big event with everything you need and then you can be like my sims are staying in a lil cabin/cottage for christmas
I actually work with someone who goes all out like this for the holidays, said she’s the host of all her friend and family parties. So she decorates EVERYTHING from bathrooms to living room and everything in between. As for nutcrackers that my contribution to the Christmas decor. I have a ton of various sizes and styles. Who care what they block they look cute.
Kayla: Would it be ridiculous to put a mini Christmas tree in the dining room? I think people do that? Me: **turns to look at the mini tree in my dining room**
Right?! I have my living room tree (full size) & dining room tree, front entrance tree and bedroom tree (all 7ft pencil trees). Next year I’ll be setting one up in my office and rec room as well 😍
I think decorating a bathroom is pretty common. I don’t do a lot, (or at least I don’t think it’s a lot lol) but I put festive hand towels and a festive soap dispenser (with festive soap inside) and gel window clings on the mirror. A festive scented candle as well lol. Happy Holidays everyone!!
I add an Advent Celebration holiday to my Sims' calendar one week before Winterfest, with the main goal being decorating for Winterfest. That way, their houses get decorated ahead of time, and I get to enjoy them! They also get those useful Satisfaction Reward Points. They can listen to holiday music while they decorate the tree, and then spend half the day deciding on which lights to use on their eaves and fences. Plus, a day off of work and school is always a good thing. Cheers and Happy New Year! P.S. I have an attic big enough for all of that decor. You can stand up in it, and walk the whole length of the long, single story house. There's a drop down ladder leading up there, and I have 26 bins of Christmas decor, plus ALL of my son's childhood toys, MY childhood toys, and a bunch of empty moving boxes. One day, there shall be stories told about "Grandma's Attic", if I'm ever lucky enough to become a grandma. 😆
The “dead” shrub is what ALL my real landscape plants look like in the winter months…dormant and beautiful in their own rights. That plant feels more realistic than the plants with leaves such as the ferns that would definitely be a mushy mess in winter. Only evergreen shrubs keep their leaves in the cold…ferns are NOT evergreens 🌲 Merry Christmas Kayla and Dan…enjoy your warm rainy weather❤️
My mom has special bathroom decor for every holiday. Just the downstairs bathroom though because it's the one guests see. Also the aprons from base game have cutest Christmas swatches.
I'm going to a friend's house today who goes all out for Christmas. She has an entire room where she stores the big bins full of decorations in the off-season. She has mostly vintage (as in the Mid-Century Modern time period) decorations. She's been posting teasers of what it looks like and I can't wait to see it in person. (I suspect it will make all the Sims houses that are decorated for Christmas look plain, at least based on the photos she's already shown us.)
I love the idea of having some Christmas houses for vacations like others have suggested. If you’re in the mood to do more Christmas builds what about doing ones designed to match some of the other common vacation destinations? Like a Christmas lodge for Granite Falls. A Christmas ranch, one in the style for Mt. Komorabi etc.
lol yes, I do decorate my bathroom! I have a Christmas shower curtain, towels, and bath mat. I would love to do it for all the big holidays. It makes every poop and shower feel fun!
If it makes you feel better, it's going to be rainy in Michigan this year too. While we work out daylight saving time, maybe we can set the calendar back a month. As a kid, we almost always had snow by Thanksgiving.
I started watching your videos this year and I fell in love with the content. I had the base game for the longest time and just because in your previous video you showed us a glimpse of seasons I've finally purchased more sims content in the sale that's currently going on. Not only that you also keep us up to date on any free stuff EA gives out and it's been awesome.
As far as holiday decor in bathrooms, the most I've done is a small holiday rug and handtowels. Or if I'm feeling fancy, a holiday candle (that is likely never lit) with potpourri wreaths around the base.
Lovely house as always! And yes, my family decorates the bathroom! We mainly decorate th main bath (we have 2) with Christmas towels, soap, rugs, and decals on the wall. We also have many cute Christmas trees to put on top of our cabinets!
My parents go all out for Christmas, so actually yes. Our bathroom is decorated for Christmas XD Hand towels changed out with red "happy Holidays" towels, red rugs on the floor, and a tiny Christmas tree on the back of the toilet LMAO
I decorate my bathroom with snowmen! I have a snowman shower curtain, bath mat, and various countertop snowmen ☃️ The rest of my house looks like it threw up Christmas with red green and gold everywhere you look! I don’t have much more room in my front yard due to all my outdoor decorations! I live in Canada and the lights shining off the snow is so magical ❤
