The trees should be different sizes as people choose the right size for their home, and there needs to be something that looks like the machine that puts the tree in a netting for transport. I like the build though, looks great.

I actually think that the children’s room in here is the best part of the build. It feels like such a great community space to bring the family. Let the little kids play in the playground while the adults go and have some hot cocoa and have conversations on the other side.I think maybe having different sizes of trees would be good. But honestly, the biggest thing that I would do differently is I would’ve made this a retail lot. Because then it would be like yes they can buy the trees, but you could’ve also set up stuff to be like ornaments and cards or whatever. So it really is just a real Christmas store.

But if you do ever do this again, I would suggest making it a bit more messy/unorganized :D Real life tree farms are literally like forests filled with Christmas trees, so naturally the sizes, shapes and placements of the trees are kinda all over the place. We have a lot of tree farms in our area. They do look like rows upon rows of identical trees sometimes. (Some have trees of different sizes and shapes, but many are "groomed" to all be the same shape and size. I guess they sell better that way.)

    • @HannahJo32
      @HannahJo32 11 месяцев назад +2

Yep my uncle owns one in Wisconsin & it's a very cookie cutter looking field with nothing cheery, festive or fun. You go pay for saw rental, try not to cut off your finger, trudge through ankle deep mud (the 1st snow usually comes a day or so before Christmas so it's all brown & smells like bogwater), drag the tree to the truck, get a net, pay & leave while fighting over who thought this was a good idea. There's absolutely no BS TV tropes. If there were the prices would double & everyone's already hoping mad about inflation. We aren't going to decorate for a single month of the year with $2000 with of toxic tinsel.

The barn is full of decorations and ornaments for sale in addition to hot chocolate, and they have a smaller shed full of wreaths. We have a tradition of picking out a new ornament every year. my childhood home is a brand new house that was built in the middle of an artificial pine tree forest, with all these giant pine trees all planted in neat rows all around us. it was a failed lumber farm when my family picked up the property. when i was little, i was always told that my house used to be a christmas tree farm (even though they're the wrong kind of tree for that purpose, and were never farmed as christmas trees) so i'm very excited for this video!

This is so cute and pretty accurate for not going to one! I love all the cozy decorations and the big tree in the middle of the barn is chef's kiss! I have a bunch of tree farms around where I live and they plant the trees in a round for lack of a better word. So I think having some of the rows different sizes to note that they were planted in an earlier/later year would add some variety and realism. Also I think this would have worked potentially as a retail lot or community marketplace too and have some like toys to sell or craftables to be presents.

The trees are differnt lengths and widths as to have options so the cosumer can find one that fits their needs or/and space where the tree will be.

But I guess it's in line with many of her other builds and how she always says she can't tell how big a particular space is. THE GRID! and she builds in the Sims almost every day. How does she not understand scale? I honestly don't understand why she struggles so much with that.

I love your christmas tree farm, but I just want to tell you how they usually are in my experience in New York. Ive gone to a variety of farms in many regions in the state. There is usually some sort of barn/shop area, but it tends to be in the front instead of the back. They will sell things from christmas tree ornaments, to wreaths, to baked goods, to hot drinks. Most things are Christmas/winter themed, but that isn't always the case. Depending on the area, the trees may be on a hill or in a mountain, but they are always behind the barn/shop. Sometimes if people have reserved trees, the trees will be decorated. This looks super good, but I just wanted to give my Northeastern experience/advice to a Floridian who has probably not experienced this! Sending lots of love and happy holidays!!!

She would also offer local jams and jellies and such, quilts, and other crafts available for sale. Those long tables on the sides would be perfect for that sort of thing. This would likely work as a retail lot. One could sell Christmas decor, pre-decorated trees, Cottage Living jams, and Eco Lifestyle candles & seltzers. Even bottles of wine. Growing up here in New Zealand, we had natural trees because our lifestyle block had a shelterbelt of pine trees. However, we had to switch to artificial trees when the real ones’ branches got too big.

This is SO cute!! What a great idea!!! It would have been such a cute idea to put some of the cards from Seasons in the kid’s room as if the kids are making cards for their grownups for the gift exchange. I’ll have to start joining your twitch streams if I wanna make suggestions tho 😅

In my experience Christmas tree farms are much less uniform and more spread out.
They’re basically fields with a mix of all different sizes all over with irregular spacing. I’d guess this is because you go and pick your tree so some get picked each year and others are left to grow and they plant saplings wherever gaps open up. Sometimes they have an area with specifically the large ones.
They reserve some trees to grow really big for community spaces etc that want huge 5m trees. Most trees are sold when they’re between 1 and 2 meters, for in peoples’ houses.
Edit: I don’t mean this to come off critical. This build is super cute and very in the Christmas spirit. I only mean this to be informative for our Floridian friends out there 🤍

I like it. I wonder if you can make it a retail lot and be able to sell the trees? Hmm. I love Christmas and Christmas trees but I don't like the taking it down and putting away everything. lol.

I would have put some stumps down in some of the tree spots, like people have already picked a few trees to take home. I love the Christmas builds so much.

As someone who lives in the beautiful PNW, most of the "tree farms" that arent like gimmicky for children are just parking lots lol, popping up like firework tents at the start of july.. and the gimmicky tree farm I went too was just a train ride to a bunch of already cut down trees (lol) so I feel like the movies and references online/what your building is wayy cooler then any real life one I have personally ever been too haha

We went to one in WA when I was young, but we had to drive pretty rural to get to it. I don't miss the cutting down part too much! 😂

If you live in the beautiful PNW, you should go to a real tree farm. We have lots of them. They just require a bit of a drive, and then walking around hunting for the "perfect" tree, before cutting it down yourself. It's not hard, and a fun change of pace. We are incredibly lucky to live where we do. Take advantage of it! We did this when our son was young. When I was little, my Dad always went into the forest, to get one cheap off of NFS land because we couldn't afford one from a tree lot. Now THAT was a tree farm! 🤣

The Skating rink would be a good addition to the park, it would add more things for sims to do considering the trees are just decorative in the lot.

I live where it snows and I've never been to a tree farm, because we buy fake ones. This looks pretty impressive to me, but I agree with the idea that trees should be multiple sizes. Also, I loved the idea of the skating rink, but I'm probably also stuck on Christmas movies, lol.
