I never said it was Dio's Rainbow, this is you putting words in my mouth. I consider 'Rising' and 'Long Live Rock N Roll' as grea group efforts. Dio wrote most of the lyrics, and Ritchie and Powell the music. Allthough Dio sings on the first (Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow), it is more like a solo album. It was first when Ritchie got Dio and Powell into the the full fold, Bob Daisley etc. got involved that things became brilliant. Iron Maiden chose Blaze Bailey over Doogie...says it all.
@kmacrigs yes, but if you know the video he says "the others (which stand there around) are pretty much the same." which means he has 4 or 5 of these white 70´s strats all looking the same. he is using these closed Lace Sensor pickups for a long time now. Anyway :) also his signature has no middle pu dummy, this one has which you can see in the mistreated video from this show. this is just an old white strat :)
@lw48wp4 I have this custom shop strat :) As far as I can remember he has it in the No second chance video. It´s a good guitar, but the scalopping has nothing to do what Ritchie´s Strats have... In this case the "standard" signature is more close
I think it's sad that some only recognise Ritchie's talent in classic Rainbow. Of course Ritchie started it all, but the vast majority of Rainbow fans is capable to know the importance of Dio and Powell in it. I'm a big Ritchie Blackmore fan, but I'm not biased and ignorant....THAT'S the difference. So NO, I have not created this "Dio & Cozy box that I live in". This version of Rainbow was nothing compared to 1975-84. Doogie White is a pub singer who got lucky.

This is not his signature model. he never played the signature Strat. He always plays his old white 70´s Strat(s) since the 80´s.