Re: your question about decorating the bathroom for holidays, I did buy a back of Halloween decals with a bunch of shiny gold skulls and bats and I put the leftovers after decorating the other windows in the house all over the bathroom mirror and it was way cute.
15:59 I asked myself the same question when, in one of the House Flipper missions, I got tasked with putting way too much christmas dekoration into bathrooms and toilets. ^^
as a simmer who plays with lots of holidays (i like making multicultural households with lots of holidays) it can get to be a lot. i use that lamp, the table, and the seasons mailbox like every build. add giving them outfits and throwing a spooky party on halloween, and you just end up going into cas and build mode basically every two days to add stuff and change swatches. worth it tho tbh. number one tip is turn off the gnomes for harvestfest/thanksgiving… they’re MADDENING!
oh i wish she built something like the home alone house where all the little details are all red and green and christmas themed but it's subtle is some places, it's so cute!
Those little snowflake wall decals will look great on the fence--in light blue, and then you can put pool lights--in light blue shade, along the hedge line just on the outside of the hedge to highlight the snowflake decals. As for the pond, I would have put a couple of the lighted trees and the wooden deer decoration, as well as an upside toy sled, to make it look like Santa has been there. As for the rest of the year, that is why people in the South leave their lights up all year long. As for space, that is what yard sales are for, but then again if you have an attic or basement you can use that.
Plsssssss this is so cute, its making me so excited for Christmas tomorrow (Greetings from Germany lol), the Christmas at the grandparents vibes are strong but i love it, its so comforting
My grandma decorates her house with snowman’s. Every room from end of thanksgiving has snowmen in it. Living room is typical snowman ⛄️ with red accents, bathrooms are blue snowman’s and kitchen is red a green snow men. And she leaves garland up year round in her living room , an her room is just all of em Lolol 😂 I love it, an it’s so sweet to see. (It also makes giving gifts kinda easy cause anything snowman is approved) 😂🥰😂
To answer about decorating the bathroom, for Christmas we generally put a bit of tinsel around the mirror and some sort of Christmas figurine and candle in the windowsill or a bowl with pinecones
my mom decorates that much irl for Christmas (yes, even garland in the bathroom!) we have a pretty big "Christmas room" in the basement that only stores Christmas decor. its very pretty.
I put holiday towels (christmas, Pride, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and Valentines Day) in the guest bathroom and kitchen. It's easy and inexpensive. We do lights outside, tree, and a fully decorated table (table cloth, runner, placemats, etc. for all holidays)
i think it would be cool to do a built using stuff you don’t think you ever have! like: “building a house with items i never use” or something similar :)
I saw a decluttering video of someone who did holidays like this, and they basically had a whole appartment worth of storage in their basement. Like two bedrooms an office a bathroom and a little kitchenette plus the actual store room.
YES. yes I DO decorate my bathroom! I change out the shower curtain, rugs and towels and add appropriate decorations. This year is snowflakes and twinkle lights. I have a lovely large counter space that just BEGS to be decorated.
Uh...We have several mini trees in this house, LOL. I think my grandpa used to use them in a winter scene on his sideboard, iirc. Anyway, mom had a bunch of tiny ornaments, so now they have a new life all decorated! I also mended an old 2ft tree my mom had and have it up next to my desk to hold all my handmade ornaments from an ornament exhange I've been doing with friends since our early 20's.
I added a holiday at the start of fall and winter that's only for decorating, festive mood, and baking for winter. Otherwise I forget about holidays and don't care the day of
I can verify that people do decorate bathrooms for Christmas. My parents always switched the soap dispenser to something season, and had this weird toilet lid cover that had Santa on it. I much prefer the way you decorated the bathroom for Christmas though.
I fell asleep while watching this video and had a dream that Simsie also made a sim who would live here and the sim was a girlfriend of the Grinch, which is something i REALLY wish to see now :D :D
I always turn my christmas houses into vacation rentals so my sims can vacation to them for Christmas without having to redecorate my main house. I pretend it's like visiting grandma lol
I was literally just thinking this like this is so smart
What a wonderful idea!
that's genius i need to do that too. make a little vacation home for each big event with everything you need and then you can be like my sims are staying in a lil cabin/cottage for christmas
That’s a a great idea!!
Me too!!

