I just bought a 93 LX 4cyl pretty clean for Canada. Paid 3k. All OG drove it home. Everyone says I over paid.... I unno. I love the car, and it's a great project for me and the kiddos
Awesome find. I'm doing a 90 lx right now. Would love to see a detailed on what's needed for the 4cyl to v8 swap. wiring harness, fuel system, computer. All the things to just get it going for a fun driver.
I did mine 6 years ago and I still have it. The easiest way to swap it is to find a donor car. Because they’re small parts that’s nearly impossible to find.
My son found a notch 4 cylinder car in Chicago 2 years ago for my retirement project. Had 916 miles on it all tags, perfect body. Family just wanted the car gone only drove car to get oil changes and EPA checks. My wife was amazed it still had new car smell. Swapped in a 5.0 with a Pony Down turbo and built AOD. In my opinion that’s a great great deal... 4 cly cars is what you want because a lot of the v8 cars is ragged on and the body are twisted or twinked, 4 cly cars are real straight body’s .... as special buying a notch car..... Any Fox body that is clean is the one you just bought is worth to me if I had to buy 7000 ...... Don’t forget all of the v8 swapped stuff in the car already.....

As a man doing a 4 cyl swap now I would say you aren’t doing bad at all. Just the money in the 5 lug swap / 8.8 rear end 5 lug axles the gear subframe connectors and odd and end parts that came with the car you did good. I paid 5500 for a 92 calypso notch that didn’t have as much aftermarket stuff just a few resto parts but the interior was clean paint was pretty good and it was garage kept.
That's a super clean coupe. Pinch welds and undercarriage are in great shape. No rust. Interior looks decent. Body panels match with no noticeable dents/collision issues. Plus, you got some upgraded extra bolt-ons and V8 conversion stuff with it to give you a headstart with your build. Not a bad investment. Best of luck with your build/investment.
your video inspired me again.. yesterday we got a 93 1 owner LX notch w/ documented 53k original miles and CA car since new. it’s even a runner w/ ice cold AC. back in 2016 we also got a 93 LX hatch (1 owner / low mile pristine CA 2.3 / auto - now 5.0 5 speed) they are both 2x of the cleanest Fox’s i’ve ever seen, and obviously never beat on or abused.
In 2016 my fox 5.0 aod coupe was bought for me as a high school graduation present for $3500. AZ car whole life zero rust, no accidents. Just wait stock GT new edge coupes will be going for 15k in 10 years
Absolutely good deal! I paid 6500 for my notch about 11yrs ago. It was a 4 banger stanger as well and the previous owner did a full 5.0 swap. He didn’t do too good of a paint job though, there’s overspray on the vin stickers. I can overlook that, all of the panels are original and never been hit.
I believe your comment about clean older mustangs staying hot in the next 5 years is accurate but I don’t believe it just applies to mustangs. I think late 80s and 90s cars will stay/become hot regardless. Cars have become way too big, way too heavy, and way to teched out. Cars barely need us any more. I want a car that needs me. That era of cars needs you. The tough part is finding a clean one that is decades old. This mustang was a good find and purchase.
Wow what a pickup Chris, the body looks in great shape, mostly clean interior, a little pricey but you know what the market is getting for rust free foxbodys.
I wouldn't pay it as I don't know enough on how to convert it to a 5.0. But it is worth what someone will pay for it. You said there were multiple people willing to pay what he wanted for it so it is clearly worth it. You will be able to make money on it once you have it converted to 5.0.
That's definitely worth it. You got a great deal. Considering you have the know how and the parts car to swap over all the missing parts/drivetrain, it'll be a nice ride. It has some nice parts already installed.
That car is badass man. Super clean and I think you got a great deal. Like you mentioned, if you can swap it into what you want for an end result…. Great!
Great video! Very informative. I have also been thinking that 4 cyl are the potential of 5.0 progression. Well at least for people like me that perhaps have more of a limited budget for purchasing cars. Thanks TIPS...keep them vids coming! Merry Christmaa!!!
It's always a good deal when you can have the money to buy a fox body... No matter what shape or the price... They are coming obsolete... Buy them up boys & girls!!..
