"He's sadly ends up limited to scripted boss fights" That is ACTUALLY saddening. Mr X was being relentless was the best part. The mod to mute his footsteps and turn off his music made it even more intense, as you'd be walking along minding your own business and then suddenly he'd drop you from behind. Nemesis was somewhat scripted in the original, only showing up at specific ties, and if he did pop up randomly it was once here and there so you couldn't keep downing him to farm special grenade launcher ammo. I was keen for the chase, him hunting me in every area, although I do see it sucking your resources dry unless you've got that dodge down-pat
I'm honestly a bit confused by this. I watched some of the early playthroughs of the full game. Sure, some areas he doesn't show up in, but while the players backtracked for items that weren't story related, he dogged their heels.
Mr X was scary for a time, but honestly he became more of a nuisance the more he showed up. All the times you need to competently stop what you need to do in order to progress and finally get out of the area you've been stuck in for a long time, just to lead Mr X away became frustrating real quick. It ended up with X becoming more annoying than scary. To keep something scary, one shouldn't constantly jam it in your face, but balance it out more, making the moments when they do show up more scary.
Mr.x only really followed you in the Police station, and then for a small part later on not the full game so doesn't sound like this is really any different.
Mr.X was simple though. He just walks fast and you can outrun him. Nemesis is a lot more crazy than that. He runs, jumps in front of you, pops up out of nowhere. It would honestly get annoying as hell having him a constant threat.
Mr x was walking nemesis can run and catch you easily if he was to be random in the game the game would be extremely difficult as you can't outrun him like mr x
The dead factory was literally expanded into a Nest 2 extension. As for the clock tower, it's there too but it's used as an arena for one of the mandatory nemesis fight (the quadripedal phase), and the park is there too, albeit shorter. The gravedigger is gone too, but they added more forms for Nemesis. I've heard the lickers are back too
I would love nothing more. But every time the topic comes up people just whine about dino crisis. Which is a shame because that's like comparing a marvel movie to an arthouse flick. Of course more people are going to want it but it just wouldn't be able to be as special.

Vikings426 it definitely is different but is what RE3 would be with a bigger budget and made in 2020. The game was cheap and had a bad development cycle the first time through.
@@EndsOnAWin Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to this release but I'm going to be very disappointed if they removed the randomness of Nemesis that was in the original
Resident Evil 3: 9/10 Jill 10/10 Edit: oof, I see PC Gamer has given this a mediocre review, which shows tou how subjective gaming is. Still, I will play it.
I have seen many reviews and many are complaining about short length of game with less replayability and nemesis encounters seems more scripted than X.
Dunno why but i think the ps1 version is more creepy maybe nostalgia lol still new nemesis looks more cool then scary to me but capcom please dont bring the regenerators back in this style ill never sleep
FUN FACT. Nemesis was actually going to show up a lot more in the 2nd half of the game. He was still going to hunt you randomly in his evolved forms. They removed it when testers said it was pretty unfair. Some of his forms will always land damage on some maps. Even if you super skilled, enough hits will shrink your healing supplies artificially boosting the difficulty of the later parts. The 2nd half is supposed to already get harder but your given enough resources and time to develop skill to overcome. With the evolved nemesis, he made the game unfair. The only solutions were to A. Give more healing items, or B make the 2nd half easier. Neither works since skilled players will abuse the healing items, regular players won't feel like the difficulty is increasing. All your doing is just getting hit more often and its okay cause you either have more healing, or the damage is easily avoidable. The solution they choose, was to just cut Nemesis out the 2nd half on random spawns and evolved forms. Sounds bad, but it's actually a reward to skilled players. If you can get to the 2nd half of the game fast, then you will save resources. If you back track to much and waste to much time in the 1st half, then you will end up being abused by Nemesis. Fun Fact part 2: They also had the same problem in the original RE3. They also used the same solution. As you pass through the different parts of town from the start until you get the tram to go to the clock tower, Nemesis will mainly only appear at scripted moments. The times he can randomly appear is based on how fast you go through areas and how often you have visited the area.
Besides Mr x appeared only in the station and a few scripted events. Mainly the unpredictable nature was he just roamed where he pleased. And was easier to avoid.