I got one for my kiddos on our mantel for my babies 🤣
Me looking at my mini Christmas tree centerpiece
I think decorating a bathroom is pretty common. I don’t do a lot, (or at least I don’t think it’s a lot lol) but I put festive hand towels and a festive soap dispenser (with festive soap inside) and gel window clings on the mirror. A festive scented candle as well lol. Happy Holidays everyone!!
I think I never even thought about the invention of festive soap HAHAHA But I love it!
My candles are in the cutest ceramic gingerbread houses and when you light them the windows glow 🥹 I have a whole village in the bathroom 😂

My mom used to have a tree with a theme in every room. Kayla is giving momma rew vibes in this build 😂
Pop off mama rew

This would be a super cute house for Sims to take a Christmas vacation in :)
I know Kayla didn’t do this, but building the house from Christmas Vacation would be awesome.
My mom has special bathroom decor for every holiday. Just the downstairs bathroom though because it's the one guests see. Also the aprons from base game have cutest Christmas swatches.
Crazy how Christmas is in 2 days lol
Well if you are a catholic Christan but I am orthodox Christians and We celebrate on the 7th of January

I’m thinking it could be cool to put this in mount komorebi and use it as a vacation house for the holidays!
Happy Christmas to you and Stanley!
And Dan and Snap and Sunny and Shrimp!!

the train set around the christmas tree helloooo??? that’s so adorable???
I have to appreciate Kayla's decisions to just do things however she wants
I’m totally going to use this as a vacation rental for my sims for winterfest!!

I love how all my favorite youtubers are all posting Christmas videos- really gets me into the Christmas spirit!
Oh so that is what I saw yesterday on the gallery. Merry Christmas Kayla!
This build is so cozy and cute!
It looks really good! It could be a vacation home for families to go on vacation and just spend Winterfest on it. 💙💙
If it makes you feel better, it's going to be rainy in Michigan this year too. While we work out daylight saving time, maybe we can set the calendar back a month. As a kid, we almost always had snow by Thanksgiving.

Would I have my sims live in a house like this? Probably not, but taking my sims on a vacation for Winterfest could be super cute
Happy Christmas to anyone who celebrates!!
Christmas eve tomorrow!!
As far as holiday decor in bathrooms, the most I've done is a small holiday rug and handtowels. Or if I'm feeling fancy, a holiday candle (that is likely never lit) with potpourri wreaths around the base.
I always get scared that my books are going to be set on fire... too much fire trauma in the sims 😅 so brave
Meanwhile she putting a Christmas tree literally in front of the lighted up chimney
Lovely house as always! And yes, my family decorates the bathroom! We mainly decorate th main bath (we have 2) with Christmas towels, soap, rugs, and decals on the wall. We also have many cute Christmas trees to put on top of our cabinets!

Re: your question about decorating the bathroom for holidays, I did buy a back of Halloween decals with a bunch of shiny gold skulls and bats and I put the leftovers after decorating the other windows in the house all over the bathroom mirror and it was way cute.
Cool!
15:59 I asked myself the same question when, in one of the House Flipper missions, I got tasked with putting way too much christmas dekoration into bathrooms and toilets. ^^
There could be a Jingle Bell to live in the Christmas themed house
The sims queen has posted!!!!💚💚💚

the cottage is so cute definitely saving it to my gallery
Beautiful and amazing as always! And for next Christmas build there is a Christmas swatch on the seasons mail box!
oh i wish she built something like the home alone house where all the little details are all red and green and christmas themed but it's subtle is some places, it's so cute!
watched this this Christmas morning and it was a great vibe :) ty!