I have 2 4 cylinder swapped coupes. One with a 410 Windsor the other a mild 306 in it. Both are 83's, Just like you said hard to find clean fox bodies period.
A kind of understated swap for the Lima is a 2.3 ecoboost swap. Can make 300hp all day and has even more potential for power. Tons of them out there, pretty complex engine tho. I’m thinking of doing it to an i6 4 eye fox I’m gonna buy from a family member next year.
That’s a smoking deal. Guys selling rusty rail fox’s for that money up here. I just bought a rust free shell for 1k some may say that’s crazy but clean fox’s getting hard hard to find.
For me a car value is based on how bad you want it and what you plan to do with it...from this side that is a clean car.i buy junk and fix it up..but never over pay on a project..it could end up costing more then just buying a finished car.
just bought the exact same car just a hatch. 93’ lx 2.3 auto 178k original miles and it’s got the all blue interior in decent shape for arizona only paid 4 grand.

Only challenge I find with the 91-93 4 Cylinder is the Air Bag module where the internal module fuse goes bad and you can’t replace it without replacing that module.
I have a white 1992 Mustang LX Convertible you can buy saving lots with the CAN/US exchange rate. Only has 62 153 kms ( under 39 000 miles) and lived it's life in Florida aswell.
Good buy! I like 4 cyl cars since the torque boxes are usually still solid and they typically aren’t cut up. The problem in my area is that most were driven, therefore they’re rusty. But in the south they’re great
I like sleepers: what would it take to put in a 2.3 ford turbo 4cyl? Are they bolt in? Having the turbo-4 would keep it from sounding like a v8, for sleep-ability. There's a rust-free '92 4cyl 5-speed notchback for sale near me now, and I think I could get it for 4,500. I'm not a huge mustang guy, but I like foxbodies in general.
Whatever happened to the red vert that was in the fire ? was it ever able to get finished and saved ? This notch is a great buy ive seen some real beaters out there for close to that with nowhere near the extras .
Chris, I think $5K is a good buy for a roller notch. I love blue and red interior. Sand Beige too but I know those are rare. Black is still king but I like the other color interiors, outside of grey.
Good buy for a notch in that condition Chris! Next question that everyone will want to know and some will have different opinions on as well. What will the market value be for a clean good condition notch when the conversion and touch-ups are complete?
Im considering buying a clean stock 1989 2.3L mustang w/ 93K miles. What is that worth? I'm assuming since the mustang in the video already has nice rims, 5 lug, and a bunch of other goodies that it would be worth more as a roller then just a stock 2.3L mustang??? So im thinking $3500 would be a good price???
Good deal. Have you been on marketplace lately? People are selling clapped out rusty garbage with no engine or trannys for $8,000. You can’t get a car like that for less than 5 grand now a days.
It’s nice. I actually struggled selling my 5.0 notch. Ppl beat me up and didn’t show up to see it. I ended up selling a freshly painted notch with a new 347 for $7k. I wasn’t happy
I've got a 4cyl 90 notch With a 351 and a bunch of goodies on it Pretty good looking car I think. Didn't really care too much for the original v8 thing, I mean everyone that owns one is going to either go bigger or swap for something newer or maybe even worse go LS So 4cyl man it's a blank canvas.
I got a 89 coupe in great condition white coupe 2.3 4 cylinder interior blue nd the blue pin stripe identical to that one in great condition no rust runs nd drives Great trunk floor plans strut towers all vins number matching no Rust it’s for Sale lol
I have 1989 4cyl Fox LX coup (25th anniv / mustang ) Calif. Everything original ..128k 1 Family owned, very clean ,super paint -off gray. gray interior was offered 5k for that so... like 7k ? you think ?
I think you definitely got a good deal there I mean like you said you could just literally slap the drivetrain into it and go everything's already been done so there's not much to worry about except for cleaning up some of the things and swapping the pedals definitely a good buy it's a very well planned out build at least from what shows suspension wise and everything for a little streetcar to have fun in I would have bought it!