@@marciocouto3543 Then she should have just said that, rather than try and be poetic and unclear about something. Its a common issue I noticed from the main games outlets

~4-5 hours ~Simple puzzles ~Large chunks of areas missing ~Nemy being less stalker-ish then Mr. X ~Lack of mercenaries mode Yeah, 7.5 looks to be right. I'm sure I'll enjoy it though....once the price drops to $20-25.🤣😂🤷🏽♀️
So, Nemesis pops-up sporadically, just like in the original. Perfect, then! I disliked so very much Mr. X just chasing you all around in 2. Made him fell tedious and annoying rather than terrifying. Go Resi 3!
*It looks fantastic for single player... but it's disappointing that after the campaign.. there's almost no extra content. And the multiplayer seems pretty.. meh. I think this game was rushed compared to how awesome RE2 Remake was* ✅🙂
@Drew Draws! yeah, they did cut off quite a bit, played the original RE3 when I was a kid, I missed some of the locations and points where there are choices. I guess the only ones not complaining are the ones who did not play the original one. It would've been fine if the launch price was reasonable.
I’m actually happy nemesis doesn’t come out as much.. I don’t wanna feel overwhelmed with him hunting me as much I prefer to deal more with zombies and other monsters.. an equal balance between opponents is very important.
I agree, the reason I play resident evil games isn't because they contain an invincible enemy constantly hunting me. I understand it was the main future in the OG re3 but I prefer the puzzle/horror atmosphere and even back in 2002 being hunted by an enemy you couldn't beat was more annoying then fun or challenging.
@@JestersmilesStream that doesnt make sense the og u could beat nemisis and gain a reward from it, an unbeatable enemy becomes a nuisance not a challenge if used too often
As a long die hard fan of this series, I am so happy that Capcom was able to pull out these last games from RE 7 to the new remakes, the RE Engine is amazing and they are really taking advantage of it . They did such an incredible job and I enjoy playing these games a lot. Gonna play this one a lot, I hope the next titles are either RE8 or Code Veronica Remake
Well, Capcom cut 40% if Resident Evil 3 there no clock tower or graveyard the remake of Resident Evil 3 and the Nemesis doesn't chase you through the game.
Chase Jackson More people died with COVID than H1Z1 where the current president has actively tried to suppress info at first because it made him look bad
Yeah I was questioning that decision, but I guess they wanted to make Marvin's bite memorable and give a reason why Brad would be roaming in RE2 police station like the original, just guessing.
Why is everybody complaining about how short game time is?the original game only for 4-5 hours, and this game remake is about 6-7 hours gameplay in standard mode! And fyi,RE 2 remake only has a duration of 5 hours for each character leon/claire. And it doesn't become 10 hours of play because the gameplay is the same.
SinyoYoda 1992 I’ve seen full gameplay of it and it is only 5 hours. Honestly just kind of disappointing to me but I still love everything else about this game.
Monkey D. Lex hi there, maybe we don't just look at it, but play it, is it true that if we play it will be the same as those who play for only 5 hours gameplay? maybe they play in easy mode so they finish it quickly lol :p
SinyoYoda 1992 mate it’s short. You’d actually have to go at slug pace to finish it in more than 7 hours. Like I get that the original is short and everything. But the real reason I’m really dissapointed is because they’re selling the game for $60... a 6 hour game for that price is ridiculous. It should cost 40 at most.
I don't know, that seems unnecessary. Resident Evil 1 - 3 were remade for obvious reasons (a huge improvement for graphics and gameplay). But Resident Evil 4 was a beautiful game that was fleshed out nicely (and aged pretty well). They probably need to just start a new story in the franchise and go from there.
The same reviewer game Batman: Return to Arkham, a bundle with 2 games with a 9.3 and 9.5 review score, remastered for current generation consoles a 7 out of 10.
@Stefan van Wijngaarden I got the game early. Being same engine doesn't mean it is the same game. Gameplay is way different and feels more action based compare to 2. Areas feel more rushed. Nemisis is actually not a threat since his lack of time in game. Still fun but forsure feels like a stepback from re2r.