I want to add this to my world as a vacation rental for my sims to stay in at winterfest. Reminds me of the cottages I've been to for Christmas

The way your sims roasted you on your decorations was priceless! 😂😂😂
Currently watching this on Christmas Eve in Minnesota, not a bit of snow on the ground it is currently downpouring rain 😅
To answer about decorating the bathroom, for Christmas we generally put a bit of tinsel around the mirror and some sort of Christmas figurine and candle in the windowsill or a bowl with pinecones
This is a really nice and festive house Kayla. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and everyone else.
as a texan who will also be having a warm and rainy christmas i appreciate the vibes of this video 😭
my mom decorates that much irl for Christmas (yes, even garland in the bathroom!) we have a pretty big "Christmas room" in the basement that only stores Christmas decor. its very pretty.
That red top looks gorgeous on you, simsie! Lovely Christmas-y look and house
I like the green wallpaper the pastel work imo.
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
Next year you could do a "equatorial/south equatorial" christmas. We spend it in the beach, or in a swimmingpool since its hot LOL.
Would be cool XD
Merry Christmas! PEACE LOVE & JOY!!!
My mother in law decorates EVERY INCH of the inside of their house every year and I love it 🥰
i think it would be cool to do a built using stuff you don’t think you ever have!
like: “building a house with items i never use” or something similar :)
I saw a decluttering video of someone who did holidays like this, and they basically had a whole appartment worth of storage in their basement. Like two bedrooms an office a bathroom and a little kitchenette plus the actual store room.
My six year old sees Vlad at the door. "Oh, look! A caroler came to the house!" 🤣

I can't wait for Christmas lol ❤
something that could be fun is an interfaith household? like a menorah on the table but a christmas tree in the corner?
I'm in northern Indiana and it's supposed to be 56° and rainy for us on Monday and I'm happy. I hate the snow.
I was thinking to myself that it felt a little too early for exclusively Christmas content and then I realized Christmas is in TWO DAYS??
My mom makes her guest bathroom snowman themed in winter there’s a snowman soap a snowman towel and a little snowman statue
That whole house is a FIRE HAZZARD! 🔥🎄🔥
Don't feel bad, it's gonna be 60 in Chicago today and 55 Christmas Day.
Omg I love you simsie I look forward to your video every single day🥳🥳
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE
I added a holiday at the start of fall and winter that's only for decorating, festive mood, and baking for winter. Otherwise I forget about holidays and don't care the day of
That’s a good idea!
our half bath is always decorated for every holiday
adorbs! merry christmas Kayla :D
merry christmas eve! 💕💕💕
eve eve**
You could play in it with your Legacy Family, a Holiday vacation and then Go back home after christmas
Video on furnishing a house from what you find in Christmas presents
Would be a cool rental for winterfest vacation
I can verify that people do decorate bathrooms for Christmas. My parents always switched the soap dispenser to something season, and had this weird toilet lid cover that had Santa on it. I much prefer the way you decorated the bathroom for Christmas though.
Cute Cottage. And merry Christmas
I love this build, in Finland we celebrate chrismas on 24th so it is 1 hour and 38 minutes until it is officially chrismas day 😅
I’m in the Midwest and it’s warm and rainy on Christmas Eve lol
I live in central Minnesota and for the first time in my 34 years it will be brown and raining! I'm longing for a white Christmas too!
It would be fun to de-Christmas this house once the holidays pass lol
I swear I was just saying the other week I'm waiting for Christmas which was December 1st and it's literally almost here 😮
I didn't know the decorations saved for the holidays . this is gonna make me want to build my own .😅
An amazing house! So cozy🥰
I fell asleep while watching this video and had a dream that Simsie also made a sim who would live here and the sim was a girlfriend of the Grinch, which is something i REALLY wish to see now :D :D
Simsie you had the perfect place to add the closet in the kids room. It could have been in that closed off area.
Hot and rainy sounds like Florida and Australia are going to have a similar Christmas
That would make a great Father Winter House