I like the foxes. But not 5k for a roller like them. They were cool cars back in the day. Not so much anymore. Yeah 5k doesn’t seem like much if your the guy putting the motor in and doing all the work. But either way still a lot of work for 5k car. I just don’t see the value but hey to each their own
Me personally I don’t see why it matters if it’s a four-cylinder or 5.0 originally. as long as it’s in good condition it’s still a foxbody and that’s what matters. There’s really not much difference between a V8 and a four-cylinder car at least that I know of. The spindles and struts are a little different because if you put v8 spindles or do a five lug swap with sn95 you can’t use the four-cylinder struts you have to buy V-8 struts. Mknow the fuel lines are ran a little different, and I know the brake lines ran a little different. oh, and it comes with a 7.5 rear end instead of the 88 which 99.9% of the people who buy fox body is going to change all of that anyways more than likely it’ll end up with a tubular member of five lug swap brand, new fuel lines from front rear and 8.8 or in subframe connectors and stuff like that that really don’t matter if it’s a V8 or fender and then you got the same damn car. i’m sure they’ll be people who disagree with me but that’s just my opinion and I think it’s pretty accurate honestly
That's exactly what my 93 lx coupe 4 cylinder is as well and it's all blue factory interior which I'll be swapping over to all black interior etc. I'm not that found of blue and definitely don't like red interior 🤢🤮🤢🤮never was a fan at all of the porno red interior but to each their own. Wish I could have found that white coupe. Awesome find. I swapped everything over on mine to v8 etc all sn95 Cobra spindles, hub bearings, cross drilled and slotted rotors, cobra calipers and a real true sn95 Cobra rear end out of a wrecked 95 Cobra with the 11.66 inch rear rotors etc. Will be swapping in a 427W this winter
@@TheInfamousProject I did for about 10 years 😂😂😂 time to change it up to all black.. BACK IN BLACK in my AC/DC voice 😂💯💪🚐💨🚫🧢🙏 Keep doing what you do. Look forward to the content weekly
Kinda strange after 30 years this notch didn't already become a V8 considering what was included with the car. The owner wasn't a little old lady, it was somebody with some knowledge of the 5.0L world.
Is a tub front end mustang worth anything or is it just a race car only ?I was looking for something with a tub front with built in strut towers...save a mustang..I found 1..its the only 1 I see thats not a full race car..but now I have second thoughts to stay away from it.
It can be anything you want it to be. The time and effort to put into it tho would be better spent on something else in most cases. Otherwise build it out the way it is
I think you got that for a good price buddy! All the bullshit little stiff you need is there plus the extras. That stuff adds up quick. Just drop a motor in and your good. Good buy 👍🏻
I have an 88 original fox body coupe I got it for my cousin‘s grandmother it still runs with 90 hp good on gas but I have so many fox bodies I’ve been thinking about liquidating some of my collection but what do you think a fair number is on something like that considering it runs and drives all original
I would say it's well worth what you paid it coupe I'm very fair condition. Lot of aftermarket parts with a ton considering time and money... And the turn around on that car once it's done will far out way your cost.
Seems like a nice solid car, but for me personally I would never touch a 4cly. Even if its free lol! Then I always have to keep that dirty little secret of it being a previous 4cly to everyone I meet that asks about the car, good luck on the build.
I see where your going price wise if you break it down time money and labor it fits your needs plus how many rust free fox bodys are out there the supply is getting lower as the time goes on .
Parting out a Fastback GT to save a LX 4 banger notch...the world is truly upside down and Satan has taken over lol. To an old guy like me thats like parting a 70 Boss to save a 6 banger Grande lmao. I know I know I get it I'm just trolling. So are you gonna play that Blue techno song while rollin in that blue interior?
Lol. Point taken however the floor, rad support and frame rails from that GT are going to save my 88GT T-Top. Taking the motor and transmission is trivial, need to look at the bigger picture. Techno music for sure!
Rust free notch for 5k hell yeah all day ! Don't care if its 4bangr. Actually I prefer.

It’s nice. I actually struggled selling my 5.0 notch. Ppl beat me up and didn’t show up to see it. I ended up selling a freshly painted notch with a new 347 for $7k. I wasn’t happy
I’m in NJ
Damn
I've got a 4cyl 90 notch
With a 351 and a bunch of goodies on it
Pretty good looking car I think.