Feels more action packed than the last game. I beat it in less than a day. It’s a fun game, just honestly not worth $60. There isn’t that much content after you beat the game either. It’s worth $40 max. I’d wait for a sale if I were you.
IGN ratings are normally trash, I wouldn’t be surprised if the people rating this didn’t even play the original classic RE3 lol. So much is cut out on this game and the themes are gone. Hopefully they have one to upgrade to like the RE2 remake, to at least give the game a resident evil sound
I thought I wasn’t gonna like this game because of how short it was but holy crap I got the platinum I loved this game more than the second on it’s just so fun to go through
They said"raccoon city will be more open and expanded"well people who have played the remake like me here knows that is a big lie...we had expected more from this,we all though that capcom make raccoon city more bigger for us to explore...i though yeah in the 2 remake we couldnt see so much of the status of city maybe we could in the 3 remake cuz it was all more based on the streets but NOPE they screwed with that, still a playable game but they can do better than that...hope in the future they makes some dlc stories about others survirvors in different and new areas with new enemies
The game is not bad, but it's not even close to great either, honestly if any fan of the original RE 3 say that its amazing, pff beach please... there's a lot of problems, you can feel they did this game "in a hurry" or for the "fans" of RE 4,5 and 6. But it's capcom being capcom they know we are gonna buy it anyway, they don't care if you enjoy it or not, as long as people are buying it they are fine...
The footage is a bit spoilery. Would've been nice if they just showed stuff from the first part of the game instead of all the creature types, Nemesis forms and what-not. Also, really disappointed again in the 6 hour thing 😒
That Rad Guy the third game has always been shorter and if you liked the resident evil 2 remake there shouldn’t be a problem cause it’s not hard to finish in under 4 hours
RE games have always been around the 5-8 hour mark. The only exception is Resident Evil 4 which is like 15 hours. As long as it has a ton of replay value that's all that matters. I've beaten RE2 remake over 10 times now, and I can do a speedrun of that in 2 hours. It's also in my top 3 RE games of all time.
I really hope they remake Resident Evil (1). It sounds like a no-brainer, but it has to be a remake with all the content and no story shortcuts. RE3 is so short not just because the original was short, but because they've cut stuff out of this remake that was in the original to stream line the modern story.
Honestly , all i want is a new dead Space game Hopefully Capcom will buy the Dead Space IP from EA and make one themselves Just imagine a New dead Space game developped by Capcom , that will be great
It's interesting how the opinions about a specific game may vary depending on which country's IGN is reviewing it. The Portuguese IGN's articule on RE3 was far from flattering and the gave it a 7 rather than the complements issued on this video review and a 9 score
@Afterlife is The Future look who's talking it was OK with Mr x but this is different nemsies is fast jumps all the time screams has an rpg and a flamethrower quit throwing judgment like ur some pro gamer kid
I recently purchased RE3 on the PS store on their black Friday sale for 20$. After beating it twice within 2 weeks, I still feel I overpaid for the game. RE3 has no replay-ability, no alternate choice scenarios, eliminating whole areas of the game not allowing us to explore Racoon City and eliminating bonus modes such as mercenaries choosing to blow their load early by introducing NEMISIS within the first 5 minutes. They also turned the most iconic monster in the series into a DOG NEMISIS within the first hour of the game. Enemies were nerfed as well, there was some sort of WALKING DEAD logic going on here, on season 1, two or three zombies would be an actual threat, RE3 has you shooing away multiple zombies like they were pigeons. " RE3 was an action game though", not really. Tank controls still hindered movement creating the survival horror tone, struggling to create ammo as well as the shock of seeing so many zombies to deal with as compared to RE and RE2. Not once did I feel as though I wasn't prepared to enter an area due to lack of ammo. If you wanted to play a RE action game then play RE4, RE5 or RE6. WASTED opportunity, after the greatness that was the RE2 remake, RE3 remake is the biggest DISAPOINTMENT of the PS4.
Anyone notice some spoilers in this review? And before people says "it's based on a game that came out years ago" because people don't watch before commenting. There's some new content that's been added in here that wasn't in the original and this chick spoiled some of it.

Sommer I wouldn’t count that since that’s speed running through a game, if you wanted to you could enjoy the full length of the game at your pace. Plus how fast could you beat RE3 than? If it’s normal run is 6 hours how fast would a speed runner be able to do it an hour?
All it takes is a global pandemic for IGN to actually put out a decent review that doesn't take a dump on a game, or spoil everything about it (I know this is a remake but you catch my drift)

6:00 RE2 doesn't have a new game plus. It has almost exactly where you describe RE3 as having. Whenever you earn a new item or weapon, it shows up in the item box in future play throughs
i feel like something was missed in this review considering the RE2 review IGN gave, plus i feel like there was more in the demo we got than this review is telling us too, i can't put my finger on it tho.
@@HunterForHire422 but compare to re2, which was double the length at 10 hours, and had 2 actual different paths as well as that other solider mode thing. This is 5 hours, with no different paths as they cut out the choices from the original.
@@titularhero If you want to bring up side content, then this game has Resistance, which is launching with 4 masterminds, 7 survivors, and 3 maps, which all have their own variations. There's plenty of content included here.
So the fact that it's short as hell, has reused assets, cuts off major locations from the original game. Nemesis is scripted on a majority of the game, and it has the lowest replayability value means 9/10 on a 60 bucks game... fascinating. Surprisingly, it's disappointing comparing the RE2 remake which had way much more content
This game was way to short. 😕😑😤. Beat in a day and was like damn. Hope that don't do that with the 4 remake. They need to remake this remake and actually put a little more effort into it
CAPCOM failed completely to capture the original Resident Evil 3 in this REMAKE. They forgot (and excluded many original elements of the game) such as: survivor horror element, desperate and gloomy atmosphere of the situation in the city, fear factor of being constantly hunted by the Nemesis in the streets and inside the buildings, anxiety of not having enough resources to fight on, they also made Nemesis into a jumping spider joker instead of preserving his original mutation with tentacles form, Brad's voice acting and story was also pathetic, they also excluded many locations: iconic city street's alleyways, buildings, Raccoon Park, Clocktower mansion and original Acid Factory. Moreover, the original Basic Survival Horror within the Nightmare of the city gameplay was changed into an action oriented game which Resident Evil never was to begin with. All of the things that made RE3 an iconic game were REMOVED.. Shame on you CAPCOM.
Plus less puzzles, shame capcom wimped out on investing on this to make it complete and a standout. Will be a bargain bin buy unfortunately, worth 10$ or less. Ign a joke with a 9.
You should make a video

Much more linear,,as u said missing clock tower etc.
Suxh a shame capcom just let it die like that, should make the effort to make it a complete std out. Such a missed opportunity
T Virus, Corona Virus doesn’t matter, waiting for Nemesis to pop up
Corona virus = c - virus
I hope the F not!
I personally never played the original. If someone has played both, how much content is cut out in the remake from the original (I’m about 3 hours in so no spoilers)?
SPOILERS. damn, at least warn your viewers
@kupis1408 theres a clip of later nemesis fights
spoilers??? whaddya mean dude? i reckon almost everybody who is going to buy this has played it and beaten the game at least twice.. kinda hard to spoil a game that is 20 years old lol
@@raidermaxx2324 it's a remake, half of what was in the original has been made. But the point is the appearance of nemesis at least should be hidden from the video
If Jill was a guy, she'd have pulled a Days Gone again calling him a "generic white male protagonist".
because he would be rather than a classic character
9 ... Amazing...
You kidding me?
Taking out the nemesis split second decision game mechanic
The clock tower lvl entirely taken out
No mercenary mode
Damn, i came here just to see if the rumor was true you gave this game a 9 out of 10 and you DID
Nuff said
I was expecting Nemesis to be looming around like Mr X for a while. A couple hours of Nemesis creeping on you seems to be on the short side right? I guess it depends on how fast you play the game. Now I actually expect people to Mod Nemesis A.I and model from RE3 into RE2 and MR X in RE3... XD Fun!
Perhaps it depends on the difficulty
Neocaron Mr X AI is boring af
Kinda reminds me of how dirty they did jack in re7
Neocaron yep , I thought this might be the case. Very disappointed.