Didn't really care too much for the original v8 thing, I mean everyone that owns one is going to either go bigger or swap for something newer or maybe even worse go LS
So 4cyl man it's a blank canvas.
Sold my 93 reef blue mint 4cyl car with just over 70k original miles to a friend for $5k. He sold it to a dude in Kuwait a few months later for $6.5k
You both undersold lol.
I think you got a deal, I would have paid the same. Good job Jim
Everything original ..128k 1 Family owned, very clean ,super paint -off gray. gray interior was offered 5k for that so... like 7k ? you think ?
Yea 5-6k for sure... The pre 90 cars don't fetch as much in my opinion
@@TheInfamousProject Thanx for the input......
Is a running 1991 4 cylinder 5speed notch worth buying at 6500? It’s 2024 lol
Smart buying decision.
Lol I wouldn’t trust anyone’s work who started doing a swap and then stopped. It all needs to be gone through and make sure it’s done right.
I like the foxes. But not 5k for a roller like them. They were cool cars back in the day. Not so much anymore. Yeah 5k doesn’t seem like much if your the guy putting the motor in and doing all the work. But either way still a lot of work for 5k car. I just don’t see the value but hey to each their own
Well it's all together now and finished. Check out my update video on it and you can judge for yourself
Gotta embrace the blue man lol
@@TheInfamousProject I did for about 10 years 😂😂😂 time to change it up to all black.. BACK IN BLACK in my AC/DC voice 😂💯💪🚐💨🚫🧢🙏
Keep doing what you do. Look forward to the content weekly
Haha appreciate that.

Rock on brother
Kinda strange after 30 years this notch didn't already become a V8 considering what was included with the car. The owner wasn't a little old lady, it was somebody with some knowledge of the 5.0L world.
I sold a running and driving ‘92 Coupe, 4 cyl./auto, white with gray interior for $3,200.00.
Not bad for 5k, looks mint.. here I am tryna hunt down a roller with no engine/trans for less than 1k lol
Otherwise build it out the way it is
Can you get a Fox anything for 5k these days?
I think you got that for a good price buddy! All the bullshit little stiff you need is there plus the extras. That stuff adds up quick. Just drop a motor in and your good. Good buy 👍🏻
I have an 88 original fox body coupe I got it for my cousin‘s grandmother it still runs with 90 hp good on gas but I have so many fox bodies I’ve been thinking about liquidating some of my collection but what do you think a fair number is on something like that considering it runs and drives all original
Shoot me an email to info@theinfamousproject.com and let me know what you have
@@TheInfamousProject Hellz yeah Sir🙏🏽 thank you I really appreciate this!!

@@johndoe-zb8bm cry me a river
The most important thing is the ashtray door works... lMAO 🤣😂
I would say it's well worth what you paid it coupe I'm very fair condition.
Lot of aftermarket parts with a ton considering time and money...
And the turn around on that car once it's done will far out way your cost.
Thats a good deal. Car looks solid and also came with a few goodies. Wanna sell that off road h pipe?
Thanks. I keep as many off road h pipes as I can these days lol
@@TheInfamousProject i tried 🤷♂️ Awesome Notch you got to man 👍🏼
Seems like a nice solid car, but for me personally I would never touch a 4cly. Even if its free lol! Then I always have to keep that dirty little secret of it being a previous 4cly to everyone I meet that asks about the car, good luck on the build.
Lol that's why I'm transparent from the beginning
Where can i sell my 4 cylinder engine ?
I just got a mint 96 impala ss from original owner. Wasn't starting but got that fixes for $60 and I'm now up 2x on my investment 🤣
96 impala, lmao!👈😁😂😜
@@johndoe-zb8bm you do realize emoji's dont make it easier for us to understand wtf you are saying?
If it's super clean and rust free.. non hacked up interior ..3500 to 6k..
@@TheInfamousProject 👍Well I'm always interested whether notch or GT as you tend to back up what you say on projects. Can't wait for the T-Top.
